ARC- Review

Forbidden Games is a combination of two previously released stories by Katee Robert, that are re-releasing January of 2025.

I was already a fan of Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series, so I knew I could count on her for a quick read full of well written spice and these two stories definitely delivered on that. The plot for both were very fast paced, which made for a great small distraction that didn’t require much mental awareness to keep track of. I enjoyed the stories, and the spice was the best part of both stories. I will definitely keep adding Katee Robert books to my TBR!

Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is my second book review for Katee Robert and I just love her shorter stories with two in one book! I really enjoyed the characters in both stories.

The first story is about Gideon and Lucy. She is a successful lawyer wanting to find a husband to move up to partner. He is a man that has fawned over her for years letting his best friend get the girl only to have him cheat on her. Now that she's single and ready to settle down, instead of matchmaking her with other guys he wants her to himself. The second story is about Roman (who is in the first story) and Allie. She runs a business that soon may go under and he has an investor that wants it. He goes to an island that she is vacationing on and unbeknownst to each other they fall into bed together and really enjoy themselves, until they exchange names. She doesn't know whether to trust they can have a relationship or if he's in it just so she chooses his investor.

Both stories were quick easy romance reads with spice and love when the guy knows what he wants and it's the girl. I would highly recommend and can't wait for the next one!

Thanks to NetGalley, Katee Robert and Harlequin Romance for allowing me to review this ARC!

Katee Robert's is one of the queens of spice. I received this arc of the remastered Make Me Want and Make Me Crave, now called Forbidden Games, in exchange for an honest review. A big thanks to Harlequin Romance, NetGalley and Katee Robert's herself.

Make Me Want is a short, spicy ex's ex-best friend romance that will go down in 1-2 sittings. We've got:

- Fake Dating / Sex Training
- Ex's Best Friend
- Jealous and Possessive MMC
- Unrequited love
- Marriage of Convenience
- And a got bit of spice

This was a fun, low-stakes read. I love the fake dating or "practicing" trope, and we get a lot of that as our FMC is coming back from heartbreak and trying to get ready to get back out there and find a husband.

Make Me Crave is the second book in the series. It was a spicy, short romance with:
- Anonymous Sex / One night stand
- Forced Proximity
- Enemies with Benefits
- kind of Grumpy / Sunshine
- a lot of spice

Unfortunately I did not like Make Me Crave as much as Make Me Want. I didn’t feel as much chemistry from the two characters, even though I liked their individual backstories more. I'm not a big fan of insta-love, so it was hard for me to believe they went from anonymous sex to I love you in a week.

Both books are very spicy! So, they're good for when you're in the mood!

Two stories in one book! The first one is about Lucy and Gideon. Lucy and Gideon have known each other for years. She asked him to teach her about trust, touch...etc.The second is about Allie and Roman. They had terrific vacation sex. They find out that they are rivals afterwards...

It's very steamy as it is a Katee Roberts book. Lots of sexy scenes. The relationships are intense. Great chemistry and great characters. The male characters are all rich, powerful and alphas...... Fun books.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Thank You Net Galley and Harlequin Publishing for giving me the ARC on this book.

In true Katee Roberts fashion, these two novellas are full of spice and angst. In the first book Make me Want, Gideon (High Price Head Hunter) and Lucy (Tough as Nails attorney). Gideon lives with the guilt of knowing Lucy's engagement was ruined by a cheating ex. Lucy asks him to help her find a husband and well the guilt is replaced with Love that Gideon has harbored for 6 years. In book two Make me Crave its Roman (Investor) and Allie (Women's shelter and gym). Its an insta love and its so spicy!

I will have a paper copy of this book Katee Roberts is a must buy and her books never disappoint.

Thank you for the chance to read this early. I liked this series but I am a little confused as to why books 1 and 2 (which are referenced in books 3 and 4) and in the second book for these repackages. It's not like I didn't read all of them and like them, just curious.

Both books in this make me series had some commonality. Sexy vibes, great alpha heros, deeply in love with the heroines, heroines needing help. Yes the steam level was realistic very high amd the books very entertaining.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!!

Forbidden Games was the prior book, I'm realizing, to the series I had read - and follows Gideon and Roman. Each have their own short novellas in the book with plentyyy of spice, as to be expected from a Katee Robert book. You get a well-written billionaire (ish?) romance with possessive but fair male heroes and classic tropes. Nothing special, but certainly a good way to pass the time. Gideon's story is a "teach-me" story, when he's hired as a matchmaker for Lucy despite having feelings for her. Lucy is getting over an emotionally abusive ex and feels the need to relearn sex and how to make it interesting. The two together have sizzling chemistry, and I love the element of guilt that it all plays into the story. Roman's story I've previously attempted to read and found less interesting, but was fun nonetheless. Overall, another fun predictable romance that scratches that particular itch - with always, plenty of spice.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this book. This book contains two stories, Make Me Want and Make Me Crave. The book is the second volume in Katee Robert Make Me Series. The first book is the story of Lucy and Gideon. This story is very spicy and has a few good twists and turns. The second book is the story of Allie and Roman. This story is spicy and has a few unexpected moments. I am a big Katee Robert fan and love all of her books. If you read the first volume Illicit Temptations, you will love this book. Both the main male characters are billionaire alpha heroes and the the main characters all have some connection to volume one. This can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend reading this book.

The title makes perfect sense now that I have read this book! Actually, Robert wrote two stories that compose this book. I loved the first one the most and found the spice level to be over the top. Off the charts! It was a great read. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I'm a huge fan of Robert now!

Format: NetGalley ebook
Genre: Contemporary fiction, Romance

Book 1: Make Me Want
Characters: Gideon & Lucy
Spice level:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lucy is a defense attorney and looking for a marriage of convenience to help her make partner in her law office. Gideon is her ex-husband’s best friend who has always had a crush on Lucy.

When Lucy reaches out to Gideon requesting help with finding her a new husband, he is hesitant but wants to spend more time with her. The more time he spends helping find her a new man, the more he realizes how much he wants to be her next husband.

Such a cute read and in true Katee Robert fashion, the spice is top notch!! 🥵

Book 2: Make Me Crave
Characters: Roman & Allie
Spice level:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

He is her Adonis, she is his Aphrodite. 🥰

Allie is a gym owner and also runs a women’s shelter. She is barely getting by financially and is stressed about keeping both of her passions open to the women that need them the most.

Roman is in finance and is on a deadline to invest in/buy out her businesses. After they meet and form an instant connection, they soon learn that the other has the potential to destroy them. He could potentially destroy her businesses and she could destroy his next investment opportunity.

I love instalove stories, I love plus size FMC’s, I love when the main characters have hot chemistry!! This book had it all!

Katee Robert is an auto buy for me, I have loved every book they have written and was so excited when I received an arc of this title!

Thank you to @harlequinbooks and @netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this title.

Every single book I’ve read by Katee has been great and this one (or 2 really) was no different! They truly know how to create characters that feel like real believable people, that you truly fall for and want to keep reading. The sexy scenes are just that, incredibly sexy… but they also know how to hit you in the gut with “feels”. I truly didn’t want to put this down and read it until 3 am yesterday 😅 I hope Katee always sticks to being an author and that they never get burnt out and stop (obviously I would support them but damn I’d be sad)
