A nice collection of recipes to make in either an InstaPot or slow cooker. I like the additional tips and tricks listed for using each appliance. Reading through this one had me wondering why both are collecting dust in my house. I plan to rectify that using a few recipes in this cookbook.
Thanks to NetGalley and Skyhorse Publishing | Good Books for the advance reader copy to review. All opinions are my own.

I love finding recipes that are both one pot and easy on the wallet. And this book delivered on both. I loved that this has recipes for both slow cookers and Insta-Pots and each recipe is clearly labeled about which piece of equipment is utilized. The recipes range from the usual, breakfast, main dishes, side dishes, etc. but the recipes themselves are varied. I tried a few (the Blueberry Fancy was delicious), and have marked a few others to try at another time. The prep and cook time are clearly stated, ideal slow-cooker sizes are given (which means it's easier to adjust given whatever slow-cooker you have on hand) and the directions are easy to follow.
Overall this is a very good catchall book with some very helpful tips at the beginning.
A good variety of recipes, should offer lots of options for everyone. This would make a great gift for a college student or anyone in their first apartment.
I own several books in this series, and I use and enjoy them all. This one is exactly as the title suggests. Budget friendly meals for both the slow-cooker and Instant-Pot. The Instant-Pot part was a pleasant surprise, as I am trying to use mine more. All of the recipes are easy to make and use ingredients that are easy to find, and you may already have a lot of them on hand. I think this book is perfect for both beginning cooks and just anyone wanting some easy ideas. My only complaint is that I have been spoiled by some other cookbooks that feature a picture for each recipe and this one does not. There are pictures, just not for all recipes. Still a good book that I would definitely recommend!

I will post my review to Amazon, Instagram and other retail and social media sites upon publication day of October 29, 2024.
This is a great cookbook! The recipes are unique and seem easy to make. The ingredients are easy to find. The recipes I'm most excited to try include Pumpkin Spice Pancake Bites, Caramel Rolls, French Toast Casserole,Western Omelet Casserole, One Dish Chicken Supper,Chicken Parmigiana, Macaroni and Cheese and Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes. Special Thank You to Hope Comerford,Skyhorse Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great cookbook for easy and budget-friendly meals using a slow cooker or Instapot. I liked the tip about writing notes directly on the page of the cookbook for any recipe changes you make. I also liked the tips on how to use both appliances efficiently. I loved the photos! The downside for me was that I already have my favorite recipes I use for most of the meals included in the book and I found the meals to be a bit on the unhealthy side. With that being said, I do think it would be a great resource for anyone looking for a quick and cheap meal to make.

If you are looking for great recipes that you can " fix and forget" this is your book. If you are a busy person who still loves good meals you have it all right here at your fingertips. You can't go wrong with this book.
I have been buying Fix It and Forget it Cookbooks from the very beginning. So when I seen this one, I jumped right in! Favorite cookbook geared to help in a trying economy. Win- Win. And it didn't disappoint. Get this! Don't miss out.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Skyhorse Publishing for a copy of this cookbook in exchange for an honest review.
Most of the recipes weren't all that original with several variation son the same thing. I have other fix-it and forget it meal books, and just didn't see much about this one that made it much better.
While I understand budget meals, this book also relied heavily on canned condensed soups. Budget meals don't have to be unhealthy and full of salt and other unhealthy things.
Finally, because this one utilized all sorts of kitchen devices, it may not be very useful for everyone because if one is trying to do budget meals, one might also not have all the fancy cooking appliances. It also wasn't easy to just find recipes for one appliance like say the slow cooker or air fryer.
It didn't seem very practical especially now when you can google any kind of recipe you are hoping for. I'm a huge fan of real cookbooks over online recipe searching, but this one just misses the mark.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook in exchange for an honest review.
So I felt this book contained barely any pics and mostly relied on slow cookers, crock pots and instant pots. I also felt the recipes were a bit basic, and not all too easy. I suppose I was expecting new ideas for low budget cooking. In general, I didn’t feel this book was very inviting due to the lack of pictures and the slightly uninviting layout.
As a busy working mom, most of my meal planning revolves around the Instant Pot and crock pot. This cookbook was information and full of recipe ideas! I highlighted so many recipes that I will definitely be buying a hard copy. I’m thrilled to have found some more quick and easy, nutritious meals to service my family!
This was a well organized and easy to follow cookbook for any home cook looking for filling recipes that are easy to follow made with economical ingredients. I liked how the author describes different slow cookers and pressure cookers at the start of the book. As an instant pot owner who still finds all the buttons a little intimidating the clear recipe instructions are helpful.
Two recipes I really want to make are the instant pot yogurt and slow cooker granola, among others.
**Thanks to the author and publisher for the e-arc I received via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.**
The pandemic brought with it severe inflation. For many of us, that has definitely increased our grocery bills significantly, so, like many others, I am always on the lookout for budget friendly recipes. Fix-It and Forget-It Budget Meals is loaded with budget friendly meals that are also family friendly, and for the most, part are easy to prepare. I saved so many recipes to try. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is trying to save money on groceries while not giving up great tasting family friendly meals.
Personally I really liked how this cookbook is written and almost every recipe has a photo as well. At first instant pots and slow cookers are described in order to help you pick the best one for you. That being said, the recipes are for instant pots and slow cookers, which means if you don't have them both, you might not be able to make some of these recipes.
The recipes itself are easy to understand and pretty standard. Some recipes are a bit more complex, but I still think it's a great book if you don't have much time but still want to enjoy home-cooked meals, and also if you are a beginner cook.
The delicious recipes in this cookbook are well designed and varied. Some of my family’s favorites are the simple butter chicken, meatballs and chicken cacciatore. In addition to main dishes, there are breakfasts, soups, stews, and side dishes. Each recipe, whether it utilized the instant pot or the slow cooker, was well organized and turned out delicious. I’m excited about adding a paper copy of this to my collection.
Many thanks to Skyhorse Publishing and NetGalley for the advance copy. All thoughts are my own.
This book has a combination of recipes to be made in a crock pot or an instant pot. For that reason, I'd only suggest it be purchased by people who own both devices. Otherwise, half the recipes wouldn't be useful. The recipes are pretty standard and I didn't find too many that I was interested in trying for that reason. Nearly all have photos, which is one of my "requirements" for a good cookbook. Also, some of the recipes require steps before putting the ingredients in the device (e.g., brown meat or cook pasta), thus adding to the prep time. So, I wouldn't necessarily say that all the meals are quick and easy to prepare. This might be a good purchase for a wedding or shower gift--something for a starter cook.
Thank you to Skyhorse Publishing and NetGalley for providing an advance review copy of this cookbook. My opinions are my own.
Easy to find ingredients and budget friendly recipes will make this an excellent addition for any home cook who loves their slow cookers and pressure cookers.
Hope Comerford's Fix-It and Forget-It Budget Meals offers an assortment of affordable recipes and valuable tips for Instant Pot and Slow Cooker cooking and usage.
I recently tried the Enchilada Stack-Up, and it was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to explore many more of the 120+ recipes.
The additional serving suggestions and tips were incredibly helpful. If you are like me, you're sometimes stymied, especially when deciding on side dishes for meals.
This cookbook has a lot of quick and easy recipes. I really loved the soup section, and I’m pretty sure I bookmarked every recipe in that section! I love that it’s a mix of slow cooker and instant pot recipes. Some other recipes I’m looking forward to making are: Hawaiian chicken tacos, orange chicken, caramel rolls, and Tangy pork chops.
Lots of good food ideas for your Crock or Instant pot. I do wish there was a lot more variety for people who are pickier but this is a good jumping off point if you aren't picky and you just need more food idea.
