I really enjoyed the 2022 version of Accidentally Amy. It was short and sweet, and the main characters were very hilarious and adorable. I was over the moon when it was announced that a longer, first-person dual-POV version of Accidentally Amy is being released! We finally get to see more Izzy and Blake content!
This new version is basically the same story as the 2022 version, but we get to see Blake’s POV and more banter between the main characters this time around. While Izzy was too adorable, Blake was even more so. I found him charming and his falling hard and fast for Izzy was an absolute delight!
While I would have loved to see more depth to their characters, I appreciated that Painter stuck with the light and easy atmosphere that reading AA brings. The additional banter was hilarious and sweet, though some were too sweet that they came along as a bit cringe. But the steamy scenes are just 🥵🔥🥵🥵🔥 (I won’t say anything more but you guys get it, right?)
If you’re into some light and cheesy feel-good romance, don’t forget to pick up this new version of Accidentally Amy released by Berkley! Thank you again for giving me a free copy to read and review (and for the sneak peek of Painter’s next book! 👀)

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this ARC!
Now this was super cute! 💕
Lynn Painter is one of my favorite authors, and this was my first adult book I’ve read by her! It was very different compared to her Young Adult books but I was loved it!
⋆⁺₊✧ “I was constantly blown away. She had her own brand of generosity that was all about kindness and acceptance, and I was starting to wonder how I was lucky enough to even know her, much less take her out to dinner” ⋆⁺₊✧
This was dual POV and I loved seeing how both characters thought of each other throughout the book! They were both so witty and funny towards each other and it was amazing to read!
If you like Lynn Painters writing or Rom-Coms this would be one of the books I recommend to you!
(PS: this book did have some spice!)

Loved this book. Sometimes you just need a hilarious meet cute in a cheesy ass rom-com with great banter that will make you crack up laughing. Usually not a fan of insta-love but somehow it worked in this one and I found it adorable. It was exactly what I needed.

Izzy is running late for her first day at her dream job and Amy doesn’t pick up her order she makes a split decision and takes that PSL only to run right into the most attractive man shes ever met and spilling the drink all over him. Sparks fly, its the ultimate meet cute until the lies start catching up to her. Not only does Blake think har name is Amy but turns out he’s the VP of her department. The charming guy from the coffee shop turns into an arrogant grump. What a mess.
I was lured in by the beautiful cover but I’m really glad I picked this on up. It’s a fun romcom, starts off strong with a meet cute and is a fairly quick read. There is quite a lot of fluff and cheesy banter which I don’t mind for the most part but naming a cat The Darkling, really? If you’re not a fan of that you’ll probably find it a bit too cringe.
The characters balance each other out quite well, Izzy is a bit chaotic and Blake as the clam and collected business man he is grounds her. Their text threads are hilarious and even though their relationship moves quite fast their chemistry felt genuine. It’s a fun open door autumn romcom, perfect for a rainy day.

3.5 stars. Really quick easy romcom. Friends to lovers workplace romance where they have their little meet cute before they realize he is her new boss. For the most part this book was very average and nothing really stood out to me. It's a pretty short book and it lacks character development. I didn't find myself attached to the characters. I didn't really like the ending of this book. Izzy having to find another job was just... not for me. In the current world we live in, the female entry level employee shouldn't have to find another job and the male VP keeps his. Izzy getting laid off had nothing to do with their relationship, but I still didn't like it. I also did not like "PSL" instead of pumpkin spice latte... I know I'm being a little picky.

Izzy is usually an honest person but on this day when she is running late and the barista calls for ‘Amy’ multiple times she just grabs that PSL and runs. Little does she know it would cause her whole world to turn upside down, when she turns around and runs straight into the most gorgeous man she has ever seen, spilling it all over him. She apologizes profusely and she thinks she has a perfect meet cute except for one thing, he thinks her name is Amy. To make matters worse he is her new VP of her company and he is a grumpy nightmare.
I loved this adorable grumpy sunshine book. I loved their chemistry and banter.

Accidentally Amy
4.8/5⭐️
This book comes out January 14, 2025 and let me just say that this book was addictive. I couldn’t stop reading it. Like seriously I was so hooked from Blake and Izzys first interaction. I’m so excited to buy this book when it comes out!
As you can see from my pictures Lynn Painter REALLY knows how to make you get butterflies from her books. Even in her YA books. BUT THIS WAS INSANE BUTTERFLIES. This book is the definition of strangers to lovers but also like fate. They accidentally bump into each other in Starbucks and she spills her coffee on him. Specifically his chest hence the nickname Mr Chest. And after that they keep bumping into each other and they also find that they have undeniable chemistry.
I could not stop reading this book until I finished it. I was forced to read it in 2 sittings but I definitely could’ve finished it in one if I had time.
My piece of advice is this coming January.. buy this book because I will be too.

This was my first book by Lynn Painter and I loved it! It was such a cute romcom and I literally could not put it down. I loved the characters, their meet cute and their banter. I will definitely be reading more books by this author and recommend this one to everyone!

Sometimes it’s a one-off thing to fib at a coffee shop.
Isabelle Shay’s first day at her new job starts in a comically desperate rush, having to swipe a Pumpkin Spiced Latte intended for “Amy.” This white lie turns into an endearing meet cute with Blake Phillips. He’s her new boss and she’s definitely not Amy—she’s a java jacker. How will these two manage to keep their workplace romance under wraps?
A rom-com gem! Lynn Painter’s stories always balance humor and heart.

Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter is an absolute gem for fans of romantic comedies. This delightful novel offers a perfect mix of humor, charm, and heartwarming moments that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
The story begins with Isabella Shay, who, in a desperate rush on her first day at her dream job, mistakenly takes a pumpkin spice latte meant for someone named Amy. This small act of deception leads to a hilariously awkward encounter with Blake Phillips, a strikingly handsome man she accidentally spills the drink on. Their meet-cute is both chaotic and endearing, setting the stage for a romance filled with witty banter and unexpected twists.
Lynn brilliantly captures the chemistry between Izzy and Blake, transforming their initial tension into a slow-burning attraction that feels both genuine and captivating. The workplace dynamic adds an extra layer of intrigue as Izzy discovers that Blake is not just any attractive stranger, but the VP of her department. His grumpy demeanor towards her as Izzy, in contrast to his charm towards "Amy," creates a compelling push-pull dynamic that keeps readers engaged.
Lynn Painter's writing is sharp and engaging, bringing the characters to life with vivid detail and humor. The dialogue is snappy, and the situations are laugh-out-loud funny, yet the story also has moments of heartfelt emotion that add depth to the romance. Izzy's journey from an accidental fib to navigating her feelings for Blake is both relatable and entertaining.
Accidentally Amy is a wonderfully crafted rom-com that hits all the right notes. With its well-developed characters, hilarious situations, and a romance that sizzles, this book is a must-read for anyone looking for a feel-good story that will leave you smiling long after you turn the last page. Lynn Painter has delivered a delightful read that perfectly balances humor and heart, making it a standout for all romance fans.

Okay first of all, I am surprised at all of the negative reviews on this book! This is one of my favourite Lynn Painter books for sure (don't think she can top Better Than the Movies though). A good fluffy romance, super easy to read and had me absolutely laughing my head off.
I mean sure, the characters had zero personality, no depth to them, and no defining character traits except that Blake has brothers and Izzy loves pizza. There was also no plot, BUT did I absolutely devour this book anyways? 1000%! I seriously could not put it down. Sometimes you just need a quick, happy romance that you don't need to think to read. The banter was so good, and the dialogue was so funny I was actually cackling out loud. I also really liked the spice level, not too much, not too little.
Solid 3 star book for me, it was good but not spectacular. It was just missing the depth and emotional damage for it to be a higher rating.

This was a cute east rom com that I love reading. The banter in this book was top tier, I found myself smiling and laughing so much while I was reading. The only problem that I found in this book was the cringe moments but other than that I totally enjoyed reading.

It was a cute story and it was funny at some moment but I found the dialogue really cringe for most of the book. I didn't particularly like the characters, but I just think it's just because I didn't connect/see myself in them. Also can we talk about the cover, because it is so cute!

Lynn Painter is the GOAT of heartfelt yet quirky romcoms and Accidentally Amy DELIVERS on some of her most swoony and laugh out loud moments. This meet cute is one for the ages and "Amy"/Isabella and Blake are my ride or die. Its parts workplace romance, parts grumpy/sunshine and ultimately best friends to lovers and I could not get enough of it. It's spicy and heart felt and will give you all the warm gooey feelings plus loads of laughter and FIRE banter.

Thank you to NetGalley, Lynn Painter, and the publishers for providing me with the e-ARC!
This was my first Lynn Painter read, and definitely not my last!
Accidentally Amy was the perfect quick and easy romance read. The FMC was super cringey, I was laughing out loud, but I kind of loved it. The banter and tension between the main characters was great. As a fellow cat lover I absolutely loved the focus on their furry friends.
Overall this was just a fun and enjoyable read!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for providing this book, with my honest review below.
How does Accidentally Amy manage to be the cutest rom com? It 100% was one of the books I’d recommend to my lighter romance loving friends, hitting the perfect balance of sweet and steamy with plenty of humor to keep things from getting too basic.
From the jump the concept is great, with Izzy pretending to be a mysterious pumpkin latte loving Amy in her haste to get her coffee and get to her first day of work at her dream job. Naturally she bumps (BUMPS) into Blake and has an adorable meet cute, until she meets Blake at work as her new boss. And it’s important to note he has serious trust issues and sees their meet cute as proof that she’s a big liar.
What follows isn’t to be expected but is adorable. What takes this book into stellar waters are the great supporting characters and the humor they bring to the story as well. I had so much fun reading this and recommend this to anyone who likes funny romances!

Accidentally Amy was so fun and had me in hysterics right off the bat!
I loved the banter from start to finish, their relationship, the characters and of course the cats!
The heat in this book really took me for surprise as I was more expecting a closed door but this office romance was HOT!
This was my first book by Lynn Painter and added Mr Wrong Number to my christmas wish list.

Even my daily anxiety meds cannot totally assuage the constant pit in my stomach full of fear of doing something wrong, it’s just a part of who I am. I am learning to live with it and that part of me totally vibed with Lynn Painter’s FMC, Izzy, who is so terrified of being late for her first day of work that she grabs an unclaimed PSL that was her same order just for try to get out the door to make it to work on time. Painter’s writing is comical and lighthearted enough that the part of me that cringes at unease was able to read on to root for Izzy, whose true identity is sussed out by that handsome man at Starbucks. Blake just happens to be her no-nonsense VP at the new job where there are definite rules against commingling. Call it fate or kismet, but some force keeps drawing them together, challenging both of their strong need to keep boundaries and follow all regulations laid out for them. Accidentally Amy was an beautifully endearing read about taking on the surprises that come our way in life and embracing the universes’s plan for us.
Review is on Goodreads and will be posted on instagram closer to publication date and on Amazon when published!

Ok if you were to tell me that Accidentally Amy is actually meta-commentary on the romance industry as a whole I would totally give this book 5 stars and it would be an all-time favorite. Like, the writing here is so over-indulgent, so corny, so "we have no problems we just fall in love" that to me it honestly goes past being annoying into something actually enjoyable.
The "conflict" of this book with the fake name gets resolved in the first like 40 pages and then the rest of the time it's just two annoying people in love. And the FMC Izzy was so "yeah I'm quirky I only eat fast food and pizza" that I actually almost found it endearing? Like yeah wouldn't it be great if we could all be our annoying unhealthy selves and the person we are with finds it inextricably hot like yeah what a dream.
I think this book takes a lot of wish fulfillment you get in romance and just multiples it by 50.
Make a mistake in front of your boss's boss? BOOM doesn't matter he's insta in love with you.
Car broken down? BOOM your man is a mechanic as a hobby.
Want a man with emotional depth? BOOM he has two cats and had a good relationship with his deceased mom.
I can't help but say I was a wee bit charmed by the banter and the absurdity and the awkward and the wish fulfillment and like I said if Lynn Painter did an interview right now that said this was a parody of a romance novel I'd literally add this to my favorites list but alas it was in earnest.

This book was absolutely amazing. This was actually my very first book by this author, and I was very pleasantly surprised! It was so cute!
