A new favorite written by Freida McFadden! This one felt like one of her older reads, which I really enjoyed. I loved the constant stress and anticipation through out the entire book! Towards the end of the book you get hit by twist after twist! And the ending leaves you both satisfied and emotional.

You can’t go wrong with any of Freida McFadden’s books but this is a new favorite!

Was a fast read! Enjoyed the story and didn’t see the twists coming. Didn’t love the nick name tuna for the baby…..lol. Would definitely recommend and read again in the future!

Not my favorite McFadden book, but a quick-read! Being from Maine, the setting is realistic. I feel the middle did drag on a bit more than I would have preferred, leading to a typical McFadden twist towards the end. The ending seemed kind of underdeveloped, and quick. The characters were well-developed, even if they annoyed me! (Take the damn cast off! Iykyk-haha!) This was my first ARC, I’m excited to see what others thought of this book!

I think this is my second favorite Freida book! The 384 pages just flew by, and I devoured this book in less than 48 hours. It was a fast-paced read with all the great twists and turns that you've come to expect when reading a Freida book! I got a lot of Misery (Stephen King) vibes when I read this one, which was fun. I thought all of the characters were so interesting and well written. I really liked the epilogue and how everything wrapped up!

4.5 stars rounded up

I love all books Freida McFadden...and this one doesn't disappoint! The characters in this book were relatable (even if frustratingly-so) and I was definitely invested in the the outcome. I'd recommend this book as a fun read for any thriller book lover.

I am so honored to be chosen to read this book before it gets released to the public. I finished it in one day, I was hooked. I wanted to find out what happened. I love Freida and have read a lot of her books. I would rate this one 3.5. Of course we all have different opinions on what we like.

What I did like was, the pace of the book, it kept me engaged, and it left me wondering if I had it figured out yet. What I did not like is “little tuna” though it was funny at first, I don’t feel like it needed to be repeated. Kind of like a comedian who always uses the same line. Another thing was that I had it figured out through the book. I knew who the perpetrator was going to be before more revealing facts has been given. The hostage situation with Hank and Polly went on a little longer than it needed to. I felt like it got dragged out. I did enjoy the book thoroughly, I feel like there could’ve been a little less of Hank and Polly and a little more about Tegan and Simon. I like how all the families all came together. Hank and Polly with Sadie. I also would’ve never guessed what Hank was going to do! Also, Tegan and Jackson’s story, I wish there was more!

Absolutely brilliant! Though I have not yet come across a Freida book that has left me anything less than internally fizzing and wishing for just one more chapter!
While The Crash quickly because an overall favourite, I did find myself wishing Tegan was a little smarter and Hank a little bolder.
Highly recommend, 5 stars!!

- I’m surprised this book got so many bad reviews, I LOVED IT! Freida knows how to twist & not make it complicated. Have you thinking you know who your bad guy is & BLAM. Mayb a little slow in the middle, slightly repetitive (not enough for me to be annoyed by any means) but I would DEF recommend this book to anyone who needs a good & easy read! I think I’d even go as high as a 4.5 for this!

- Thank you NetGalley for this ARC, I enjoyed it so so so much.
Also, sorry for the late review. I do realize it’s after release date.

Freida always gets me with her twists and suspense. When I started to read this book I did not think that it would have ended up where it did. There were parts where I was laughing (like when she would refer to her baby as “Tuna”) and parts where I was mad at the main character Tegan. There were bits where I was on the edge of my seat and begging Tegan to just take off that damn boot! That’s the part that made me mad about the story. I know she wanted out of there but why wouldn’t she let the woman help her in the beginning even before things got crazy. But then things got really crazy and I understood Tegan not trusting the wife. She wasn’t a complete monster though as she did care for the little girl down the road and made sure she had something to eat when she was without.

I kept trying to imagine myself in Tegans position. What would I do if that happened to me. What if I found myself pregnant and crashed during a snow storm. What would I do? And I think that is one of the reasons that I like Freida McFaddens stories and writing so much is because it’s easy to place myself in the position of the main character. Then once I make that connection it’s easy to start imagining and questioning what I myself would do in that situation.

Freida just knows how to write a twisty suspenseful thriller and I always look forward to her new books.

I have read every book by this author, and Freida has done it again. The Crash has unexpected twists and turns throughout. I enjoyed the book very much; it was a fast-paced, quick read, with everything you would expect.

I jumped into this book, looking forward to a wild ride that is typical of Freida McFadden’s writing. Her twists have become legendary. However, The Crash is my least favorite book of hers. It was good, solid 3 star story, yet it didn’t have that WOW factor we have come to expect. I enjoyed the emotional moments, and there were many, but the ending just fell flat. Of course, maybe we, as readers, have become so accustomed to a mind blowing ending, that we read with that expectation for every book. A book isn’t bad because there’s not a shocking twist. We need to learn to appreciate the narrative that is given to us, without our own expectations clouding our view. That being said, I’m going to change my review to 4 stars; The Crash is a fun thriller and I can learn to be happy with that.

The Crash by Freida McFadden is an engaging psychological thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. The premise is intriguing, and McFadden does a great job building suspense throughout the story. The twists were unexpected, and the characters, while sometimes a bit cliché, still felt well-developed enough to keep me invested. The pacing was mostly strong, with only a few moments where it lagged a bit. The ending was satisfying, though it could have been a bit more fleshed out. Overall, it’s a thrilling and enjoyable read that’s definitely worth picking up if you love a good mystery with dark secrets.

This might be my new favorite book by Freida! I loved how it was so different from all of her other books. The twists were equally as unpredictable and the ending was a shock as always. I read this book in one sitting and it is definitely a page turner

A few twists towards the end of the book that I wasn't expecting. I always enjoy Freida's books and appreciate the chance for this early release. Freida's medical background always makes her stories so much better.

I was super lucky to receive an ARC copy of the crash by freida mcfadden and boy, it didn't disappoint!

The story is based on Tegan, who, upon travelling to her brothers house in the snow, crashes her car into a tree, while she's 8 months pregnant 🤰

Tegan is injured and trapped ... until Hank comes along. All 6ft 4 lumber jack hunk .. I mean hank. But what first appears as a Knight in shining amour, soon turns sinister.

This kept me interested, completed it in a day, and played with my emotions, just like Freida does best! 👌✨️

Trying to think of a way I can give this any kind of spin, but I can’t. It was terrible.

Let me count the ways:
1. Calling the baby little Tuna and the number of times she used her baby voice. That seems a crime against literature.
2. Hideous characters - all of them. And yes, our main character was the worst of them all despite the fact that Polly was actually mentally ill. Majorly delusional and stupid. The neighbors.
3. Completely unrealistic basement scenes with 8 month pregnant Tegan with her post crash injuries and the repetition of the injuries.
4. How convenient to have a Jackson.
5. Predictable denouement and unsurprising climax.
6. The conclusion. Just no.

I have said it before but this time I really mean it. No more McFadden. I like a good thriller with some surprises and twists that fit the situation and make sense. I like clever writing and dangling clues. Chilling suspense. I don’t like crazy over the top scenarios and dramas with unlikeable characters. I hate a fairy tale ending. I see all these glowing and gushing reviews for her books and I just don’t get it. It was a waste of a couple of hours. Definitely not for me.

I listened to the audiobook while following along in the e-book ARC. I didn’t really care for the narrator’s voice and the way she spoke the different characters. But, honestly, it may have been more that the lines were so bad that I maybe shouldn’t blame her.

I’ve loved Freida’s writing since I began reading a year ago, she never fails to deliver the unexpecting twists ! The crash was more of a straight forward story with a couple of”little” twists, not the same as her other books but still great nonetheless!
