This book was excellent!

I loved the story and the message that the author gets over though the book.

It was well written and easy to follow and I loved the paying it back theme too.

The book shows how perseverance and determination can help you succeed even when it is less expected and I loved how the story ended too and the positive impact one small loan can make on the whole community - very inspiring

A great read - 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended and loved it was based on the true story of Dr. Kwabena Darko

This will be a great way to show my students how making an investment can multiply. I do a short unit on careers and making business plans. This book would be a great unit opener.

Interesting and unique, this book teaches kids to change their dreams by starting with baby steps. This is so important for young readers, because it helps them realize that they need to put in the work to get what they want; things don't just come on their own, right away. I definitely think that Kojo's story will inspire readers everywhere to follow their dreams and take time with their roads to success. Additionally, the ending teaches kids a bit about kindness and paying it forward. It's awesome that this book teaches two highly important lessons, all in one story. The illustrations were crisp and simple, but still complemented the story and the writing perfectly, and it was all nicely organized. Lastly, I have one critique to write about. I think that a few of the words/terms in this story might be a bit complex for young readers, depending on age and/or reading level. This can lead kids to not enjoy the book as much as they could because they are confused, or it could promote the learning of new vocabulary. This aspect can go either of these two ways, but I think that overall this book sends a good message in an effective way.
