I listened to this on audio and it was very well done! It was engaging and I laughed out loud often. I managed to walk over my step goal each day because I was so invested and didn’t want to stop listening. This series has everything I look for in a summer read- fun characters, charming town, realistic love story. This installment was great! My thanks to the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Kortney Keisel sets up the Falling for Summer series so well with her book, Summer Ever After. We begin with an introduction of the island and the residents there. Our heroine, Jane, gives us a nice little tour of all the single men on the island and it made me so excited to read the rest of the series! I have a feeling you’ll want to read this book to start the series right.

Summer Ever After was written for romance readers and I was here for it!! Jane is a hopeless romantic and is determined to find her happily ever after in any way she can! It is chuck full of all the tropes and it is sure to make you laugh and swoon.

Kortney is not afraid to write FMCs that are maybe a little difficult to like at first. Jane makes some embarrassing decisions at the beginning of book, but she admits that some of the things she does are ridiculous and you still can’t help but root for her and love her all the same. The dual POV definitely helps because Walker is crushing big time and I LOVED it!

Walker is the best! There is so much more to him than just being a professional golfer and I loved seeing the layers of his personality. He really was a walking romance trope! He is so stinking swoony and I loved watching him and Jane together.

I listened to the audio and it such an enjoyable way to reread. The duet narration was SUPERB with every female voice read by the female narrator and every male quote read by the male narrator. It felt so immersive and I loved both narrators!

This book had so many humorous moments and fun scenes. I highly recommend picking it up.

⭐️ 3.75/5. This is a great book for people who love romance troupes and don’t mind a little cringe 😂 The FMC, Jane, has decided that she is determined to fall in love this summer through re-enacting romance troupes with the men in her town. The problem is, none of the plans she made go smoothly. And to make matters worse, a lot of the troupes begin happening naturally with her best friend’s older brother, Walker, who Jane has had a crush on since middle school. However, dating him goes against the friend code she made with her best friend when they were 13, and he’s a pro golfer who doesn’t live in Sunset Harbor.

This book has really funny moments that definitely make you cover your face and say “whyyyyyy?”, while also having some total swoon-worthy moments.

One critique I have is that the plot definitely had similarities to Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey. Plot points like a cocky pro golfer who loses his touch and a woman helps him get it back.

Other than that, there were a few spots where the plot dragged a little, but overall it was a fun read! I look forward to continuing the series.

Rating: 5 stars!

Jane + Walker. I love you both. The island vibes, the progolfer and sweet Jane who is just trying to help her grandmother. What is there no to love about this!?

I ate this book up in a single sitting!

Falling in love is easy. Finding the right guy to spend happily ever after with is the hard part. But Jane has a foolproof plan. She's taking the tropes that work in romance books and applying them to her love life. But the more she tries to force romance, the more feelings naturally progress with the one man who's off limits, Walker Collins, her best friend's brother.

Jane was one of those sunshiny characters that doesn't have a terrible past. She had loving parents who had a fairytale romance of their own (featuring the only one bed trope) and were still together. So of course she'd want a beautiful love story of her own.

Testing out microtropes to see which one would instigate her HEA was hilarious to see. When they backfired and Walker was there to witness it all, it drove her nuts.

Having intense chemistry with her secret childhood crush had her living in denial. She felt like it'd be a betrayal to her best friend who would be used numerous times by other girls back in the day to get closer to her brother. She also loved Sunset Harbor and Walker wasn't living there what with his pro golf career.

Walker decided to help her find her love match but even that backfired on him 😂 They did finally find their way to each other and made it work.

I enjoyed the dual narration on this audio as well. Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This contains a review of the audiobook.

Summer Ever After is the first book in the Falling For Summer series. This is a set of 7 books written by different authors set on a fictional island, Sunset Harbor. Each is a standalone story that has some crossover characters and events.

Kortney sets the stage with a fun twist on romcoms. We have our female lead determined to fall in love by dating using different tropes from romance books. I had read some of the other books in this series before this one that starts the series. I enjoyed seeing some of those events in this story.

The audiobook is done in one of my favorite ways. It is read in duet style. This is where the narrators read all of the dialog for their respective genders. The 2 narrators that read this book are not usually my favorites. They have read several romcoms that I have listened to and their cadences don't really change. It makes many of these stories run together and the characters don't stand out in my mind. I get them all confused often. I will say that this was one of the better books I have listened to that this duo has narrated. I think the duet does help because each of the narrators don't have to worry about doing voices for the opposite gender.

I think Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Not my favorite of the series I’ve listened to. A bit to cliche and cringy for me. But still loved the banter and friendships of the story.

4.5 Stars

Summer Ever After, by Kourney Keisel, is the first of the seven part Falling for Summer series of non-explicit contemporary romantic comedy books published by a variety of authors. This series takes place on a fictional island in Florida called Sunset Harbor. I read two of the subsequent books in the series before reading this one, but the books have overlapping/intertwining timelines so it doesn't really matter what order you read them in. The characters in each book are endearing and will make you want to read them all!

Jane is a native of Sunset Harbor and plans to live and work there the rest of her life. She loves working for the Mayor's office, and is involved with all the city events. However, despite her active social life, she is lonely and wants to find her true love. Her desperate hope is that she will stumble into love through a classic romantic comedy/book trope. It was hilarious hearing her discuss all the common tropes that romance readers are familiar with. What Jane didn't expect was to reconnect with her lifelong crush Walker, aka her best friend's brother, at the beginning of the summer. Walker agrees to help Jane find a love match, and in doing so, ends up falling in love with her.

This was a fun, lighthearted book. There were a few cheesy moments as Jane attempts dating several guys on the island, but the friend-to-lover element of the book was believable.

Lovers of romance books and romantic comedy movies will enjoy the nods to well known scenes and tropes. The audiobook was dual POV with both male and female voices. I really enjoyed the alternating voices when each gender spoke; it made it feel like a real conversation. The voices used aligned well with the personalities of the characters.

Content: Clean, kisses only. No swearing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the complementary ARC copy of this audiobook. My opinions are my own and are in no way influenced by the publisher.

Basic info:
- Contemporary romcom.
- Dual POV, 1st person, single timeline.
- Part of a series of standalone books written by different authors

What to expect:
- No spice
- Summer vibes
- Best friend's brother
- Golfer MMC
- FMC is obsessed with reading romance and romance tropes.
- Many, many romance tropes
- Small town

Synopsis and my opinion:
This book follows Jane (FMC) who lives in a small town and hosts a book club in a home for elderies. This summer she has decided to find her love using the best romance tropes, so she categorizes all the candidates by tropes and hopes for the best. On the other hand, we have Walker (MMC) a pro golfer who returned home to get his golf mojo back. Jane used to have a crush on Walker when they were young, he is her brother's best friend after all. So while Jane tries all the tropes, Walker manages to ruin almost all of them or maybe not so much ruin? This was an easy, sweet, and funny read. If you are a romance reader you'll have a lot of fun with all the tropes. A perfect book to read on vacation and you'll probably be even able to read in one or two sittings. Is it anything innovative or unforgettable? Not really, but it's still a lot of fun.

The audio:
The audio was good and I enjoyed listening to the audiobook, I didn't have any complaints about any of the narrators.

I received an ALC in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you to everyone involved in ALC distribution.

Kortney Keisel!!!! you wrote a really funny and bookish friendly book right here. I loved the banter between the characters and ALL of the bookish tropes…. Walker Collins is a dream, matching her tropes even when he didn’t even know he was doing so.

🧡 Best Friends Brother
💛 Golf Romance
🧡 Secret Crush
💛 All The Trope Cliches
🧡 Forbidden Love

I absolutely loved listening to this, however i was a bit off by Amanda Friday voice. Other than that this read is a very good one when you just want to escape.

Summer Ever After is the first book in the multi-author Falling for Summer series. The series is set on fictional Sunset Harbor Island, off the coast of Florida. The stories are closed-door romantic comedies (no sex or profanity) told in dual POV.

27-year-old Jane Hayes is the daughter of country music stars Tucker Hayes and Loretta Lee. She has lived her entire life on Sunset Harbor and is lonely now that her parents and best friend, Capri, have moved off the island. Jane works as the City Administrator, under the Mayor. She started a book club at the Seaside Oasis Retirement Center out of boredom. Now she has decided that she wants to get married and should use romantic tropes to connect with the few age-appropriate single men on the island.

28-year-old Walker Collins is a professional golfer who has returned to the island after being away for 10 years. After injuring his back last year, he is struggling with his game and wants to reconnect with his first coach, Luca. He has fired his manager and is skipping out on the Masters Tournament while he tries to get in the right mental state to compete. Walker is staying at his parents’ home while they are in Europe for the summer.

Jane is surprised to run into Walker, her best friend's older brother and the guy she has had a secret crush on since seventh grade. However, he has always been off-limits because he is her best friend's older brother and lives off the island. She tries to date every single man on the island but keeps bumping into Walker, with hilarious results. Naturally Capri has to interfere with their budding relationship, as if they don’t already have obstacles to a romance.

The best thing about Summer Ever After is the banter between Jane and Walker. The very real scenario of a professional athlete having both physical injuries and mental struggles is an excellent plot point. The residents of the Seaside Oasis Retirement Center add extra humor to the story. On the negative side, I found Jane’s sudden desire to get married by the end of the year immature and desperate. So many characters in the Falling for Summer series are introduced that I had to take notes. I understand that the books can be read in any order, but introducing everyone in Summer Ever After is harder on the reader.

I enjoyed listening to the dual-narrated Summer Ever After. The narrators, Amanda Friday and Andy Harrington, do an outstanding job giving life to Jane and Walker. I‘m looking forward to reading and listening to additional titles in the Falling for Summer series.

After purchasing the ebook from Amazon, I received an advance review copy (ARC) of the audiobook from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Walker Collins is a walking romance trope. Nothing has ever been so annoying and so satisfying at the same time.”

* Ah I love these romance loving characters
* Not the all these old ladies 😂
* The secondhand embarrassment!
* Oh my gosh I am cackling at all the ridiculous situations Jane gets herself into.
* This is all just too much I am dying 🤣
* Please no he’s gonna read her favorite book!
* Awww he’s so tender and I love it
* No! Don’t be a dummy!
* The way I cheered at the British open!
* Just awwwww!

Jane Hayes is basically me but funnier. I love the Summer of Jane Hayes and all of her attempts at making the tropes come to life. She is so fun and spunky and she made me laugh.

Do I love Walker Collins? Yes I do. He’s a charmer and makes me want to find a hot golfer 😏 I loved how he opened up to his family and let Jane help him.

Sunset Harbor is my new favorite place and I wish it was real! All the people who live there are hilarious and I can’t wait to see them in the books to come.

“Anyway, thank you for the Heimlich.”

“Because when you finally figure out who you want to spend the rest of your life with, the rest of your life can’t start soon enough.”

“I’ve never wanted anything more. Jane Hayes is my future and my forever.”

Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC. All opinions are my own.

So while this book was really cute, its was also really cheesy for me. It gives kind of a Hallmark summer movie vibe, so if that's your thing, you should definitely give this one a read. Jane is determined to find love this summer by acting out romance tropes she loves on guys in her town. Walker is her best friends brother who just happens to come back home and accidentally ruins her dates and trope attempts. It's light, fast paced, witty and fun. I also loved how the audio narration had the narrators read their characters speaking parts no matter who's POV it was.

Read if you like:
Sports Romances (he's a pro golfer)
Best Friends Brother
High School Crush
Small Town Island Romance
Dual POV
Closed Door Romance

I’m so enjoying this multi-author Falling For Summer series set in Summer Harbor, Florida - sounds like such a cute little island with the most perfect town I would love to visit, and people I would love to meet!

I’ve listened to two of the books now, with two in my queue up next, and I’m really getting invested in it all (characters, town, drama, all of it!). I’m falling for these characters and I can definitely say they’re brilliant at bringing them to life - all of the authors. I can’t wait to dive into the rest! I highly recommend these first couple and checking the characters and blurbs for the next couple, they’re going to be fantastic, too. Besties and siblings and failed dates finding their true loves!

I absolutely adored this book - I thought Beachy Keen was brilliant (it was my first read), but Summer Ever After was utter perfection with the story of Jane going through a multitude of romance tropes and trying to date every available single guy on the island (there are not many) to find “the one”… her BFF’s golf pro brother returns home and tries his best to be her one but she won’t let him, because he’s off limits. Such a cute and sweet story!

Narrated by new to-me voices from Amanda Friday and Andy Harrington, they both deserve the same 5-star rating as Kortney Keisel gets for this beautiful book. Their performances were fantastic. If you didn’t get it from the above, I definitely suggest you grab this book, this whole series, and don’t forget to pick it up on audio! This was my first Kortney Keisel book though I’ve been wanting to read her books for a while. I will be grabbing more, soon!

I received an advance listen copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media (and read along through KU), and this is my honest feedback.

This book is a fun, flirty and clean romance that follows Walker and Jane. It gives of Hallmark vibes and I am here for it. Jane is a romance reader who is on the hunt to find love by the end of summer. She has book troupes that she loves and goes on a quest to find the right romance troupe for her dates. Walker is a pro golfer who is home for the summer because he needs to reset his mental state when it comes to golf. Walker and Jane have great banter and chemistry.

This audiobook is told in duet narration which was fantastic. The narrators did a great job bringing to life the characters and their romance. The narration is 5/5 stars.

Read if you enjoy
* best friend's brother
* sports romance (he is a golfer)
* she plays hard to get
* secret crush
* Small town island setting
* flirty hero
* dual POV

I wish it wouldn’t end ever!

Live on an island and want to find love, but also obsessed with books. Start a list of all your fave tropes, and make your way through them one by one. Perfect plan, except your besties brother ends of being the love interest you didn’t expect.

This was so cute and funny, it had laugh out loud moments and I loved watching the FMC realize her worth throughout her journey!

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the advance copy. Summer Ever After was a cute, light read. This felt like it should be a YA book, with a plot and FMC that was a little immature for an adult read. I thought the idea of incorporating the tropes was fun, but the FMC was really cringey. I appreciated the dual POV for this reason since the MMC chapters were much better. I maaaay try another book in the series to see what those are like, since I enjoyed the small town and think there could be potential for some good stories. If you want a cutesy, silly beach romance, this may interest you.

I have been hearing such good things about this new Falling for Summer series! And I can add my whole hearted approval to the first book, Summer Ever After. I loved listening to this wonderfully fun and romantic summer read. It’s the second book that I have listened to in duet narration and I am a big fan! I loved both the male and female narrators and thought they did an excellent job bringing this sweet story to life.

One of the best things about this book is the way Jane tries to create various book trope situations on the many dates she goes on, in the hopes that one of those tropes will lead to love. Yet, these dates keep falling flat and there is no spark with any of the men she goes out with. The tropes just don’t seem to work the way Jane expects them to.

But you know what does work? It’s one of the things I adored about this story. Walker, Jane’s long-time crush, and her best friend’s brother, seems to fall into completing these tropes with Jane without even trying! I love the way attraction grew between these two, leading to a friendship and then into something more, which neither of them thought was a possibility.

I loved this story from start to finish and these two characters just made me so happy! I’m looking forward to reading and listening to all of the books in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I'll start by saying the audiobook was done really well. I loved the dual narration.
I really enjoyed the parts of the story with Jane and Walker. They had incredible chemistry and Walker's flirting was perfect. I loved the two of them together. If this book was just them getting to know each other and working through their issues I would have probably given this book 5 stars. I didn't like that Capri had such a say in their relationship. Her warning them away from each other was over done and started to get really annoying. Jane constantly worrying about what Capri thought started to ruin the book for me. If your adult friend has such a problem with you (an adult) and her adult brother dating, that's on her. This micro-trope is my least favorite, even though I love the best friend's brother trope. Speaking of tropes....Jane seemed really desperate. Not sure why she had to fall in love by the end of summer. Then she went and dating every single man in this series. Then her forcing tropes/micro-tropes was completely unhinged and screamed desperation. I get that she was lonely, but she could have just dated and had fun getting to know someone, not try to force a relationship. Other than those 2 things, I loved Walker and Jane
