I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I am a mood reader and it is really hard for me to read something simply because it’s out, and the second this book appeared on my kindle I dropped everything and started reading.

oliver and charlee were college pen pals who wrote letters to each other for a degree program. they quickly became friends, exchanging little jokes and details about their lives, but that snowballed until they were a little more than friends. they arranged to meet each other but when oliver never showed up, they lost contact and after 5 years they are seeing each other for the first time to work on a documentary.
“every time I look at you, you whisk me away to my favorite place. it’s you. you’re where I love to be the most.” the man just cadillac says things like this and expects me not to fall in love???
this book was so sweet, the characters were well developed, the plot kept me reading until almost 3am. and most importantly, it made me want to fall in love and find my soulmate. elodie colliard you have found a forever fan with me. can’t wait for the release.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the chance to read this arc. This was a cute read with some really sweet moments. Overall a 3.5 star read for me.
Charlee and Oliver were once penpals, building a friendship through written letters. Their friendship eventually turned to something deeper but things didn't go quite as they planned. Years later, Charlee is jet setting around the world as a reporter and jumps at the chance to save her place of work by helping shoot a documentary in British Columbia's Great Bear Rainforest. Everything seems great until she realizes who she'll be working with. A twist of fate brings this could have been couple back together but can they put their pain aside to get through this project that will impact both their lives?
Oliver is the PERFECT cinnamon roll boyfriend. As soon as he described himself as a nerdy guy who would read fantasy books and loved being in the outdoors I was sold. And then to find out on top of that that he looks like the “Canadian version of Sam Claflin”, I mean hello!? Immediately a new favorite fictional boyfriend. He was so sweet and caring and thoughtful and protective and the mouth on him when in the bedroom 🥵🌶️. I think you get the point. I absolutely loved him.
As for Charlee, there were parts of her I enjoyed. I found her funny at times, I liked her take not shit from men vibes and I can relate to her not being able to stay put for very long. She was a slow burn character for me, eventually growing on me more as the pages went on. However, even with that said, I also found her attitude a little unnecessary at times. It’s so clear that Oliver is a nice guy and after all their letters, her inability to give him the benefit of the doubt was odd. The conflict in the book felt forced rather than a natural and understandable one.
I would have liked to see the author rebuild the relationship between them more. It’s been years since they lost contact, a lot has changed, they’ve changed. That means they don’t fully know each anymore. Everything just felt a little rushed during the last half of the book and the pieces just weren't quite fitting together for me.
All the components to a good romance book are here. And as I said, overall it was a cute story and I loved the found family angle with Oliver and his friends. I think when it came to Oliver and Charlee though, I just needed a little more massaging in order to be a higher star read for me.
I knew from the start that I was going to be in love with these characters but I didn't expect to love them this much. It's only certain books that can manage to make me ball my eyes out crying with happiness from reading the epilogue, but seeing these two have their happy ever after was everything I needed!
Charlee and Oliver had an incredible love story in this book stemming back years, through letters they wrote to each other in college. But to be able to see the bond they made through the letters transform into the beautiful connection they had at the end of the book was absolutely stunning. This book made me feel all the feels and I loved every single page.
There is one thing I know I can count on in a book written by Elodie Colliard and it is that I am going to be 100% obsessed with the mmc! The men in her books are absolutely wonderfull characters that feel things so hard and love people even harder. Oli was the perfect cinnamon roll mmc and I loved him so much, he is one of those characters that I would want to meet in real life so I could give him a huge hug and check that he is ok, because this man was just so precious and must be protected at all cost!
Thank you to Elodie Colliard and Netgalley for an eArc of this book, I am incredibly grateful to have been able to read this early and cannot wait to see what Elodie writes next!
A small town romance that leads us to the rainforest! Yes, please. Unbearably Yours was just that book. Pick this one up.
I had the pleasure of reading one of the first versions of Unbearably Yours and I must say that it is one of the loveliest, coziest romance book I had read in a long time.
Charlee and Oliver are endearing, lovable characters. The letters they exchange add a fantastic rhythm to the book, which allows you to follow their relationship in two different eras. Seeing them overcome all obstacles to finally find each other and heal together was a wonderful, intimate experience.
A book that makes you want to bundle up next to a fire with a hot cup of cocoa in hand to read and forget the world.
Cannot recommend enough!
4.5 stars
This book was so sweet and fun with just the right amount of angst. The tension between these characters was immaculate and I loved seeing them reconnect. I’m not the biggest fan of dual timeline in books but I liked how it was done in this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC!
I got to beta read this so it obviously is going to hold a special place in my heart forever. Also Charlee is me basically if I had tremendous bone structure and less social anxiety.
The characters in this little world are so dear to me, and Charlee is so dear to me. And while I usually loathe the miscommunication trope, this one actually does make sense - I too would be like “hey how about you never speak to me again” 😂
But the way that both of them YEARN for the friendship they had while simultaneously trying to either respect the others boundaries (Oliver) or fiercely guard their own heart (Charlee) is so tender and heartfelt. They’re both mad for different reasons, hurt for different reasons, and trying to not make the same mistakes again.
Also, there are bears. Which is obviously a huge plus.
I liked the gentleness of this one - the way we see how they both fit into their own worlds and how those two come together. It feels autumnal and cozy and tastes like s’mores 🥰
Gimme all the slow burn and pining and I'm your gal! Love me a small town romance and all I wanted to do was drive to Pine Falls and enjoy fall there.
Charlee and Oliver were stubborn but so sweet and soft and when they finally gave in, it was the most rewarding moment.
If you're looking for the perfecf second chance romance, you won't be disappointed with this one!
