Jessica Redland's books are like a hug and invite you into these wonderful worlds. That certainly is the case with Willowdale Hall and the story of Emma. I fell in love with this gorgeous character: a woman who has been badly done by men but in the end can she find her happy ever after with a new dream.

I loved the alpacs storyline and seeing Emma's journey to Willowdale Hall. I couldn't put it down as we get wonderful cameos, meeting some wonderful people. I love how she's managed to tie in the cliffhanger from her last book into this one.

Killian - could their be any more of a prefect man? I just wanted to hug him! He's been through so much but he still has this heart of gold!

There is mention of Beatrix Potter farms which is a nice running theme throughout all the books. I love her works and I loved finding out more through Jessica's very highly researched books.

I can't wait for book four!

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.

The trouble with a new Jessica Redland book is that you can't wait to read it, however, the trouble with a new Jessica Redland book is that you don't want to finish it! This is another instalment of the series set in the Lake District but can very easily be read as a standalone.

Loved it! Can't wait for the next instalment.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC.

I'm very fond of their books in general and I have seen Jessica Redland books around and always admired their utterly gorgeous covers. This one really drew me in so I requested it. I didn't realise it's book 3 in a series but the author has kindly given a summary of book 2 in the epilogue so I felt all caught up.

Emma, 47, has been with Grayson for over 7 years. She is a teacher but when he manages to get a tenancy on one of the Beatrix Potter farms in the Lake District, she gives up her job and her house to move with him. Then Grayson, in a horrible act of betrayal, breaks up with her, just as she is about to move a 7-strong herd of alpacas onto part of the land. Then her estranged Dad reappears to tell her she has a half- brother - Oliver from book 2. He and his girlfriend Rosie welcome her with open arms to Willowdale Hall and find space for her alpaca business - but their groundsman Killian needs to fix the structures first.

I loved how Emma repairs the fractured relationship with her Dad and makes new friendships, especially with Killian. She hasn't had the best of luck with men, so she is understandably careful not to make the same mistake again, especially as both she and Killian have trauma in their past, but her friends and family helps to get a new lease of life for her and the Magnificent Seven!

The setting is gorgeous and the characters, human and animal, engaging. It's a lovely, warmhearted escapist second chances summer read, especially if you love alpacas and the Lake District.

Another wonderful installment in this series set in the Lake District. It’s a great standalone book but is much better if you have read the previous books in the series. A beautiful setting with a wonderful look at keeping alpacas. A really nice escape but be prepared for unlikeable characters.
