Macy is prejudiced against Wood, thinking that he is an unemployed playboy, who relies on his family’s wealth. The truth is that Wood is gainfully employed and has been secretly pining over her for the past six years, while she was with her ex Spencer.
One day, Wood proposes to be her plus one at the wedding, to make it less awkward for her since Spencer will be there too. From fake dating, he soon becomes her safety net – caring for her when she is unwell, saving her from awkward conversations and anticipating what she needs before she even needs it 😍.
Wood is the ultimate cinnamon roll hero and I can’t help falling for him. I liked how he always ensures that Macy is truly consenting and physically well, without pushing her too far. The menus were like 110/100 points for him!

This book was amazing and blew my expectations away!!
Macy and Wood are the ultimate fake dating troupe. I absolutely love this couple! A he falls first, golden retriever (you’ll see why I used this reference eventually) boyfriend you can’t help but love. This is definitely one to skip your whole (never ending) TBR list and read first, I didn’t regret it one bit and I doubt anyone else will either! I love Rae Kennedy’s books but this one may have taken 1st place.
Cinnamon roll mmc, he falls first, only one bed and fake dating.
I read this as a standalone since I haven’t read the first book, and it works just as fine to do so! I enjoyed my time reading this book. They are all in the same friend group and are going to Bex’s and Jake’s wedding, which Macy’s ex also will be present. Whom she definitely wants to avoid getting close to. Wood offers to be her fake boyfriend for the wedding, so Spencer will back off.
I liked the main characters, and Wood – being the cinnamon roll hero we all love to read about. Charming, caring type who’s there for Macy whenever she needs him. Decent spice scenes, and a good story. Recommended read from me.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this. All opinions expressed are my own.
I really enjoyed this book. I can actually see this book becoming a movie!
This story follows Wood and Macey who pretend to be a couple for a friends wedding week. And we follow their week with fun activities and learning more about each other. I also really enjoyed the side characters. I believe they all brought the story together.
Make Me Want it Too would be in my opinion a fluffy romance where you can crawl up and read in a few hours 😍
It’s such a rarity that I love a sequel even more than the first book (which was also a 5 star read for me), but BRAVO Rae Kennedy 👏👏 You completely blew my expectations out of the water with this book! It covers such deep topics, all handled with grace. I loved the characters and their personalities so much!
From Macy’s self confidence issues after a 6 year relationship with a guy who never valued her to the anxiety surrounding her diabetes, this girl needed a man who’d boost her up and make her his queen. Enter Wood, who’s been sitting patiently in the friend zone for 6 years pining over her. The way he took care of Macy and was always there when she needed him warmed my heart and at times even brought tears to my eyes. He was so kind and gentle with her. 🥹♥️
I said this in my review of the first book, but it rings true once again - this author has a way of writing spicy scenes that fit perfectly into the storyline. I never once felt cringey or like the sexual aspects were overtaking the story. They enhanced the characters and their connection instead of overshadowing it. That’s a tough feat for many authors to accomplish.
I also loved how Livvy and Noah made appearances in this book, and we got to see more of the evolution of their relationship as well. 🫶
This series is my first from Rae Kennedy, but I look forward to reading more from her collection. She’s no doubt a hidden gem indie author. 💎 I hope there’s more to come!

4⭐️ Thank you NetGalley and Rake Publishing for an advanced copy of Make Me Want It Too.
Macy has just broken up with her boyfriend of six years and now she is the maid of honor for her best friend and her ex is the best man. Wood has been in love with Macy for years but she has only seen him as a friend until Wood offers to be her fake boyfriend for the wedding festivities. The lines between fake and real start to get blurred.
I enjoyed this book-fake dating, forced proximity, he falls first.
Wood is the ultimate cinnamon roll MMC. He will do whatever needed to make Macey's life easier. Wood is Macey's date to her bff's wedding where her very recent ex is the best man. Not wanting pity she has Wood come with. Fake dating, one bed, it's always been you.
While the story is very cute, I just wish there was something more to the story. Overall very good. I hope Bex's story is next.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
In this story, we follow Macy, who has just broken up with her boyfriend of over six years. Now, she has to face him again at the wedding of her best friend, who is marrying his brother. To make things more bearable, she brings Wood as her fake boyfriend, not realizing he's had feelings for her for years. As the week unfolds, their fake relationship becomes increasingly confusing, making it hard to distinguish between what's real and what's not.
While Macy's insecurities and neediness are understandable given her recent breakup, they became a bit annoying after a while. I didn't like how she relied so much on others for her self-esteem, and I was disappointed not to see more personal growth from her. On the other hand, Wood was an absolute sweetheart. From the beginning, he was completely supportive and thoughtful, always trying to figure out what Macy needed, which I found incredibly heartwarming.
Overall, the book was okay. The plot was enjoyable, though I could see where the story was going—which was fine, but I felt it was missing something. I was really hoping for a bit more depth or surprise in the end.
I enjoyed this story between Macy and Wood, as I previously hadn't read the first book it was easy to get into the story straight away without feeling I had missed out on anything story wise.
I liked the main characters, with Wood being the most charming, caring type of guy who puts his love interests first before anyone else.
Macy's character of having T1D was great at bringing what diabetes sufferers have to endure daily to everyone's attention and a welcomed storyline.
Kind of saw where this book was headed when reading it though.
The spice level in this was intense and when they finally got together it was a weird encounter for me. If you are not into ass play this book is not for you!
Overall I enjoyed it but I still felt something was missing from it.
Make Me Want It Too is the second book of the Make Me series by Rae Kennedy. The moment I got approved for this ARC, I could not wait to start on this book. Wood and Macy's side story during the first book, Make Me Dream of You, was so nicely done that it got me really excited to read their story and boy, did it not disappoint. The love story of Wood and Macy was beautiful and so heartwarming. I always like romance books that makes me root for the couple. Wood is your typical cinnamon roll MMC who's been secretly pining for Macy for six years. He is the most attentive, sweet, sexy and loving boyfriend and he is just so perfect for Macy. Macy's been in a long six-year relationship with somebody who doesn't see her worth and value, and to see her be worshiped by Wood was so satisfying. Wood is your true definition of down bad. She truly deserved it though. I also love that we got glimpses of Noah and Livvy's relationship as well, which is a continuation of the first book. It makes me want to read the third book only because I'm curious about what else is in store for Wood and Macy. I truly enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting and I highly recommend. The only problem with Rae's books is that it seems to be cut short and I feel like there could be more. For example for this book, most of the it was about their time being fake boyfriend and girlfriend and I would've wanted for more pages to show their actual relationship. But other than that, this is such agreat read.
Thank you, NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I will definitely be on the lookout for the application for an advanced copy for the third book.
i absoulutly loved this story. macey is a diabetic nurse and wood is asecurity consultin.macey getsdumped by sean boyfriend of six years and needs a date her friend weeding. thats were woods come into play. so good. love the charachters. the plot
Very cute & steamy!
Fake dating, cinnamon roll MMC and one bed? Sign me up! I knew I had to pick this up once I heard the plot. It sounded adorable and like it was going to be a steamy read. I am glad to report that I was correct in my assumption.
Macy & Wood were so cute!! I loved how down bad Wood was for Macy. She's his dream girl and once he hears she's single he's a man on a mission to win her heart. Wood is supportive too. He's basically a dream man haha. Macy is a wonderful heroine. I felt she was relatable and I liked the diabetic representation.
There aren't a lot of steamy books but the scenes we did get were hot! I mean the ass play scene was *phew*!!
A cute, steamy & fun read for those who love fake dating and a man who falls hard.
Oh my gosh!
This book was absolutely amazing. I literally read it in hours I could not put it down.
It has fake dating, friends to lovers, diabetes rep, one bed trope and it was all done perfectly!
Woods stole my heart from the beginning and made me fall in love with him! The love and care he had for Macy made me swoon!🥹

4.5 star read...
Thank you to Victory Editing and NetGalley for this ARC.
This was a quick read told in Macy and Wood's alternating POV. While this could be read as a standalone, I felt I appreciated the story more having read the previous book. I would have liked to have seen more of Macy and Spencer's relationship to show how he treated her and why she acted/felt the way she did. As the parent of a type 1 diabetic, I appreciated the representation and thought it was done pretty well. There was only one scene that I felt wasn't all that accurate, but the disease is unpredictable if nothing else and everyone is different so maybe it's not all that far-fetched. Overall I have fallen in love with this group and can't wait to read more.
"To all my shy girlies who also like a little ass play" what a dedication! If I said this didn't grab my attention instantly, I'd be lying!
I thought I loved Noah and Livs story, but Wood and Macy are amazing, What chemistry! From the first page, I was hooked, and I couldn't put it down. The sweet, caring nature of Wood was sexy and the fact he was so smitten by Macy added to the dynamics of their developing relationship.
Now, back to the dedication, wow! What a scene! Let me tell you, when you read it, you will know exactly what I mean!

tropes: Cinnamon roll mmc, fake dating, one bed
Make me want it too is the story of Macy, a diabetic L and D nurse, and Wood and security consultant and playboy because he can’t have the one woman he’s been pining for.
Right after Macy’s best friend gets engaged, Macy’s 6 year relationship with Spencer ends because he has no real plans for moving forward. It’s obvious that he has not treated her well in their relationship which leaves her constantly on edge and second guessing herself. He has effectively destroyed her self esteem.
But now, because her BFF is marrying Spencer’s brother Macy will be forced to interact with him during the pre-wedding events. Enter Wood who has been in love with Macy for years to save the day. Like the ooey gooey cinnamon roll he is, he offers to pretend to be her boyfriend and shield her from any issues that might arise from being so close to Spencer for a week.
This book is hilarious! I want to be a part of this friend group soooooo badly and I love how Wood is so good at the snarky backhanded compliments when he’s standing up for Macy to Spencer and his family.
I did find it interesting that despite presenting himself as a cocky and self assured playboy, Wood seems to think he’s doing everything wrong with Macy- like for all his experience with women he doesn’t understand that women also cry when they’re happy.
This book was such a satisfying and enjoyable read. Thank you to NetGalley and Rake Books for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
MAKE ME WANT IT TOO - RAE KENNEDY - ARC
Honestly one of the best books I've read in a while, I couldn't put it down, I read it start to finish in about 3 hours! It has everything you need in a romance book, it's funny, heartwarming, beautiful. Literally everything you want and expect from a romance.
It's quite spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I loved it! Would recommend it to romance readers! It is book two in a series but I never felt as though I missed out on anything by not reading book 1 so can deffo be read as a standalone! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Make Me Want It Too is my first book from this author, and I enjoyed this standalone romance story a lot. Macy has been with her boyfriend Spencer for 6 years and their relationship seems to be at a standstill. That standstill becomes even more apparent when her best friend Bex announces her engagement to her boyfriend Jake after being together for months. Macy wants more but her boyfriend Spencer is comfortable just where they are in their relationship, and their discussion leads to their breakup. Macy now needs a date to Bex's wedding because Bex's fiancé Jake, is Spencer's brother. Wood is not only in their circle of friends, but he has secretly been in love with Macy for years. He knows Macy deserves more than what Spencer has been giving her, and he gets his chance to prove she deserves more when he pretends to be her date for the wedding and its activities. Their story was one that was filled with greats friends and family, it was sweet, funny, and steamy. There's also family drama, jealousy, a lot of crying on Macy's part which was a bit much and had a sweet that left me with a smile on my face. This may have been my first book from this author, but it definitely won't be my last. I enjoyed this story and lot and would recommend it to all of my romance loving friends.
Coming out of a 6 year relationship with a narcissist, Macy struggles with feeling wanted and being accepted for who she is. Wood has had a crush on Macy for 6 years, always hanging in the background watching her being put down by her boyfriend.
After Macy and her ex break up, she has to go to a wedding where her ex is the best man and she's the maid of honor. Enter Wood, who agrees to be her fake boyfriend. These two are so cute, yet a little awkward with each other. Both fight feelings they have for each other, anticipating they aren't enough for the other.
I loved how supportive Wood was with Macy. He was patient and constantly learning what she needed. Even overcoming his anxiety with needles to help her while she was in a diabetic crisis. I absolutely loved how much he cared for her. There were some inconsistencies with Wood's character, but he was overall very love-able.
Thanks for the opportunity to read an arc copy of Wood and Macy's story!
