My five year old daughter that loves birds and always watches out for them absolutely loved this book. It had concise information about birds and how their type and habitat and diet forms each bird to look and act the way they do.

Thank you to the publisher for providing a copy of this book for us to read and review! My children, 5 & 8, listened intently as I read So Many Ways to be a Bird. They loved all the fun facts about the birds as well as the colorful artwork. I appreciated the additional information at the end of the book too, which dove deeper into bird adaptation and provided thoughtful questions to ask children. I would definitely recommend this to others when it’s released. It would fit well with a unit on birds or zoology.

Cute book that teaches about many of the different types of birds and how not all birds have the same abilities. I enjoyed how the basic text had a rhyming meter, and the addition of little facts about specific types of birds was really nice. The illustrations were also nice

I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I am always looking for children’s books that are informative and engaging, and this one really fit the bill. I love that it is great for multiple ages. For young children, it would be a great starting point for discussing similarities and differences. This book is also great for older children with the wide array of facts and impressive vocabulary.

The illustrations were also a highlight. They were so detailed and clear. Different birds were easily identifiable.

This book would be a great addition to any home or classroom

I love the illustrations in this book. They are so beautiful and eye catching and the perfect way to teach kids all about the different ways to be a bird. Highly informational but fun at the same time.

Thanks to Star Bright Books and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Super informational book with unbelievably impressive illustrations! I learned a lot about birds, and I definitely think that young readers will, too. However, I found myself getting quite bored with the book quickly, and I think that kids will feel the same. The ratio of story writing to factual writing was off-balance, and it takes the entertainment value out of the book. But, I really appreciated how the author chose a motif and a theme and stuck with it throughout the entire book. Readers will love this. Lastly, the illustrations were breathtakingly accurate and beautiful, and it is apparent that the illustrator has a lot of talent. Each bird looked so realistic, I felt as if they were going to jump off the pages and take flight.
Bravo, illustrator!

My five year old is fascinated with animals and has a big collection of books about them. He loved this one! Getting to see all the different looking birds and a fact about each of them was so much fun for him. There were a couple we knew but also some new birds we enjoyed learning about. His favorite is a cardinal so we were happy to see them but now we will be searching to find a Fish Hawk one day!

This beautifully illustrated book begins with what all birds have in common and then presents their diversity in all its glory. There are so many ways to be a bird! They have different physical characteristics and abilities. They have diversity in how they fly, how they make nests, what they eat.

This book is a great way for children to learn about birds and instill a curiosity about them. There is a section of additional information concerning their adaptations that adults can share with young children or older ones can read on their own.

I learned the sad fact that there are 3 billion fewer birds today than 30 years ago and the author lists things that a family or child can do to help preserve our bird populations. A worthy read for all!

Thanks to #NetGalley and @Starbrightbooks for the DRC.
