Sci-fi action story that for me gets better as it goes along. Shannon has just been woken from long term cryogenic sleep, told she knows something but no explanations given, told that the cost of being woken up means she is to be treated as an indentured slave - or she can go on a space mission which may pay off some time served. What a choice, guess which she takes; trusting no one, because something is very off. Exciting enough, but I was frustrated that in all the mayhem of her revived life she almost immediately has an uncontrollable need to jump into bed. I would have thought there were more pressing issues needing addressed. Thank you to Wild Rose Press, Inc and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine freely given.

Unexpected Revival by E.L. Roux
I read this courtesy Net Galley and Victory Editing. This is a fresh, fast-paced story using unusual elements and unexpected twists. The shock of waking up from cryogenic stasis after a millennium was bad enough, but to find out that the Earth was destroyed? The powers that be that woke Shannon up figure that she has to know something about that. Does she? Maybe—or maybe not. She doesn’t remember—it was a long time ago, after all. Together with D’lane, an alien male who’s also found himself out of place and to whom she finds herself attracted, she has to find answers—but he has his own agenda. This was a fun, enjoyable read that had me flipping the digital pages as fast as I could.
