oh my god i don’t usually go for middle grade comics but THIS IS SOO STINKIN CUTE
his name is phartolomeow normal
i love him actually
can not wait to see how the rest of this series plays out
obviously this was a netgalley arc
but you guys should totally check it out for your kids!
What a "tootily" delightful graphic novel! Phartolomew is the creation of an alien experiment gone wrong, but turns out to be the hero his town needs. With cute illustrations and witty dialogue that incorporates the fart theme, Fart Boy and Reeky Dog would be great for beginning readers to later elementary kids. As a children's librarian, I will be sharing this with the kids I work with!
Interestinf story with new superhero. With his new alien friend Reeky Dog by his side, Phartolomew is on a mission—to stink up Professor Gravypants’s evil plans to take over the world by becoming a new superhero called Fart Boy! Quite interesting especially for boys...
This was such a fun and funny read! I can appreciate all of the puns throughout, the clever naming of people and places, and the childish humor (let’s be honest, farts are always funny if you’re doing life the right way) of this bean-rific graphic novel.
The illustrations were very lively and colored exquisitely. I’m happy I got to read this cute, lighthearted book! I’m sure the target audience will have a blast immersing themselves in the world of Phartolomew and Reeky Dog.
I have to mention that I appreciated the scientific explanation of digestion and flatulence sung by Dr. Bean Jeans! This was a great addition.
My son and I only Skimmed this as it was not available on kindle version. He was not very interested in the series and we will not be looking for them at the library at this time.
My 8 year old son is obsessed with farts - i don’t understand it but he’s a boy. When I saw this, i immediately knew he would think it was hilarious. He was so excited to read this book with me and it didn’t disappoint.
Ah, the strength of a good fart. It was obvious from when he was a baby that Phartomolew was different, but he doesn't realize he's a superhero until he uses his powerful farts to save the day. His family tries to help him control the incredible smell, and there is nothing about this that isn't hilarious. Even though he's super smelly, his friends and family love him because that's just the way he is. My favorite part, though, was when the hokey pokey song was used to show how the beans made their way through his body to make extra strong farts.
This book is lively, with fantastic, fun, bright pictures. Even the villain is fun and over the top. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this hilarious little book
