I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. Great cookbook! Tons of recipes and ideas for inexpensive meals. In this day and age with the price of food, we have to be practical with budgeting for our families! The recipes also seem very easy to follow and not a lot of ingredients. Highly recommend!
Lots of great, useful, easy recipes! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free e-ARC edition of this book in exchange for my review.
I love cookbooks, and am always on the hunt for a great new recipe. I love my slow cookers like family members, but haven't tried an Instant Pot so far.
I dont' think I really found any earth shaking recipes in this book, but I appreciated the way it was laid out and SOME of the extra little facts and suggestions in the book. I wish there were a few more photos to give an idea of the finished dish as well. But overall, this was a nice cookbook, and something I could see being very helpful to someone just starting to work with slow cookers or instant pots or new to cooking.
3.5 stars for liked it, rounded up to 4 stars
I love to cook but my budget tells me no. Then I found this wonderful cookbook. It is packed full of over 100 recipes that are easy to make and don’t break my budget. It is wonderful to find something that works without using elaborate ingredients. The recipes are for insta pot or crock pot. We use a crock pot at our home. The recipes are so simple and easy to understand. They have detailed ingredients and directions along with serving size and cook times. I found some new family favorites, like Pumpkin Spice Pancake Bites and Pork Chops with Gravy. Your family will love this cookbook and create the perfect way to cook together on a budget. Enjoy these delicious recipes!
The other day I went to the grocery store and spent about $70 for one bag of groceries. The cost of items seems to keep going up, so it was nice to read a cookbook that doesn't require you to go out and purchase a ton of ingredients to make good food! Fix-It and Forget-It Budget Meals was filled with delicious sounding recipes, many of which, I had most, if not all of the ingredients for already in my kitchen! The book had a great variety of recipes with simple to follow instructions!
Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own
Exactly what the name describes. Easy, low cost .recipes that are family friendly and tasty.
One of my favorite ways to cook is using an Instant Pot, so I'm always excited to try new recipes.
This cookbook is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to save time and money in the kitchen.
There are over 100 recipes that are not only budget-friendly but also quick and easy to prepare using a slow cooker or Instant Pot.
The variety of dishes, from hearty soups to delicious casseroles, ensures there’s something for everyone.
Comerford’s clear instructions and helpful tips make it accessible even for novice cooks.
Some of my favorite recipes include Slow Cooker Chicken ad Dumplings, Instant Pot Beef Stew, Instant Pot Beef Stroganoff and Instant Pot Pulled Pork!! There truly is something for everyone!!
This would make a great Christmas gift for someone just starting out or for anyone looking to simplify their meal planning.
This cookbook honestly sounded better than it turned out to be. I chose to read it because I love the idea of throwing all the ingredients into one pot and letting the meal cook while I can do other things. However, most of the recipes still take a lot of work and you need additional equipment for your slow cooker or instant pot. Keep that in mind budgetwise. I liked the general structure and categories and there are definitely some recipes that sound very delicious which I can't wait to try. I would just prefer to have a picture to every recipe because that really helps to get an idea of each meal. All in all a good starting point for getting familiar with a slow cooker.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I love a good cookbook. This had plenty of recipes to try that aren't a huge time suck! Check them out!
This has some great recipes in it. Different takes on making your typical oven baked meal . The book was very organized to make following along easy. Each recipe grouped together in like categories.. At the top of the recipe it informed you whether it was a slow cooker or instapot that was needed. Metric equivalent measurements were included as well. There are several recipes I can’t wait to try! Cutting cooking time down and less dishes! Thank you to NetGalley for this free advanced copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily
Though the recipes in this book seemed fairly approachable, many were very similar and none was particularly appealing.
I have always loved Fix-It and Forget-It cookbooks. Some of my best recipes have come from them. This was chock full of fairly simple and tasty sounding recipes. I can't wait to try some of them out.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This book has some good recipes for both the slow cooker and Instapot. The recipes are simple and easy to make. I do feel like it has a bit more Instapot recipes than slow cooker recipes. I wish the recipes were about even for both appliances.
This cookbook looks like a great addition to this series. Especially these days, when money doesn't go as far and everyone needs to be budget conscious, I appreciate these easy tasty meal ideas.
These recipes look delicious and also simple to prep and make - and it can't get any better than that! I like that the book is separated into categories of Breakfast, Soups, Main Dishes and Side Dishes.
I'm disappointed in this cookbook. The beginning talks about how people use slow cookers because you can just throw the ingredients in and leave it to cook while you go to work, do chores, etc. However most of these recipes required pre-cooking before you used the slow cooker or Insta-pot, so the recipes aren't really fix-it-and-forget-it. Plus some of the recipes included using such items as a springform pan, silicone molds, ramekins, loaf pans, and more, so not very budget friendly either.
The recipes themselves look and sound delicious, but most of them are too much work to mess with. The stew and soup category was what I was expecting out of the whole book, throw it in and forget it.
This cookbook was well written. The recipes were easy to make. Ingredients are easily available and overall inexpensive. I loved the suggestions of what to serve with the main meals (with sides found in the book). The tips were helpful. My adult child could use this book for ease of meals. Great holiday idea! It would be better if there were more photos of the recipes.
Each recipe shows whether if it’s for crockpot or instant pot. Easy to follow instructions with pictures. The cranberry chicken sounds delicious.
The recipes are straight forward and easy to follow. As someone who isn’t really good at cooking. I can see myself making some of these recipes. I feel like this book would really help someone like me out.
A wide variety of easy to make and in the budget meals. So many of these looks yummy and there's so much to choose from you'll be covered all summer when you don't want yo use the oven to winter when you want a hot bowl of soup.
