Very adorable and informative book potential pets. I love the illustrations and the little family jokes sprinkled throughout the book.
This book has a lot of great information on pets. It mostly focuses on breeds of cats and dogs. These are the most asked for pet books through so this will make many kids happy. Great illustrations accompany the information.
Kids LOVE these types of books. Relateable pet content, specific facts and cute, funny illustrations. This is a perfect addition to any public or school library. I would use this in my classroom for beginning research.
Hahaha, I did not expect this to be so great. First of all, the cover is amazing and the details in the large ebook are amazing.
Then, we get to meet the author and his cat. Hilarious.
And then, this book turned out to be a comprehensive book of ideal length.
Offers facts, author’s experiences with and tips about caring for a pet in the most hilarious ways and I have found my new favourite illustrator.
Salcedo, you are a gem! You gave every single character in this book a personality and you are amazing at illusrating expressions.

THANK YOU Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book.
I genuinely enjoyed going through this book! So did my girls!
Humor and facts about some excellent breed choices of dogs and cats with some helpful insight on other animals you can have as pets. I did like seeing the rating on each animal too.
This book was so funny and informative! I love animals therefore I most definitely enjoyed this book
This book is so stinking cute. It’s exactly the kind of book I’d give to my kids at a restaurant or in the car to keep them occupied.
I like the juxtaposition of the large eye catching illustrations with the paragraphs. Breaking up the paragraphs with cartoon words tricks reluctant readers into challenging themselves and tackling big blocks of text.
My younger “assistant” (f8) immediately started fawning over the cat section, and comparing the written traits to the traits of our cats to see what kind they might be. My older “assistant” (m10) wanted to debate the rankings assigned to each animal in the Other Animal section.
Pet Selector! presents information on a diverse selection of pets including but not limited to a wide range of both cat and dog breeds as well as rodents and reptiles. For each breed there is an overview of the breed, pictures, a description of their personality and a brief history of the breed as well as plenty of adorable illustrations.
Russell Kane is clearly an animal lover and his devotion to animals shines through in this book! I loved that a wide range of breeds and animals were included and the information was written in a very clear manner. I thought it was great that the author emphasized the importance of choosing a pet based on their temperament and how they would fit in with your lifestyle as opposed to just on looks. My only complaint is that I found some of the pages quite text heavy.
Erica Salcedo does an incredible job illustrating this book and how drawings really bought the book to life. I loved how through her drawings you could really get a sense of the dogs' personalities. Additionally the pages being bright and colourful made this a very engaging read and I really enjoyed flipping through this book.
Overall this was a fun book about animals and I loved the illustrations!
