Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Berkley Publishing for the gifted e-book! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.

Read this book if you like: Dual pov, grumpy sunshine, coworkers

Oh, how I wish I liked this one. The interesting thing about this book is it was a serial. It's been redone and is being released in January. It just didn't live up to previous books I have read by Lynn. The chemistry wasn't there.

Cheesy and cute but I ate it up! There was a few moments that I did actually laugh out loud. But if you don’t vibe with cheesy romances, this is not for you!

This was an enjoyable read. The characters were handled with a lot of humor. The end was a little too much drama, but nothing horrible. I will definitely look for other books by this author.

A sweet meet-cute story with all the usual tropes. A bit more on Blake’s backstory with his fiancé would have been interesting. Getting so worked up about Izzy taking someone else’s drink seemed exaggerated. What if Amy had ordered a drink for a colleague, then all the cups would be for “Amy.”

I love Starbucks but did not see the need for an ongoing commercial about Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) throughout the novel. Also, I couldn’t see Blake breaking the rules to date Izzy knowing that the new restructuring of staff hierarchy was still being revamped. It was fine for him to do something quite questionable, like date a subordinate, but very wrong for Izzy to grab someone else’s drink?

This is my first Lynn Painter and it will not be my last. This was so cute. I think it was a charming story of two people finding their person. I will say there were 3 roadblocks in this, and at times it felt like a lot, but also life is messy, so I'm ok with this romance being a little messy. I enjoyed it!

Thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and Netgalley for the ARC!

Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter is a delightful romp that perfectly captures the chaos of life and love. The story follows Isabella Shay, who, in a moment of desperation on her first day at her dream job, does the unthinkable and takes a drink meant for someone else. This seemingly small act leads to a meet-cute with Blake Phillips, the most attractive man she’s ever encountered—only to discover he’s also her new boss!

Lynn Painter has a remarkable talent for creating relatable, humorous characters navigating cringe-worthy yet endearing situations. I found myself rooting for Izzy as she juggles the fallout of her impulsive decision while trying to win over the grumpy, charming Blake. The chemistry between them sizzles as they clash in the office, and I loved watching their relationship evolve from antagonism to undeniable attraction.

Painter masterfully captures the intricacies of relationships, not just romantic ones but also those with friends and family. Each character is well-developed and contributes to the story’s heart, making it easy to overlook any stock romantic tropes. The moments that stood out to me were when characters stood up for themselves and when their connections deepened in unexpected ways.

This book is a perfect blend of humor, charm, and romance that will leave you smiling. Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

This book was absolutely delightful! The first chapter had me laughing out loud at Blake and Izzy's meet-cute. The two of them were adorable and swoon-worthy, with perfect chemistry and banter. Some of my favorite rom-com elements are text conversations, workplace romances and first person, dual point of view, and this book had all of them! Blake was the perfect MMC, a cat-loving VP with a heart of gold who fell head over heels for Izzy. And she was a junk-food loving mess, who also happened to be extremely smart and talented. They fit so well together, and are in the running for my favorite fictional couple. There was a conflict about 2/3 of the way through the book, and my only complaint is that it was resolved too quickly. I enjoy angst and like to see a little more drama in my books. But, despite that, I've given this book 5 stars because it was so wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet, funny romance.

So stinking cute! Was it cringy & a little annoying at times? Yes. Did I care? Nope. Knowing that this was written chapter by chapter for her email subscribers then turned into a book, gah I needed to get my hands on this asap! So cute.

This was adorable & too funny! Tropes include: instalove, workplace romance, lots of texts, quirky girl. All things I really like even tho I know most hate instalove. The title of the book ties in perfectly & it’s so cute! I felt like the story kind of resolved too quickly for my liking (I needed a tad bit more groveling from the mmc) but overall a super fast read from an author I love!
1/5🔥

I love Lynn Painter and I'll read anything by her. This was entertaining, cute, and a great fun read. I was hooked right from the moment when the PSL was passed to "Amy" and all of the mishaps and shenanigans ensued. A great read for any Painter fan and any romance/comedy fan.

I was absolutely delighted to see that Accidentally Amy was being more widely released and to receive an ARC. This book was cute and spicy and with signature Lynn Painter humour and on point references. It was the perfect read for a cozy afternoon and I loved seeing Izzy and Blake’s relationship develop. The other characters were so funny and the world felt so comfortable and lived in. Can’t wait to see what she writes next!

This was very cute! Workplace/boss romance, friends to lovers, a little spicy. If you love this authors previous work, you’ll love this one too!

Fun, sassy banter? Check. Characters I wanted to root for? Check. This story was as delightful as I had hoped, another romcom escape by an author I have come to count on for light spice, heavy romance, and great dialogue. Izzy and Blake had a fun dynamic, and the boss/employee angle was a nice change from the typical tropes. This will be included in the shelf of Lynn Painter titles we happily share with customers.

I admit to a bit of hero worship when it comes to Lynn Painter. Whether she's writing YA or adult rom-com, she shines in writing relatable, funny characters in alternatively cringy and endearing situations. I find that with adult books, I have a lower tolerance for stock steamy/female fantasy -- I roll my eyes at scenes devoted romance fans will certainly find swoonworthy. Accidentally Amy has a fair number of these, but again, I love Painter characters and I love the way she gets the meat of the relationships, whether it's the love relationship or the relationships characters have with friends and family. I can overlook my own hangups for that. In the end, the scenes I'll revisit when I think back on this book are all the best scenes: when characters stand up for themselves, when they compete in crazy games, when they care for each other in surprising ways.

Thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for access to the ARC. Opinions stated here are my own, and I am not compensated for my review.

Ok I'm kind of so deeply obsessed with this!! Izzy and Blake's story is so so fun and they are both so severly down bad for each other, especially Blake! I could not get enough of their banter and seeing their texts to each other allowed us into their brains so much and I love them so so much!

I found Izzy to be super relatable and I loved her little chaotic energy and the bond with her cousins so much! Blake was such a swoony character and is now a top book bf for me now!

Izzy and Blake had a meet cute at a Starbucks and from there it just became such a sweet romance. They can’t date because Blake is her boss, so they become friends, but their attraction to each other doesn’t dissipate. I felt Izzy & Blake’s chemistry immediately, but it was fun to watch their relationship grow into friendship, and then into something more. I particularly enjoyed their flirting and banter! I laughed out loud reading this book so much! I loved the dynamic between the two and how it immediately felt like they had known each other for years and were comfortable with each other. “Accidentally Amy” was an easy and quick read, it had me smiling and giggling the whole time. It was adorable and quirky and I couldn’t put it down! I really enjoy Lynn Painter's writing style. Her characters are funny, and she has a way of portraying their charisma so easily through text. Thanks to Lynn Painter, Netgalley and Berkley for an e-arc in exchange for my thoughts. I look forward to what Lynn Painter writes next.

4.5 stars

If you haven't tried a Lynn Painter rom-com, then what are you doing with your life.

In all seriousness, this woman can write a fun and easy love story. Can they be a bit cheesy, absolutely, but that's what makes them fun and easy to read. This one was just that. A little cheesy, a lot of heart.

Isabella Shay is running late for her first day at a new job. When the line at Starbucks is taking too long, Izzy decides to pick up Amy's PSL - after all, they ordered the same drink and they both paid AND Amy has been called three times. Izzy doesn't have time to be the polite-to-a-fault person she normally is, so she grabs Amy's drink and turns to run SMACK into a tall, broad chested man named Blake. It's pretty much insta love, and Izzy is here for it. But the only problem is, Blake thinks her name is Amy. Thinking she'll never see this man again, she lets him believe that and heads on her way to her new job. However, as she's being introduced to the VP of the company she realizes it's none other than BLAKE! Yes, that Blake.

This book is full of sweet banter, flirting, and developing friendship/romance. I really enjoyed it. And if you like rom-com movies or other books by this author, you'll enjoy this one for sure!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This is a new to me Lynn Painter and much like everything else I've read from her I loved it.

Amy, or Izzy, makes a decision to snag a coffee meant for someone else and it triggers a chain of events that is hilarious, romantic and heartwarming.

The coffee leads to a meet cute that leads to sparks... but then Izzy's little white lie to get her coffee derails things. Mystery man Blake turns out to work with Izzy and have a real thing about lies, no matter how little, but their chemistry is hard to ignore.

The situation Painter creates forces them to move from enemies to friends to lovers (obvi). It's so fun for the reader along the way.

It's a fun read that'll make you laugh and warm your heart.
