'This was cute and fun. it is great for a quick read. This is an enemies to lovers romance but they don't stay enemies for long. It was fun to see some characters from The Match show up in this book. Overall very good just not quite as good as her others. Great to listen to.

Thank you to Freamscape Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this book.

I wish I would’ve gotten more into this one—but if felt too forced. Still looking forward to reading more from SA!

This is such a sweet romance story. I loved the characters and felt connected to their story. Sarah Adams has a way of writing that really draws you in and makes you feel for the characters. This book was no exception. Another gem from Sarah Adams.

Not sure if my feelings towards this book were because of my dislike of a the narration or if it was the content. Simply put, it just was not for me. It felt "cringey" multiple times throughout the story and that simply could not be overcome. Love the author's other works too which leads me to think perhaps it was merely the narration.

What a fun story this was! I loved getting to jump back into June and Ryan's story.

Overall, the story was fun, and the enemies to more banter was fantastic. I wasn't a huge fan of the narrators, but I still enjoyed myself as I listened.

Kudos to Sarah for always making me smile and laugh at the antics of her characters. For anyone who is a contemporary romance/romcom lover, you won't want to miss a single Sarah Adam book.

I enjoyed both books in this series. I just adore the way Adams writes her characters. While I prefer more spice in my rom coms, these were both sweet and quick reads perfect for getting some chores done. I highly recommend the audiobooks for both as they were narrated by two excellent duos.

I absolutely love everything Sarah writes and I was so excited when I saw I was offered a copy of this book for review. I love that she is a baker. I love baking so it always fun to read it.

Overall this was a cute book,

But I didn’t really love the enemy premise, or the miscommunication / didn’t communicate their feelings trope of this book. I still thought it was cute but it wasn’t a book that blew me away or made me fall head over heals

Such a sweet fun read! This is a reread for me because Sarah Adams is one of my absolute favorites!

I’ve loved the updated dual narration. I loved how Ryan acknowledged his feelings first and was determined to win June over. They went from silky pranks to him literally wooing her.

This made me smile and swoon and it was so fun to reread! I can’t wait for more books from Sarah Adams!

Thank you to #Netgalley and #DreamscapeMedia for the ARC. Sarah Adams can do no wrong, she know how to write a great romance. This is a story of second chances and enemies to lovers.

This one was just okay for me. I found the characters to be a bit too immature to enjoy. Events were fairly predictable as well.

Thank you to Netgalley, Sarah Adams and Dreamscape media for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.

While I am a HUGE Sarah Adams fan, this is not my favorite book of hers.

If you’re looking for a light, fluffy, hallmark movie-esque read this book is for you.

With enemies to lovers and high school frenemies reunited tropes, some of the miscommunications of the past felt a little hard to believe. I also really missed the witty banter I’ve come to expect from the author.

A sweet three star read for me.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing this ARC for an honest review.

Loved this the first time I read it years ago and loved this refresh. June and Ryan knew each other in high school and they did not exactly leave high school as friends. When he shows up in her town years later, June is shocked. I thought that June was very immature at times throughout the story, but both characters were pranking each other the whole time. June did hold a grudge, but their enemies to lovers storyline was cute!

I enjoyed this to an extent, but definitely not as much as Sarah's first entry of the series. The main character June felt a bit childish at times and I found myself getting frustrated with her towards the end. Ryan was a great character though and I appreciated him supporting June despite her insecurities with them getting together.

Connie Shabshab was a great narrator for June but I felt like she could have tried a little better with her male voices. Will Damron was great as Ryan and I especially enjoyed his chapters and I thought he did a great job with the feminine cadence for June's lines.

✨ The Enemy by Sarah Adams ✨

This was my first book by Sarah Adams and it definitely won't be my last! I loved the banter and the back and forth between Ryan and June. The best part of their relationship has to be how they loved to prank each other. Some of them were hilarious! I loved how they were constantly out to get each other- whether they were enemies or lovers. I also loved how patient Ryan was with June as she navigated her past hurt and tried to learn how to be in a relationship. The audiobook was a great listen- the narrators did so well volleying the banter. I am so glad I listened to this one!

💭This is rom-com at its finest—I absolutely love this book! the banter and pranks are TOP-TIER, I thought I loved The Match, but this one blew me away. The amount of time I spent laughing out loud while listening to this is unbelievable—I was giddy and hysterical almost the entire time. Ryan and June are absolutely perfect together. June is incredibly funny, and that "none/almost” third act breakup had me in stitches, solidifying the 5-star rating for this book. I'm speechless—Sarah Adams is now my new romcom queen, and I'm definitely diving into all her previous works.

Connie and Lee absolutely nailed it! Connie brought her A-game—her acting is spot on, and she had me laughing out loud more times than I can count. And Lee as Ryan? Just as fantastic. The way these two brought the story to life was an amazing experience from start to finish. This is one you don't want to miss!

I'm still trying to decide how I felt about The Enemy and what it is that I can't quite figure out that bugged me. On one hand it was pretty predictable and June was a bit whiny. On the other, I liked and didn't like Ryan, but then ended up liking him the most I think. I really liked June's family and wished there'd been more of them. All in all, it was an enjoyable book, if not my favorite. Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the early listen in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed parts of this books - and other parts I wanted to skip right over. The dynamic between the characters is cute. I love how they have such a long history together - meeting as kids but “hating” one another through high school graduation. In reality, they were both crushing hard but never shared their feelings… until they were adults. The chemistry is there, the banter between the is perfect. But, the main female character drove me insane. She was whiny and immature. Her grudge holding just did not make any sense to me. I felt like she was meant to be a strong female character, but came across as the complete opposite to me. Sometimes I can ignore a blah main character, but this one just ruined parts of the book for me. Overall, I enjoyed the book and Sarah Adams writing. If you are looking for a quick, cute story give it a try!

Thank you NetGalley for my audio copy.

Review:
If you’re in the mood for a romcom with snark, charm, and a side of donuts, Sarah Adams’ ‘The Enemy’ is your next listen! While it’s labelled as an enemies-to-lovers romance, it reads more like a second chance romance with a sprinkle of high school pranks.

Ryan, our determined chef, has always had a soft spot for June, and when they reconnect at their best friends' wedding, sparks fly!

The real magic here is in the banter. June and Ryan’s back-and-forth is hilarious, and their chemistry is off the charts. June’s relatable insecurities and Ryan’s charming charisma make them a duo you can’t help but root for.

Narrators Connie Shabshab and Will Damron have done a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life. Connie nails June’s mix of vulnerability and humor, while Will’s smooth delivery perfectly captures Ryan’s charm.

This is a delightful, light-hearted listen that will have you laughing out loud and grinning like a fool. If you’ve ever wished for a sexy chef to whip up a romance in your kitchen, this one’s for you!

"The Enemy" is not my favorite Sarah Adams book. It's fine, but it didn't leave me feeling any type of way about it beyond ambivalence. It's cute enough, but nothing to write home about. I feel like Adams has written this story before and better elsewhere. Enemies to lovers is usually one of my favorite tropes, but it just didn't do it for me here. They aren't really enemies so much as they suffered from a miscommunication in high school that led them to have negative feelings toward one another for a decade-plus afterward. The book starts strongly enough but peters out towards the middle-end. It just felt like something was missing in this story. Sure, there is some banter between the main characters, June and Ryan, but it wasn't enough to captivate me in the way that Sarah Adams' other novels have. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Adams, and Dreamscape Media for the complimentary ALC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
