Penelope Akk is the daughter of superheroes, she lives in a superhero world, and even her friends have superpowers. Penelope, however, hasn’t begun manifesting her powers yet. When Penelope’s powers finally decide to show up, boy is she surprised to be labeled a supervillain. While trying to get used to her powers, Penelope and her friends, are pulled into a fight with the sidekick of a local hero. They come out of that fight known as supervillains – and Penelope’s not really sad about that revelation. Except, she may have some explaining to do to her parents, if they ever find out.

Please Don't Tell My Parents I'm a Supervillain is a fun story written with creativity and likeable characters. Middle grade readers and those who love anything with superheroes, or supervillains, will enjoy this book. The majority of the characters were strong, the setting interesting, and Penelope’s mad scientist tendencies kept me completely entertained in the book.
