What a fun listen! I really enjoyed this spicy billionaire romance. The Sinner is the third book in the Spade Hotel series and focuses on Brady, the grumpy brother.

While traveling for a work trip, Brady sees a flight attendant (Lily) and decides he needs to spend night with her. Lily is the first woman he’d like to see for a second time and he is disappointed to see that she snuck out on him and didn’t leave any contact information. Lily also felt a connection with Brady, but extenuating circumstances prevent her from being involved with anyone.

Brady was exactly what Lily needed! I loved how grumpy he was and how he had a soft side just for her. Brady was confident and was not going to let anything get in the way of them being together. Unlike the other books in the series, The Sinner had a suspense plot that I was living for!

The audio book is told in dual narration and is narrated by Ava Erickson and Tor Thom. I really loved Tor Thom’s narration of Brady. His voice had a growly deep quality that matched perfectly with his arrogant alpha energy.

I’m excited for the next book in the series, which will feature single Daddy Ridge!

Brady & Lily (28) meet on a flight and can't keep their eyes off of each other. After a night of mind blowing loving she's the one sneaking out in the early hours, which is something that has never happened to Brady. Their story continues 6 months later when they see each other again on another flight.

Lily has a backstory that's slowly revealed. While I can feel for what she's been through I didn't feel fully gripped with that part of the story.

I always know what to expect with the MMC's with this author. They're always dominant, alphas and self proclaimed bachelors that never want to be tied down until they're taken by surprise by a special lady and then they're mush for her. Brady would do anything to protect her and that he does. I gotta say I was a bit surprised about something big he did, it was pretty dark and unexpected.

Overall, their chemistry is great and I love not having a 3rd act breakup. Not my favorite of the series, but a fine installment to it.

Series notes:
This one would be fine as a standalone. I felt like some of Dalton's from The Dalton Family series popped in more than the Spade brothers did.

Narration notes:
Seems like Tor has not worked on his lady voice. It'd be great if he only ever had to do male parts because he does a super job with those. I cringe every time it's sexy scene time with him. Ava did great all around.

So, I made the mistake of reading the first book in the series and about a quarter of the second book. I really wish I would have read this one as a stand alone because I found the Spade brothers be a carbon copy of one another. I didn’t like that the author wrote essentially the same male character in every book. The similarities are hard to ignore, from the way they look, to the way they act, even to the way they get down in the spicy scenes… It’s kind of disappointing that the same character was recycled throughout this series.

With that said, did I enjoy The Sinner?

Hell yes I did!

Once I got past the first couple of predictable chapters, the book did take a different turn. I loved Lily’s character and I loved how protective Brady was of her. I really liked that even though Brady wanted her to be safe, he still let her live her life and travel. The bit of mystery and danger this book took on was fantastic, it had me on edge the entire time.

Ava Erickson and Tor Thom nailed these characters perfectly in the audio. This was definitely a good listen and I would recommend it.

A swoony alpha billionaire, a meet cute on a plane, gripping mystery, touch her & die vibes and HIGH HIGH heat!! I have been loving the Spade Hotel series but Brady and Lily’s story is now my new favorite so far! The added mystery into this storyline made it a complete page turner that had me captivated until the very end!!!

Brady & Lily. I love a romance with a playboy billionaire who finds a woman who makes him change his ways. The chemistry and passion between them was palpable from the start but THEN Marni throws in the mystery that was so unexpected and I was HOOKED! I don’t want to say much more as this is a book that is SO GOOD reading it as everything unfolds!! Just know I swooned so hard over Brady as this man knows how to communicate!!! He is always giving her a choice in things which was so refreshing to see!! And if you’ve never read a Marni Mann book…expect HIGH spice!!!

AUDIO REVIEW:
An engaging audiobook with an alluring storyline and all the hot romance. This one had me unable to hit pause as I easily devoured it in one day!!! It’s a dual narration by Ava Erickson and Tor Thom who were so well casted for these characters as their voices complimented each other bringing Brady and Lily to life!!

Ava has a soft tone to her voice that brought out all the feeling and emotion Lily is experiencing. She also has a captivating edge to her voice that will keep you on the edge of your seat as the mystery unfolds. Then there is Tor who has a very deep, strong voice that completely embodied the age and vibes of Brady, who is a grumpy billionaire and the oldest Spade brother. Together their performance showcased the chemistry between Lily and Brady while keeping you entranced into this mysterious storyline!! Definitely recommend listening to this one on audio!!!!

Quick Summary: A potent dose of sizzle and spice

My Review: The Sinner by Marni Mann is book #3 in the Spade Hotel series.

About the Book: A billionaire who always gets what he wants meets his match when a woman on the run turns his world upside down.

With dark tones, a line gets crossed when "The Sinner" crosses paths with the woman of his dreams.

About the Narration: The Sinner was narrated by Ava Erickson and Tor Thom. This team did an incredible job of expressing the character emotions. Listening was quite the experience.

My Final Say: This romance novel had a different tone to it. It was disturbing and complicated. The ex was something else and surely made his presence known. The dilemma that the leads faced was a hard one, to be certain.

Other: The heat between the leads nearly rendered me unconscious. Their coming together was...explosive. (I'll leave it there.)

Thank you to NetGallery and Dreamscape Media for this ALC of The Sinner by Marni Mann.

Listened to this as a standalone, but it’s the third book in the series. I didn’t feel it took away from not knowing the 1st to stories.

a billionaire romance, Really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more about the Spades. Ava Erickson did a great job narrating; as for Tor Thom I didn’t enjoy as much but he still did a good job.

Spice: 3.5/5
Audiobook: 5/5 Dual Narrated

This book is exactly what I would expect from a darker romance (not necessarily “Dark”). All spice, little plot. The mysterious and dangerous ex plotline fell flat for me. Despite how “violent” he was, I didn’t buy it. I never cared, the stakes never felt super high.

There was a ton of spice and a lot of cheesy dialogue. I did not vibe with Marni’s dirty talk. Here are a couple examples:

“I thought I knew what perfection was.” His eyes fixed on mine. “I was wrong. Because never in my whole fucking life have I ever seen a body like yours.”

“I’ve literally been hiding my heart and covering my eyes so something like this couldn’t transpire. And then you came along, and to put it bluntly, you charmed the pants off me, and everything I’d been attempting to avert all went to hell.”

I definitely enjoyed this book more with the audiobook. It is dual narrated and though I didn’t love how the male narrator did the FMC’s voice, it’s not the worst I’ve heard. I loved the female narrator. She did a great job with the spicy scenes.

Read this one if you’re in the mood for lots of spice! This book is technically the third in the series but I did not read the first two and did not feel like I was missing anything. It seems like each book follows a different set of MCs.

Thank you to Dreamscape Audio for an ALC of The Sinner. All opinions are my own.

Okay, so I started this book and was a tad hesitant because it started in the typical Marni style of a 'insta-lust, one night stand. HOWEVER, Marni gave us a tad bit of excitement with a mystery Lily's background story and a dash of exciting suspense too it. The ending with this fell a tad flat for me, but overall, I thought it was different than the rest of the series and kept me more focused on the storyline!

Unfortunately, I think I am not a fan of Tor Thom's narrating spicy scenes, if gave me chills at time for not good reasons (also, can we make it a thing that male narrators dont make female 'O' sounds during spicy scenes? its so MEH for me 😅)

Final Rating: 4⭐, 3.25🌶️

I absolutely LOVED The Sinner! Brady and Lily's book had all of the heat that all of the Spade/Dalton books have had, but there was mystery and a psycho in this one! I loved the change of pace in the stories. It was refreshing to have a story that added another layer into the story and it wasn't just about an alpha male who pursues and gets the woman of his dreams. Lily had a lot of baggage and Brady fought for her every step of the way.

I love this series and how it ties in with some of Ms. Mann's other series. It's fun to see all of the characters pop in and out of each book. Great crossover! And I feel like I'm getting updates on their lives. The writing is HOT and the story is great!

I listened to this audiobook and it was great! The narrators did an amazing job pulling me into the story and not letting me go. I had to know how it ended! Great job!

Thank you to Netgallery for this ARC audiobook.

I read this as a standalone, even though it is a third book in the series and I don't feel like it took away from the story not knowing the siblings and business partners well.

This is a billionaire romance, Brady Spade is the oldest Spade brother and CEO of the Spade and Collins hotel brand. On a trip to Edinburgh to scout a new hotel location he meets Lily, his first class flight attendant.

What they both think is going to be one-night soon turns into more as Brady, infamous for never committing to one woman, quickly becomes obsessed with Lily. Sadly Lily, has her demons she is running from and doesn't want to involve Brady in her life because of it.

This book is full of off-the-charts chemistry and spice. Brady won't let Lily's past stop the from having a future together.

Really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more about the Spades.

I personally didn't enjoy the male narrator but loved the female narrator.

This was such an intense and thrilling story.
I loved finally getting Brady’s story, but this was so much more intense than I was expecting!
I love the chemistry between Brady and Lillie.
The passion and energy between these two was incredible. I really enjoyed seeing Brady’s softer side, but also his protective and loving side. This was full of love, passion, spice and adventure from start to finish, everything you’d expect from Brady and more.

The narration was absolutely amazing!

I really enjoyed this audiobook! The Sinner by Marni Mann was a suspenseful, sexy, story following Lily and Brady. The narrators seriously knocked it out of the park. Both Ava Erickson and Tor Thom did an amazing job bringing the story to life. I was enthralled the entire time I was listening. Marni knows how to deliver spice too! I was blushing like a school girl listening!!!

Solid 4 stars from me! Can't wait to listen to more of what Marni has in store!

Brady Spade works hard and plays to win. He doesn't do relationships, always walking away after one encounter. That is until he encounters Lily. Everything about this beautiful stewardess called to him, and he had to have her. Lily is recovering from a bad relationship, but Brady charmed her enough to take a chance on one night with him. They had a hot passionate night together, and Lily left him while he slept, securing her secrets. Brady never forgot her and looked for her. Now months later, they have another chance encounter, and he is determined to keep her close. No matter how hard lily tries to keep her distance, and protect her heart, Brady shows he is a wonderful man she can trust. They start to build a relationship, and begin to see a future together. Until Lily's past comes back, and is just as determined to tear them apart. Will Brady be able to find him before he destroys Lily and everyone he cares for? I loved Lily and Brady together, and I was completely invested, caring deeply for them as I cheered for their HEA. This moving and heart-pounding story was a roller coaster ride with witty banter, push/pull emotions, and hot steamy passion, which is everything I crave to read, and loved every moment!
Ava Erickson and Tor Thom nailed these characters perfectly. Their pacing, inflections, and dynamic voices brought out all the complex emotions, making me laugh, cry, and swoon. Their voices compliment each other so perfectly that I was completely lost in their storytelling!

The Sinner was absolutely my favorite Spade brother. Brody was so hot, sweet and had a filthy mouth. Lily was amazing too, she was so strong and resilient despite going through so much. I adored how she handled Brody's possessiveness and protectiveness too.

The plot was really good, especially the third act. David's departure was *chef's kiss* he was a really great villain.

As always, I loved the Spades and Daltons, they're fantastic side characters and I can't wait for more from this world.

The audio was great. While I don't love Tor's female voice, especially in spicy scenes, I adore his MMC voices and Ava Erickson is an all around favorite.

Super spicy! I thought it took a while to get to the plot of the story - we knew what was going on, but not exactly why. No matter, Brady is a force to reckon with and just sign me up! I loved seeing the characters continue their stories and look forward to even more by Mann!

The Sinner
Spade Hotel, Book 3
By: Marni Mann
Narrated by: Ava Erickson, Tor Thom

Another amazing episode in the Spade brothers! I love this series, just the right amount of romance and this one had some intense suspense! Brady is not like his brothers. Settling down is not in his cards and he enjoys his one night stands too much to give them up. That is until he meets Lilly. She is meant to be a one and done, but there is something about her that is intriguing. But she doesn't want a relationship, and doesn't even want another time. But why? The chemistry is strong and Brady won't take no for an answer. And then he finds out. Danger is all around her, but will he be able to keep her safe and for himself? This is so good. Brady is quite the man. The alpha protector, falling first, it's fun to watch the playboy fall. Lilly is sweet, strong and resilient. I enjoyed this story, wondering how it would all play out. I know I was on edge, just waiting for the next shoe to drop!

Ava Erickson and Tor Thom are the storytellers and what a story they tell! Erickson is wonderful as Lilly. She pulls out all the stops as she tries to protect her alpha male, her personality strong and determined. Thom is the ultimate defender, and his voice is perfect as the man in charge. These two blend well together, building the suspense and adding in all the spice to make this a fabulous listen.

Ellie, a hopeful songwriter, returned to Lake Wisteria after her childhood friend stole one of her songs. Taking on the roles of live-in nanny and music teacher for Rafael's son Nico, they both initially avoid each other for eight months. However, everything changes when Nico invites Ellie to join them on their summer trip to Hawaii, leading to their struggle to keep their distance.
The developing relationship and tension between Ellie and Rafael in this story were truly captivating, with their connection being exceptionally special. What stood out the most was their mutual support through past traumas and their deep affection for each other.
The heartwarming bond between Rafael and Nico as they opened up to each other after a challenging experience was truly touching. Vanessa Edwin and Noah B. Perez skillfully presented a compelling narrative that truly shined in this portrayal.

Brady is a playboy, not ever wanting to commit to a woman, until he sees Lily, a flight attendant on his commercial flight. While Brady always flies private through his company, fate seems to nudge these two characters together. After a steamy night together, Lily disappears only to have Brady feeling dumbfounded as to why she left and why he can't seem to find her online. As luck would have it, months later they meet again and Brady won't let her go.

I absolutely devoured this story. It has suspense and jealousy, action and the touch her and die vibe. Brady becomes so protective of Lily and it's wonderful to see someone so afraid of love, fall hard. Great story, would highly recommend! Awesome narration!

Thanks to NetGalley, Marni Mann, and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen to this ARC!

Book 3 in the Spade hotel series! I could listen to Tor Thom all day-he is fantastic! The hottub scene was soo good and spicy! I loved the fierce protectiveness that Brady felt towards Lily. She had it rough, but he never wavered. I thought the conflict resolution was quite quick, but it didn't deter me from enjoying this story!

Cannot wait for more! Marni Mann writes the best MMCs.

Brady is probably the grumpiest Spade out of the bunch. He sees Lily in the airport but can’t seem to track her down till he is on a commercial flight and she is his flight attendant. He is determined to make her his, but he learns about her past and her controlling ex and really just wants to protect her. As always, we have lots of crossover between the other characters from the Spade Series as well as the Daltons and it is always a fun time when the whole crew is together. This book had plenty of spice and some darker parts than the other books in the Spade Series, but I truly loved every second of it. I am excited to see the Cole brothers get their books!
