Like being back with old friends. Such a wonderful story with fabulous characters. The author manages to describe the setting so brilliantly where you can picture yourself sat by the lake enjoying the view. I'm already excited for the next instalment.

This is the 3rd in the Escape to the Lakes series from Jessica Redland and it’s wonderful being back at Willowdale Hall again. Seeing how Oliver and Rosie have settled in following the previous instalment is a great opener to the new story
I loved how brave Emma is and her confidence and determination in being able to move on with her life. The support she gets from her friends and family is not to be underestimated. Jessica always writes such community led stories whether that be found family or reconnected family, it shows how important that connection is with people we love.
Rachel,Killian, Grayson and Oliver and Rosie play such an important role in Emma’s life ( whether helpful or not) and I loved seeing how each of them was able to help her to forge her future life decisions- showing the best is definitely yet to come

🌄Moving story about facing setbacks, idyllic setting

Jessica Redland once again entertained and moved me with an excellent story of upsets, obstacles and the importance of how attitude profoundly influences an outcome. Emma, the 40-something female lead, has suffered romantic failure and heartache, and eventually finds herself without a home or a job, but she's got an excellent support system in her best friend Rachael and her family (as long as she lets them in). With their encouragement she picks herself up and moves on, hoping that the past can be left behind and the best really is yet to come. And rescue alpacas are key to her plan for moving on.

The characters are a great group, well-defined, and Redland keeps the players mostly limited to those who serve a direct role in Emma's life. Emma's story is at times eclipsed by poignant insights into her father's secret love affair that produced a younger brother she knew nothing about. I liked the sweetness of the romance and the overall emphasis on the importance of family and friends. Plus, Redland offers some sterling descriptions of the beautiful Lake District countryside and winsome moments with alpacas.

It's a compelling plot and I really liked that the story has a number of subplots with their own realistic highs and lows, like Emma's relationship with her father and estate worker Killian's unexpected road to fatherhood. There's even a bit of urgent drama related to the Magnificent Seven, the rescued alpacas that Emma hopes to home and use to start an alpaca walk business.

This series is getting better as it develops. I will definitely be looking to read more.

I absolutely love this series so to be back in the Lake District with Jessica’s writing was such a treat. I loved being back in Willowdale Hall and with familiar characters too like Rosie.

Such a wonderfully familiar book. The scenery was magnificent. Breathtaking and glorious. The characters all seemed so familiar and I really enjoyed settling into it. I adore Jessica’s writing style, she writes the most beautiful settings with fascinating characters and emotional themes.
This is part of a series but it could easily be read as a standalone.
Emma was a character that I instantly took to my heart, she was so excited to start her new life working on a farm (a Beatrix Potter one!) with her fiancé. She had given up so much to support his dream, and to create her own, it was upsetting to see it all fall apart.
However she is given the opportunity to continue her dream when she meets up with Oliver and Rosie, who not only encourages her to keep going but actively help her set it up.
So many emotional moments spring up throughout the story, it was gorgeous to see how things changed for Emma for the better.
Beautiful book with adorable characters set in a stunning landscape, uplifting and inspiring to read.

What a joy to "return" to the lakes with this lovely series. As usual, Jessica Redland writes another wonderful book. I loved getting to learn about alpacas! Beautifully written, heartwarming, hard to put down, just wonderful as I've come to expect!
As always, wonderful stories threaded together and weaved to make a beautiful tapestry of characters and their ever developing relationships. I cannot wait to read the next installments in this series!

Back in Jessica's books is like a big hug. I'm obsessed with them and this was no exception.

I've been in love with this series since book 1 and the stories just keep getting better. These books are set in the Lake District which is somewhere I'm yet to visit but I'm so excited to see what comes next for this series.

Emma is a lovely character who wants what we all want..... happiness. Her journey is beautiful and very inspiring.

Another great read from Jessica Redland. This is the 3rd in the series set in the lake district and it is lovely to reconnect with characters we already know and the happenings in their lives as well as some new characters.
This book follows Emma, a retired teacher with her own dreams and the ups and downs in trying to set up a new venture. The Alpacas were a nice touch and I love how Jessica gives us an insight to looking after Alpacas but within the storyline. It was also lovely to be back at Willowdale Hall.
This can be read as a stand alone book but I would recommend reading the series as you will get the back story of some of the other characters.
Highly recommended.

I am a real fan of Jessica Redland, I have read all her previous books and enjoyed them. This one started off strange to me, it started out of nowhere. I think reading this series back to back would help instead of with a long gap as I did. I found it slightly uninteresting in parts, it just didn't hold my thoughts.

This was a well written story by this author. It’s about family and relationships. It’s about moving on. I loved all the information on Alpacas and would love to walk one.

The Best is Yet to Come by Jessica Redland

This is the third book in Jessica Redland’s Escape to the Lakes series, a collection of stories set in the beautiful Lake District. Having enjoyed the previous books in the series, I am looking forward to meeting up again with the characters I got to know in those stories. Each book in the series is a standalone, but I would recommend reading them in order to get full enjoyment. I love the bright and colourful covers of this series of books, and I think this is the best so far. It certainly gives a big clue as to what might happen in the story.

The central character in this story is Emma, who is leaving behind her long and happy career in teaching to join her fiancé in his dream job of running one of Beatrix Potter’s tenant farms in the Lake District. Looking for a new start for herself, Emma decides to set up an alpaca walking business based on the farm. However, before long, she finds herself homeless and broken-hearted as her fiancé decides to go it alone. Luckily, she has the support of a wonderful family and her long time best friend, and with their help she is able to establish her business at Willowdale Hall, home of her half-brother Oliver and his girlfriend Rosie. The only drawback is that she must work with handyman Killian, who at first seemed unfriendly and unapproachable, to set up a home for her alpaca herd. However, as Emma deals with family upsets and pressures of timing, she realises that Killian is not the gruff individual she suspected, but someone who could help and encourage her to achieve her dreams.

This is a wonderful addition to the Escape to the Lakes series of books and I recommend both this book and the entire series to other readers. The characters have their ups and downs just as in real life but there is a message of hope throughout. The settings, both at the farm Emma briefly shared with her fiancé and at Willowdale Hall, are of course idyllic; the writing easily conjured up the majestic scenery in my mind. Emma is an interesting character, not easily daunted by events in her past or present. I felt for her as she was certainly unlucky in love, having been in long-term relationships with men who were not as they seemed. I was hoping that she might have more luck with the lovely Killian, and look forward to hearing more about him in future books in this series. I loved the way in which Emma was supported by her extended family and, particularly, her loyal friend Rachael, who were always ready to rally round and help in any way they could. This story is definitely a must for anyone who, like me, is fascinated by alpacas. Emma’s herd plays a big part in the story, and the author has included lots of information about alpacas as Emma learns how to look after them. I am already looking forward to the next book in this series and hoping to meet up with the gorgeous alpacas again.

Jessica Redland has done it yet again. I have absolutely loved this series and the best is yet to come is no different. If you love Jessica's books, The Lake District, Beatrix potter and alpacas then this one is defiantly for you. This book follows Emma a new character but does follow on and explains books 2 massive cliff hanger. It can be read as a standalone but I 100% recommend reading the series. Im very much hoping for more and will be adding the Lake District to my bucket list!!

I just loved this book so much! I just love Jessica Redland’s books so much. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and once I started it, I couldn’t put it down and I would just love to live here. The characters are just so amazing apart from one but then there is always one bad apple in the way but once Emma gets away from him then her life changes for the better and it turns out that not everything is what it seems like and with the love of family then new love can come out of the most amazing things.

I would highly recommend reading this book if you have enjoyed the other books in this series but even if you haven’t read the other books in this series then I highly recommend reading them before you read this book as it’s just amazing!
