Just a quick note before I jump into the review. I'm not sure why this is Volume 2; it really should be Volume 1. If you are going to read both, I say start with this one because it takes place before Volume 1.
Make Me Want was so good. It was my favorite of the Make Me Series. Gotta love a 'teach me' set up. And the pining. So good.
Make Me Crave had a really good one-night stand set up as well. I really liked how they continued to call each other Adonis and Aphrodite even after leaning the other's name.
This is classic Katee Robert and if you are a fan, I'd definitely recommend you read this.
Forbidden Games Vol. 2 consists of the previously published Make Me Want and Make Me Crave. Both stories are fairly quick reads.
I wan to start off by saying I am a Katee Robert fan. Her Wicked Villains and Dark Olympus series wer fantastic and sucked me into the romance genre. That being said, I am disappointed. Forbidden Games Vol. 2 featured two very generic, run of the mill romance books. To me, there wasn’t anything taht was really memorable and stood out to me.
The miscommunication between Gideon and Lucy was very frustrating, thet were so quick to jump to conclusions instead of just having an open dialogue. Allie was almost worse. She straight up refused to talk to Roman when he brought up any topic she wasn’t comfortable.
There was a lot of spice in both stories, which is appreciated, however, it felt generic and repetitive. Some of the language used throughout the book felt dated. Th ending of each story was kind of abrupt.
Forbidden Games: Vol. 2 is perfect for readers are looking for a basic, spicy romance book, MMCs whose priorities shift from work to love, and FMCs learning more about themselves.
Thank you to Katee Robert and NetGalley for the ARC.
Oh my goodness - I have no words. This book was absolutely delicious. It’s been so long since I’ve read a book that has had every trope I love. This was a great balance of plot and spice, and the spice was *perfect*. I enjoyed reading this book every single page. 10/10 spice🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, 10/10 banter, 10/10 character growth.
i am conflicted on how to rate this properly, all things considered. the first story was a solid 4/5 for me. the second was more of a 2.5/3.
i absolutely enjoyed this set of stories, however i did one more than the other. while both stories meshed well together with overlapping characters, make me crave wasn’t my favorite thing i’ve read of katee roberts.
make me want, however, was soo delicious and i devoured it from start to finish!!! ex’s best friend is a trope that never fails to entertain me and i loved every second of it.
allie and roman’s part of this felt a bit too rushed for my liking but they had lots of potential and chemistry that could have made for a different story than what it did.
thank you to netgalley for this arc :)
This one was good, but I felt like it was missing something. I really did enjoy reading and the characters were great. The plot was also good!
MY QUEEN. Anything Katee writes or even looks at, I'm buying and LOVING. This was no exception. Loved these two novels.
These books were just exactly what I needed when traveling and a little under the weather. They are short and fast and steamy and were easy to get into and enjoy. These short stories are about a group of friends each finding their love story. They aren't super plot heavy based on length but were just enough to keep me engaged and bingeing while busy!
Second chances, enemies to lovers - hesitant females and the determined males that won't give up. Plenty of spice and strong characters and storyline keep things moving to the two HEAs, yep twice the fun!
Just as with the first book in this new release of the novellas, a small readers note must be stated:
If you are looking for Katee Robert's fantasy series style depth and world building, this may not be the set of novellas for you. However, if you want tropey, comfortably predictable, cis-het romances with some spice, these are the perfect little treat.
Make Me Want:
Tropes: Tragic backstories, unrequited love, best friend's girl, teach me how to date and matchmaking the one you love
You know the drill. Damaged little bird of woman wishes to take control of her romantic life and the man she asks for help just happens to be in love with her. Sure we can have sex and not let it jeopardize our friendship or the project...what could go wrong? You know exactly what goes wrong (and oh so very right!) with a nice HEA at the end. This is also the first story chronologically in the series, so the overall world is solidified and we see some snippets of backstory for characters we met in Volume 1.
Make Me Crave:
Tropes: Enemies to lovers, mistaken identities, no business with pleasure, miscommunication, holiday fling
Bringing in the next story in the series, this "enemies to lovers" tale adds a bit of a spin in that the fling exists explicitly separated from the business rivalry. It is not an accident that the main characters keep hooking up and everyone knows it is going to be a disaster at some point. Then it is, then it's not and lots of spicy fun happens along the way.
Both of these novellas meet the series criteria of short and spicy reads that hand wave away lots of logistics via millionaires so we can have a happy ending (literally and figuratively). Needless to say they are great!
Thank you, NetGalley for the ARK ebook version of this awesome read!
Katee Robert has done it again with her captivating novel, "Forbidden Games." From the moment I delved into the pages, I knew this story was going to be a thrilling ride. The first half introduces us to Lucy, a determined and ambitious lawyer on a quest to secure a husband who can help her make partner at her firm. Enter Gideon, the charming friend of Lucy’s ex-husband who steps in to aid her quest. What begins as a simple arrangement quickly evolves into an endearing and twisty love story, as Gideon finds himself wanting to be the husband Lucy never knew she needed. Their chemistry is electric, making for a super cute and heartfelt read that simply flies by.
The second half shifts focus to Roman and Allie, both of whom find themselves in a precarious position where their professional ambitions hang in the balance. The tension is palpable, and I found myself rooting for them even as the stakes grew higher. The way Robert weaves these two plots together is masterful, leaving readers eager to see how love and business entwine.
What I love most about Katee's writing is her ability to bring the heat without sacrificing character depth. "Forbidden Games" is loaded with romance, wit, and just the right amount of spice that keeps you flipping the pages late into the night. For anyone looking for a delightful escape into a world of love and intrigue, this book is an absolute must-read! Trust me, you won't regret diving into this fantastic story.
KR did not mess around with Forbidden Games. This book is like a rollercoaster of emotions, with twists and turns that'll leave you breathless. I mean, the s€x scenes are scorching, but it's not just about the amazing heat - the characters are complex and real, and their stories had me hooked.
Lucy and Gideon's story in Make Me Want is a slow burn that explodes beautifully. Their dynamic is all kinds of messed up, but in the best possible way. And Allie and Roman in Make Me Crave? Mostly opposites attract, and their chemistry is off the charts. The tropical setting is just icing on the cake. Seriously, these two are meltingly hot.
If you're looking for a book that's equal parts steamy and heartfelt, Forbidden Games is your jam.
This story is very spicy and has a few good twists and turns. The second book is the story of Allie and Roman. This story is spicy and has a few unexpected moments. I am a big Katee Robert fan and love all of her books. If you read the first volume Illicit Temptations, you will love this book. Both the main male characters are billionaire alpha heroes and the the main characters all have some connection to volume one. This can be read as a stand alone

Tropey, steamy and quick, these were the perfect reads. Katee Robert is consistently one of my favorite authors.
ARC- Review
Forbidden Games is a combination of two previously released stories by Katee Robert, that are re-releasing January of 2025.
I was already a fan of Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series, so I knew I could count on her for a quick read full of well written spice and these two stories definitely delivered on that. The plot for both were very fast paced, which made for a great small distraction that didn’t require much mental awareness to keep track of. I enjoyed the stories, and the spice was the best part of both stories. I will definitely keep adding Katee Robert books to my TBR!
Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is my second book review for Katee Robert and I just love her shorter stories with two in one book! I really enjoyed the characters in both stories.
The first story is about Gideon and Lucy. She is a successful lawyer wanting to find a husband to move up to partner. He is a man that has fawned over her for years letting his best friend get the girl only to have him cheat on her. Now that she's single and ready to settle down, instead of matchmaking her with other guys he wants her to himself. The second story is about Roman (who is in the first story) and Allie. She runs a business that soon may go under and he has an investor that wants it. He goes to an island that she is vacationing on and unbeknownst to each other they fall into bed together and really enjoy themselves, until they exchange names. She doesn't know whether to trust they can have a relationship or if he's in it just so she chooses his investor.
Both stories were quick easy romance reads with spice and love when the guy knows what he wants and it's the girl. I would highly recommend and can't wait for the next one!
Thanks to NetGalley, Katee Robert and Harlequin Romance for allowing me to review this ARC!
Before you go in just know that this is two books in one book. Both equally amazing and well written of course!! loved everything about it and the spice was spicinggg!!!
Katee Robert's is one of the queens of spice. I received this arc of the remastered Make Me Want and Make Me Crave, now called Forbidden Games, in exchange for an honest review. A big thanks to Harlequin Romance, NetGalley and Katee Robert's herself.
Make Me Want is a short, spicy ex's ex-best friend romance that will go down in 1-2 sittings. We've got:
- Fake Dating / Sex Training
- Ex's Best Friend
- Jealous and Possessive MMC
- Unrequited love
- Marriage of Convenience
- And a got bit of spice
This was a fun, low-stakes read. I love the fake dating or "practicing" trope, and we get a lot of that as our FMC is coming back from heartbreak and trying to get ready to get back out there and find a husband.
Make Me Crave is the second book in the series. It was a spicy, short romance with:
- Anonymous Sex / One night stand
- Forced Proximity
- Enemies with Benefits
- kind of Grumpy / Sunshine
- a lot of spice
Unfortunately I did not like Make Me Crave as much as Make Me Want. I didn’t feel as much chemistry from the two characters, even though I liked their individual backstories more. I'm not a big fan of insta-love, so it was hard for me to believe they went from anonymous sex to I love you in a week.
Both books are very spicy! So, they're good for when you're in the mood!
Two stories in one book! The first one is about Lucy and Gideon. Lucy and Gideon have known each other for years. She asked him to teach her about trust, touch...etc.The second is about Allie and Roman. They had terrific vacation sex. They find out that they are rivals afterwards...
It's very steamy as it is a Katee Roberts book. Lots of sexy scenes. The relationships are intense. Great chemistry and great characters. The male characters are all rich, powerful and alphas...... Fun books.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
Thank You Net Galley and Harlequin Publishing for giving me the ARC on this book.
In true Katee Roberts fashion, these two novellas are full of spice and angst. In the first book Make me Want, Gideon (High Price Head Hunter) and Lucy (Tough as Nails attorney). Gideon lives with the guilt of knowing Lucy's engagement was ruined by a cheating ex. Lucy asks him to help her find a husband and well the guilt is replaced with Love that Gideon has harbored for 6 years. In book two Make me Crave its Roman (Investor) and Allie (Women's shelter and gym). Its an insta love and its so spicy!
I will have a paper copy of this book Katee Roberts is a must buy and her books never disappoint.
Thank you for the chance to read this early. I liked this series but I am a little confused as to why books 1 and 2 (which are referenced in books 3 and 4) and in the second book for these repackages. It's not like I didn't read all of them and like them, just curious.
