Although this wasn’t my favorite Freida read, it was still really enjoyable!
It felt a little slow and at times repetitive but in traditional Freida fashion, wow that ending!
I would not have guessed the ending and definitely didn’t suspect a thing. I liked that the book was in Polly and Tegan’s POV because you got a better idea of what was going on and both sides’ misunderstandings of the situation like when Polly thought Tegan was drinking while driving.
Great winter read with snowy/snowed in vibes!

Once again Freida proves she knows how to keep readers glued to the page!
I could not put this one down and was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The suspense was fantastic, and the snowed-in, trapped-in-a-cabin setting made it the perfect thriller to curl up with for winter.
The plot was really well written and I was completely bought in to all the characters. Tegan was an awesome protagonist and I found myself rooting for a few of the other characters just as hard; even if their trustworthiness was questionable at best.
Surprisingly, The Crash didn't feel quite as twisty as some of Freida's other books, and (for the first time), I actually saw a few of the twists coming which isn't usually the case with her thrillers.
That said, I actually loved how the suspense stayed steady throughout the whole story. Instead of quick, chapter-ending cliffhangers, it was like this slow, creeping tension that kept me completely hooked.
And that epilogue! So good.
This one was definitely a fun read.
Thank you so much Freida McFadden, Mandy Chahal, and NetGalley for sending an advanced digital copy of The Crash and the opportunity to read early! All opinions are my own.

Solid thriller in typical Freida fashion. I found myself looking for breadcrumbs to try and predict the outcomes, but never could I ever see all the twists and turns.
The main character has such a traumatic experience, and the way all the characters intertwine results in a great ending!

Thank you Freida and Mandy Chahal and NetGalley for providing me with this ARC. I’m giving my honest opinion.
The FMC is with months pregnant and there’s a mystery around her pregnancy and it leads her to start the journey on a very snowy day. She ends up in an accident and from there a very twisty story starts. This was very interesting to read and you never know who to trust. Absolutely loved it and finished it in a day. I will not put any spoilers but this was a very good read and it has the classic Freida twist!

This book was not what I expected and it seems to be slightly different from Freida’s other thrillers. It starts off with a bang and I was hesitant to put it down, the pace was so fast and I really was enjoying it, but then at about the half way point it seemed to stall a bit. It seemed like I was re-reading the same incident from a different persons point of view, over and over. Then it finally changed pace and finished up neatly. There are also three epilogues that fill in some potential plot holes. So overall it’s a 3 1/2 star rating for me.
Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the digital ARC.

This book was okay. It felt very similar to many other Freida books and very slow at times. Minimal character development for the main character which was a big let down. Overall, though, did make me want to finish the book, just not the best book by Freida.

Get ready for a thrill ride! From the prologue to the epilogue, this story had me hooked. Just when I thought I’d had my fill of mind-bending plots, this one proved me wrong—it’s a rollercoaster you won’t want to get off!
A cold, snowy night, a car accident, a mysterious stranger—all adding a layer of claustrophobia, fear, and tension that will have you feeling the freeze down to your bones. My anxiety for the main character, Teagan, was palpable.
Just when you think you’ve got everything figured out, as usual Freida throws in a twist that flips the story on its head. I was on the edge of my seat, guessing and second-guessing every move. I actually drove myself crazy, going back and forth with my assumptions.
The pacing is brisk, (which is something I like about Freida’s books) and I found myself tapping away at my Kindle like there was no tomorrow, desperate to know what happened next. And the ending? Wickedly good!

In typical Freida fashion, this book takes you on an emotional suspenseful journey. Every twist and turn is expected (because it’s Freida) but yet, still gets you with that “didn’t see that coming” twist.

wo words to describe this book: uncomfortable and tense. Not in a bad way, but the subject matter and the tension built perfectly embodied the precariousness of the main character, Teegan's, situation. The ending was fabulous with all the loose ends tied up, and the twists weren't completely over the top. Solid 4.5 Stars from us!

Teegan is 8 months pregnant and flat-out broke. Her daughter's father isn't in the picture but she's confident once the baby is born there will be some changes. Teegan decides to visit her brother just as major snowstorm hits while she's driving to Maine to see him in her crappy, definitely not snow worthy, car. She crashes head-on into a tree in a whiteout. A stranger in a pickup truck comes to her rescue, but is he really rescuing her?

Another great one! Freida has long been an instant buy author for me (it was her books that got me back into reading as an adult). I think I enjoyed this one even more than usual, though. I love how she has the ability to shed light on important social issues while also taking you on a thrilling, can’t put the book down ride. I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

I really wanted to love this book. I’m gonna say it was ok. Kind of repetitive. I feel like it could have been shorter. I was able to figure out the ending. Normally Freidas books are very twisty. You think you know but you have no idea kind of thing. I am happy to say I figured out a few twists before hand. It was a little bit different than her other books. But, again will definitely read her next book The Tenant and will continue to read them.
Thank you to Freida, Mandy Chahall, @FreidaMcFadden, NetGalley and @poisonedpenpress for the ARC of this book.

I finished this book within 24 hours! Freida has a wonderful gift of keeping her audience enthralled and coming back for more, this book is no different. I was a bit disappointed in the fact that there wasn’t a big juicy twist like her usual books but the story was interesting enough without it. I believe Freida Readahs will enjoy this one as will Freida newbies!

3.5 stars for me.
A page turner in typical Freida fashion. I finished this book in under 24 hours just dying to know the conclusion! The short chapters from the perspectives of both the protagonist and antagonist along with the gripping suspense kept me hooked. The nativity of the main character made me want to scream at times and although Freida is a doctor and knows what she is talking about, at times I had to scratch my head reflecting on the choices (or lack there of) of the main character regarding her health and her situation. The twist at the end also felt a little misguided to me. I typically love the unpredictable twists of Freida's books, but this one just felt blah. It did not have my jaw hanging open, but more like my eyes rolling at how forced the twist felt. It just wasn't necessary in my opinion. Although, predictable, I loved the epilogue and how everything was wrapped up. Overall, a great read, but Freida, pleaseeee I beg of you, stop making all your female protagonists soooo dumb and helpless.

WOW!!! I, like most everyone, have become a fan of Freida McFadden. And she did not disappoint! Ms McFadden doesn't always have characters that I am rooting for 100%, But Tegan was a character I rooted for all the way through!! There were several twists I did not see coming. I absolutely did not want to put this down.

The Crash is the latest psychological thriller from Freida McFadden. Freida has done it again with a fast paced thriller with so many twists my head was spinning.
Tegan is a young pregnant woman who is pretty down on her luck. She lives in a small studio apartment in Maine, works at a grocery store, and the father of her baby wants nothing to do with them. She’s really struggling so when her brother invites her to visit him before the baby is born, she decides to go for it, but… a snowstorm is coming and Tegan is heading right into it.
Her car crashes on the road and she sustains a major injury to her ankle making her unable to walk. But then, a truck pulls up and brings her to the safety of a small isolated house. The couple, Polly and Hank are hospitable but after several days of her living in their basement, she realizes something is very wrong and she may not leave their house. Ever!
The first major twist left me with my jaw on the floor and the twists kept coming. I really liked the character of Tegan and her determination, survival skills, maternal love, and bravery. There are some other likable characters and some not so likable.
This is the latest in a long line of Freida McFadden thriller books of which I have read all but two and I would rank this in the top 5.
The Crash comes out on January 28th, 2025 and will be available on Kindle Unlimited, Audible, and in hardcover and paperback book format.
Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press for this advance copy of The Crash. All opinions are my own.

Another wonderful Freida book. I definitely did not see the twists coming and love how it ended on a high note for both Tegan and the Thompsons and little Sadie!

3.5 ⭐️
The Crash follows a young pregnant woman who gets into a car accident and the nightmare that entails from there.
I had very high expectations for this book. I loved the tension and thrilling element that was felt while reading this book. In true Freida fashion, there were all the plot twists that kept me at the edge of my seat. I also really liked the dual POVs of the antagonist and the protagonist.
While I did enjoy reading The Crash, I felt like the story as a whole fell a little flat for me. To me, it wasn't the typical Freida read where I was kept guessing at every unexpected twist and turn. I guessed the first plot twist right away, which never happens in Freida's other books. Overall, I would recommend this book. Freida McFadden still reigns as the master suspense weaver!
I was gifted this eARC by Poisoned Pen Press, Mandy Chahal, and the amazing Freida McFadden in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
Release Date- January 28th 2025

WOW — this is all I had to say after finishing reading Freida McFadden’s latest book, The Crash.
The writing style of this book reminds me of The Housemaid series. It was suspenseful from beginning to end. I thought this was the first book of Freida’s that I was able to successfully predict, but boy was I wrong. This book will leave you captivated and wanting more, through the development of the characters and playing detective as the book progresses.
The Crash is now one of my all-time favorite Freida books, and I would gladly read it again and again. I highly recommend this book. It won’t disappoint.

Like most of Freida McFadden’s books, this one grabbed me from the beginning. Pages turned quickly as I took in the events that built and built to the story’s end. Most of her books end in a way that really surprise me. While I did not predict the ending of this book, it didn’t floor me like so many of her books do. I enjoyed this book and finished it in two days! Can’t wait for her next one!

Freida does it again! A book full of twists and turns. Unputdownable. Just when you think you have it figured out, try again, and then try one more time. I’ve read every one of her books and she never disappoints. Finished this in one day!
