I don't think you can go wrong with any book written by Jayne Ann Krentz. Her books are fast paced, exciting, and fun reads. Over the years of writing you can see how her female and male characters have changed with the times and are more realistic and human. For me, it makes the story more enjoyable and gives the dialogue between the characters more life.
This is the third in the series but it is also a stand alone book. I didn't remember the first two books but now I am going to have to get them so I can get the whole story!
Enjoy!

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 I somehow missed the first two books in The Lost Files Trilogy but luckily they were available at the library for me to swoop in and devour so I could jump right into Shattering Dawn. I have to say that this series started strong but just kept getting better and better! A heavy dose of paranormal mixed with the mystery of a stalker brings podcaster Amelia together with private investigator Gideon Sweewater and the intensity of this book builds beautifully to create a supernaturally suspenseful, gripping story! The balance between thriller and romance is perfect. Through the adrenaline is a deep connection that radiates an authenticity with a hint of pink and red aura that is just oozing with chemistry. Shattering Dawn is an absolutely unputdownable addition to this trilogy!

Another great Jayne Ann Krentz book. This was the third book in the series and I hope it wasn’t the last. Lots of suspense and a little romance.

Lost Night Files #3 – This book focuses on the third member of the Lost Night Files Podcast, Amelia who hires a private detective because she believes that she has a stalker. When she hires Gideon Sweetwater, she believes that he can help her because his name is on the list of people that were tested for psychic abilities. When she tries to explain to Gideon about her pictures and auras that she can see, he acts like he doesn’t have a clue what she is talking about. But he decides to take her case because it sounds interesting. Gideon chases off her stalker and has Amelia start a list of possible suspects that would send someone after her. From that list they both decide that the best place to start is the hotel that Amelia was lured to and woke up to an earthquake and a fire destroying the hotel. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend the series. I could have used a little more romance between Gideon and Amelia, but you could feel their connection to each other. Krentz ties up the loose ends of the Lost Night for all the girls successfully. This book won’t disappoint and might even lead you to read the Fogg Lake Trilogy. Thank you, Netgalley and Berkley for providing me with an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jayne Ann Krentz

Shattering dawn

Jayne Ann Krentz is a master of romantic suspense. In this one the way the characters relate and communicate is hilarious. The dynamics of their relationship increases the intensity of the suspense. She usually incorporates some paranormal element and this one is no different. It’s fascinating and intriguing what she comes up with dealing with the psychic phenomena. Great read.

I read this book really quickly and really want there to be more soon. Entertaining and it will be an easy hand sell.

Each of the titles in this The Lost Night Files has seemed more robust in its design and delivery than some of the more recent Krentz books. This third and final in the series, Shattering Dawn, brings that stronger authorship to the concluding story, along with the resolution of the plotline and of the good guys and the villains that have played a part.

This third title could be read as a stand-alone, but the reading would be fuller with the context of the first two in the series. And while you are reading Krentz / Castle, you'll enjoy the occasional tie-in across the Lost Night Files and the Harmony books.

For Krentz fans, this latest is currently scheduled to be released January 7, 2025. You'll want to include this in your TBR title list. Thanks to #NetGalley and #Berkley Publishing for the chance to keep up with this thankfully productive, dependable author.

Jayne Ann Krentz has been an insta-read for me for MANY years, and this newest addition did not disappoint! It was fun, had delightful banter, an angsty hero, and a fun finale to the mystery of our podcast trio's lost night!

I definitely recommend this book to any mystery fan. I can be read as a stand-alone, but it's so much more enjoyable if you've read the other two in the trilogy, and even more so if you've read the Fogg Lake trilogy as well!

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy!

Shattering dawn is an absolute blast of a read! It mixes suspense and romance in the most engaging way. The writing shines with engaging dialogue and a captivating plot that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The mystery is the main focus, but the lighter moments and the unique quirks of the characters add a fun layer to the story. Overall, this was fun. I would eagerly be anticipating the next instalment.

This is the third book in the Lost Night Files series about three woman who were strangers and woke up strapped to gurneys at the Lucent Springs Hotel in the middle of an earthquake and fire with no memory of how they got there! The three women started a podcast about their lost night called The Lost Night Files. It has romance, suspense and psychic powers and I think this is my favorite book in the series!

Amelia Rivers is being stalked and is afraid someone is trying to kidnap her and so she calls Gideon Sweetwater, a private investigator, to discover who is after her. Gideon is recovering from a gunshot wound in his leg that he got on his last case when he gets Amelia’s call. He is intrigued by her case and together they come up with suspects and new clues. The suspects include her ex-therapist who has been trying to meet up with her, a podcast fan or someone related to her lost night at the hotel.

This felt more lighthearted than some of Krentz’s other books. Amelia loves photography (one of her psychic talents) but it’s hard for her to have a steady income with it and there’s humor around that. Gideon has a psychic talent as an investor, so he is very wealthy. He can also induce nightmares. He has an elder uncle that shows up to help with the case who is quirky in a fun way. There’s even a sweet side to one of the villains.

This story’s main focus is on the mystery and I would have loved a little more romance, maybe a date that’s not totally focused on their mystery. But I enjoyed both Amelia and Gideon and I hope we get to see Phoebe’s story next! Thank you to Jayne Ann Krentz, Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC of the book.

What a great third book. I hope it continues even if they solved the original storyline. I love how she always has a yin and yang for her couples. Once I started it I could not put it down.
