Literal perfection! I originally read this as a newsletter and I absolutely loved it and I love these new changes! I really missed really miss Mr. Chest and Starbucks Amy and I loved getting the opportunity to experience their relationship in first person now. Their relationship is just so cute and I loved their journey! It’s also the absolute perfect fall read!
I read the reviews on here before I started this book and wasn't expecting much. Well I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this fun rom com story. Maybe it's because I didn't think I would even though I love Lynn Painter's other books. Either way I'm glad I read it. Even read it in less than 24 hours. Thanks NetGalley for the advanced copy. #AccidentallyAmy #NetGalley
In this updated and revamped version of Accidentally Amy, Izzy is waiting for a coffee on her first day of work. She’s already late and Amy isn’t coming to grab her order, which happens to be the same as Izzy’s. Izzy makes a snap decision to take Amy’s drink, only to result in meeting the man of her dreams in an unfortunate way a few moments later. Blake, Izzy’s dream man, later turns out to be her boss. He doesn’t appreciate her explanation and the two of them must find a way to work together despite their discomfort and obvious attraction.
I am a huge fan of Lynn Painter’s work and loved the original Accidentally Amy, so I was incredibly grateful to receive an early copy of this book! It has been changed to third person POV and quite a bit of material has been added to the original story. I rated the first version four stars because I loved it, but with these updates it’s without question a five star read for me. The banter is perfection, it’s light hearted and funny, and instills the perfect amount of tension and romance. This is one of my favorite meet cutes of all time as well. Basically, Lynn Painter can do no wrong and I’ll continue to read whatever she writes!
Thank you so much to Lynn Painter and Berkley Romance for the ARC and the opportunity to read and review this book.
This romance novel enchants with its heartfelt story and relatable characters, pulling readers into a whirlwind of love and emotion. The author's vivid descriptions and genuine dialogue make the romance feel authentic and deeply moving. With its perfect blend of passion and tenderness, this book is a delightful escape for any fan of love stories.
I will always enjoy a Lynn Painter book! Her writing is fast-paced and addicting. The perfect fluffy romance read for when you aren't looking for something too dense, but still want to get lost in the story. These characters didn't stand out to me much more than her others, but their story was still incredibly fun and they had incredible banter that had me giggling all the way through. I am so exited that I got the chance to read this early and I will definitely be recommending it to others once it comes out!!
Lynn Painter has gradually become one of my favorite Authors to read and this one takes the cake. I read it in one day and I thought it was incredible. I can't believe I have to wait until January to share this with my patrons!
↳ 2.5 stars 🌟
first of all thank u sm to netgalley and the publisher for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest review ! <3
this is a adult romance by lynn painter .
this book was not bad, just boring. it took me (in my standards) an unsual time to read just because the story felt very flat. the same thing applied to the characters, who had literally no depth or backstory. i got the sense that the author was trying to convince me that they had a personality even tho i did not believe it. she was listing qualities any person could have which made the characters not unique at all. throughout the meet cute and developpement to the relationship, i was very infuriated over the fact that he was 'mad' at her for taking someone else's starbucks drink. im sorry but if i was in that exact same situation i would literally not care so why did he have to make a whole big deal out of it?? apparently its because his ex-wife gave him trust issues or whatever, but then that drama was never mentioned again after the first act 😭 lastly, their connection did not feel real? it was like the sole reason they were together was for you know what and looks ...
ok im being a bit of a hater so i will say that i liked the cats ? and the fmc was kind of funny sometimes, but nothing that mindblowing.
i seriously cant believe this is the same author that wrote better than the movies . i had heard that her adult books were very mid so this confirms it.
overall, i would probably not recommend this book, sadly, but this author does make very good ya romance books so go read those !! 😚
What a quick fun re release! I believe this was self published by the author and now it is being re released with edits and proofread! I think this book is perfect for those who want a quick and fun read in between heavy books. The banter is sure to make you smile and the chemistry between two characters is sizzling! I will say it is pretty fast paced so if you are more of the slow burn type, this might feel a little bit insta-love for you. Nonetheless i love lynn painter’s writing and she excels in character dialogue so this was such a FUN READ! i need someone like Blake to be utterly obsessed with me like he is with Izzy!
Tysm Netgalley and the publisher for providing me an early copy for an honest review!
This is the book that made me fall in love with Lynn Painter and I am so happy it's been picked up by the trad. pub. world!! It just gives you everything you look for in a rom com, it's cozy, sexy, and has great banter! This has quickly become a book that I reread every fall. It's fast paced, I love the couples chemistry, and it's hilarious above all else!
I am not a fan of insta love or meet cute, so this was a miss for me. Still, I had a great time reading it, it's never boring, and the pacing is quite good. The characters didn't do much for me, but shout out to the MMC.

Thank you to the author, Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for giving me the chance to read an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I’ll forever and always be a Lynn Painter fan. I have loved this book since the first time I read it and had been thinking of doing a reread. So when I saw the arc available I took that as my sign.
Starbucks Amy and Mr. Chest are one big masterpiece. Giving butterflies and heart palpitations.
I think this is a great book to read if you’re wanting to dip your toe into the smut pool. It’s got everything you could want and need in a story. And if you haven’t read it yet you’re really missing out.
5 stars, easily
I absolutely loved this one! From the start, I loved Izzy (FMC). She's quirky, fun, awkward and relatable. The meet cute and accidentally Amy bit truly made me giggle throughout the story. Literally LOVED Blake. This truly had me rooting for them the entire time! I loved how the ending played out. Cute, funny and spicy bits! Great all around!!
I received this ARC to read/review from NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.
"Don’t be scared, Iz. Just take a deep breath and let yourself fall." - Blake Phillips
Okay, hear me out. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE FUNNIEST READS BEYOND MY IMAGINATION! I read this yesterday, and I still can't get over the giddiness I feel towards Izzy and Blake! WHAT THE GUACAMOLE! I totally regret nary reading Lynn Painter's books sooner. If I had known she was this brilliant at writing romance-comedy, I would've gobbled up all her books in a week. (Okay, maybe not in a week, but damn! I just can't express how much this book made me laugh.)
I'm not entirely sure if I can call this a "Fast-Paced Romance," but I'm going with it because of that one incident where Izzy and Blake inadvertently met. As a matter of fact, the initial meeting of these two protagonists was so trite that my first reaction was, "This'll be another hackneyed scenario from Korean dramas I've seen an umpteenth time." But, oh boy, was I wrong.
Everything—literally EVERYTHING—about Izzy and Blake's relationship was so organic, bizarre, funny, adorable, and just PURE MAGIC! I don't want to spoil too much, but I'm still going to share a tiny bit of their conversations because, damn, this book made me laugh out loud.
"Are you lost, baby girl?" - Blake Philipps
As an Asian with a conservative streak, this line had me in stitches for like 2 minutes. If you've seen that spicy Netflix movie where the main actor says this, you'll know why.
Anyway, another line that I love (WILL HOPEFULLY COAX YOU TO READ THIS, FINGERS CROSSED):
"I have pizza, McDonald’s, flowers, a six-pack, a gallon of chocolate ice cream, a bottle of wine, and a thousand apologies. If you’ll let me come in, I’ll give you all of it." - Blake Philipps
Ughh. Blake, oh Blake. Izzy is so lucky to have such a romantic, scrupulous, a weirdo in the best possible way, charming, and hot guy in the world of imagination. Blake is just... impeccable! And of course, as much as I'd love to keep mentioning Blake, Izzy is equally fantastic. Izzy is so bizarre, witty, hard-working, persistent, and really, really funny. Most of the time, the reason I kept laughing was because of how quickly she can retort, insert sarcasm, or turn a sad situation into something funny.
I also want to mention other lovable and supporting characters like Josh, Jason, Kylie, Chloe, and AJ, and of course, a special mention to their super adorable cats: The Darkling, Goodyear, and Hole. After all, Blake is really, really good at coming up with monikers for his cats. (Inserts evil sarcasm.)
I don’t mean to overstate this, but you really, really need to read this if you want to forget or temporarily escape your problems, depression, and just detox and relax. I'm 101% sure that Izzy will also make you laugh out loud.
A huge thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for giving me the opportunity to meet Izzy and Blake and laugh at their bizarre interactions.

Quick intro:
We follow Izzy and Blake from meet-cute to friends to lovers in this cozy fall-time rom-com romp.
Quick thoughts:
Welp, revisions and all, Accidentally Amy is still my favorite Lynn Painter adult contemporary Romance! For whatever reason, Izzy is just my favorite character Lynn has written. She is so off the wall, chaotic, funny, charming, and wonderfully fun. Blake loves that he never knows what’s going to come out of her mouth and I seriously love it too. And Blake is THE MAN. He’s successful, has two cats, has integrity, and is GONE for Izzy.
And again, as an Omaha native, the local references make this book such a fun ride. I can picture everything **perfectly.** I lived in a six-plex in my early twenties that felt similar to the four-plex Izzy lives in. So, it felt super nostalgic. And I still maintain that the billboard assholes game scene is one of the best things I have ever read - Lynn SHINES here with her writing of physical comedy.
Read if you like first person dual POV, hilarious banter, a lot of texting, strangers to friends to lovers, forbidden romance, nicknames, using last names, sizzling chemistry, MCs with cats, and books set in Omaha.
Thank you thank you thank you Berkley Romance for the free book in exchange for my honest thoughts. #berkley #berkleypartner #berkleybookstagram

Re-release of previously self-published book
PUB Date: January 14, 2025
🔥🔥🔥🔥Multiple open door scenes with explicit language throughout. HOWEVER, the scenes were not long and some were not overly descriptive and leaned toward fade-to-black. You could easily skip or skim if that’s your preference.
I really enjoyed this book!! I did download the audio for it and it was fantastic! Lynn Painter always delivers a fun and enjoyable read everytime! Banter is one of the most important aspects of a book and this delivered!

I really enjoyed the 2022 version of Accidentally Amy. It was short and sweet, and the main characters were very hilarious and adorable. I was over the moon when it was announced that a longer, first-person dual-POV version of Accidentally Amy is being released! We finally get to see more Izzy and Blake content!
This new version is basically the same story as the 2022 version, but we get to see Blake’s POV and more banter between the main characters this time around. While Izzy was too adorable, Blake was even more so. I found him charming and his falling hard and fast for Izzy was an absolute delight!
While I would have loved to see more depth to their characters, I appreciated that Painter stuck with the light and easy atmosphere that reading AA brings. The additional banter was hilarious and sweet, though some were too sweet that they came along as a bit cringe. But the steamy scenes are just 🥵🔥🥵🥵🔥 (I won’t say anything more but you guys get it, right?)
If you’re into some light and cheesy feel-good romance, don’t forget to pick up this new version of Accidentally Amy released by Berkley! Thank you again for giving me a free copy to read and review (and for the sneak peek of Painter’s next book! 👀)
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this ARC!
Now this was super cute! 💕
Lynn Painter is one of my favorite authors, and this was my first adult book I’ve read by her! It was very different compared to her Young Adult books but I was loved it!
⋆⁺₊✧ “I was constantly blown away. She had her own brand of generosity that was all about kindness and acceptance, and I was starting to wonder how I was lucky enough to even know her, much less take her out to dinner” ⋆⁺₊✧
This was dual POV and I loved seeing how both characters thought of each other throughout the book! They were both so witty and funny towards each other and it was amazing to read!
If you like Lynn Painters writing or Rom-Coms this would be one of the books I recommend to you!
(PS: this book did have some spice!)
₊˚⊹♡ 3 Stars! ₊˚⊹♡
Loved this book. Sometimes you just need a hilarious meet cute in a cheesy ass rom-com with great banter that will make you crack up laughing. Usually not a fan of insta-love but somehow it worked in this one and I found it adorable. It was exactly what I needed.
Izzy is running late for her first day at her dream job and Amy doesn’t pick up her order she makes a split decision and takes that PSL only to run right into the most attractive man shes ever met and spilling the drink all over him. Sparks fly, its the ultimate meet cute until the lies start catching up to her. Not only does Blake think har name is Amy but turns out he’s the VP of her department. The charming guy from the coffee shop turns into an arrogant grump. What a mess.
I was lured in by the beautiful cover but I’m really glad I picked this on up. It’s a fun romcom, starts off strong with a meet cute and is a fairly quick read. There is quite a lot of fluff and cheesy banter which I don’t mind for the most part but naming a cat The Darkling, really? If you’re not a fan of that you’ll probably find it a bit too cringe.
The characters balance each other out quite well, Izzy is a bit chaotic and Blake as the clam and collected business man he is grounds her. Their text threads are hilarious and even though their relationship moves quite fast their chemistry felt genuine. It’s a fun open door autumn romcom, perfect for a rainy day.

3.5 stars. Really quick easy romcom. Friends to lovers workplace romance where they have their little meet cute before they realize he is her new boss. For the most part this book was very average and nothing really stood out to me. It's a pretty short book and it lacks character development. I didn't find myself attached to the characters. I didn't really like the ending of this book. Izzy having to find another job was just... not for me. In the current world we live in, the female entry level employee shouldn't have to find another job and the male VP keeps his. Izzy getting laid off had nothing to do with their relationship, but I still didn't like it. I also did not like "PSL" instead of pumpkin spice latte... I know I'm being a little picky.
