Freida has done it again. Every time I think I know who did it or what's going to happen, I'm wrong. I've been close a few times, but never have figured it out. This book was frustrating at times. If people communicated better, a lot of what happened could have been avoided. But then again, we wouldn't have a story. Definitely a good read by a great author.

WOW!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had the hardest time putting it down! Upon receiving a lucky digital copy, I digested this in less than 24 hours! I love Freida’s style of writing and all the twists and turns that she lures my mind through! The detailing of characters’ thoughts and feelings helps both peak and sustain my interest. Due to the other books I’ve read written by Freida, I find myself playfully having doubts about trusting some characters by questioning their motives! Thank you, Mandy & Freida, for sending me this book! I’m beyond thankful and looking forward to other pieces of work in the future!

I really enjoyed this book! It holds your interest and makes you keep reading! And as always, I wasn’t expecting the plot twists at the end! Definitely worth the read!

I've read most of Freida McFadden's books, and this one just missed the mark for me. It was fine, which is why it's 3 stars, but it was pretty predictable and the big twist made absolutely no sense. It was one of those that came out of nowhere and there were no hints before the reveal at all. The ending was also tied up a little too nicely with a bow.

I first became acquainted with Frida Mcfadden’s books approximately one year ago and they have become my go to for a fast, fun and twisty thriller. They epitomize the definition of a popcorn read. Some are better than others and I find I enjoy them more if I space reading them fairly far apart, otherwise they lose their surprise impact.
McFadden’s newest novel is The Crash and was one of my favorites to date. A book that starts out with an interesting premise, suddenly, with the swerve of a steering wheel and a crash goes in a totally unforeseen direction in a blizzard of suspense. Yes, you have to be able to suspend belief a bit, but who cares when the result is this much fun. A fun read for a frosty day. Thank you to @netgalley and @poisonedpenpress for this arc.

The Crash by Freida McFadden was the perfect start to my 2025 reading list. As always, Freida does an incredible job of keeping the reader engaged through multiple character viewpoints, peeling back layers slowly but surely, and then offering us the ending we never would have predicted.
Tegan is our main character whose life is flipped upside down and then flipped some more as she finds herself 8 months pregnant and trapped in her immovable car in the middle of a blizzard. That mother's intuition and mother's strength takes readers on a roller coaster of emotions, curiosities, and predicting the plot. As always, when you think you've figured it out, here comes Freida with the twistsssssssss. Once you dive in, you won't be able to put it down until you reach the ending. You won't regret reading The Crash as a part of your 2025 reading chronicles.

This book was great and met the highly anticipated expectations. The twists were appreciated and the insightful news to each characters persona was well developed.

Book Review: The Crash by Frieda McFadden
A huge thank you to Poisoned Pen Press, NetGalley, and the incredible Frieda McFadden for the advanced copy of The Crash.
This book is an absolute rollercoaster of tension and suspense. From the very first page, I was sucked into a claustrophobic, anxiety-inducing thriller that kept me hooked until the final, jaw-dropping twist. McFadden masterfully builds a sense of unease as the story unfolds, making it nearly impossible to put down.
The plot revolves around a pregnant woman who, in the midst of a snowstorm, suffers an accident that leaves her unable to walk. She’s discovered by a couple struggling with infertility — and what initially seems like a simple act of kindness soon spirals into a nightmare. As the story progresses, you’ll find yourself questioning everyone’s motives, especially as McFadden expertly plays with the power dynamics between the characters.
I have to say, the ending of The Crash was shocking. It’s definitely not a typical Frieda McFadden ending, and while I can imagine an alternative conclusion, I found this one far more satisfying. I didn’t see the twist coming at all, and that’s something I really appreciated. McFadden continues to prove her ability to keep readers on the edge of their seats, surprising us when we least expect it.
The novel has a chilling quality that reminds me of Stephen King’s Misery — a story where a simple, isolated situation becomes a pressure cooker of tension, leaving characters (and readers) trapped in a psychological game. The confined setting, along with the growing sense of dread, makes The Crash a truly compelling read.
I devoured this book in one sitting. If you enjoy thrillers that keep you up at night, full of unexpected twists and heart-pounding suspense, The Crash is definitely for you. It’s a dark, addictive ride from start to finish, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good, twisted thriller.

Omg! I absolutely loved this book! Every chapter left you wanting more. I could not put this book down.
It is different from the others I have read by her, but wow👌 was it worth the sleepless night!

OMG!! Another great story by Freida!!
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and I started it right away!! This story had me gripped all the way through. The storyline was intriguing and in Freida fashion she keeps you guessing until the very end!!
If you are a fan of Freida’s books you need to read this one!!

I received an eARC of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
This has to be my favorite Freida McFadden book I've read so far. Granted I haven't yet read the housemaid series but still. The twists in this one had me hooked. Every time I thought I had figured it all out there was another surprise. I also enjoyed the three perspectives and how each persons biases colored their perspectives and told the story in unique ways. I recommend this book for anyone who likes a thriller that keeps you on your toes. Although I will say one of the biggest trigger warnings for this book would be infertility. It does not tiptoe around the subject; it is front and center of this book.

Loved this book so much! I’ve recently became a huge fan of all of Frieda’s books and this has just been added to my favorites list. There was never a dull moment in this book and i truly did not know what was going to happen and what the next twist would be. Highly recommend this book to all of my friends and can’t wait for them to read it on publish date!

Absolutely love Freida's writing, so it's no surprise how quickly I finished this! I believe this is the first book that I guessed the "twist" but it was still a good storyline!

Freida McFadden accomplished another atmospheric and psychological thriller that had me rushing through it to figure out what was going on. I made some assumptions, but most of them were wrong. One twist after another...
Tegan, 8 months pregnant and on her own is traveling to stay with her brother for a few days when her car crashes into a tree during a blizzard. Left on a cold, rural Maine road with no phone service, trapped and injured, she is at the mercy of a burly man who stops to help her and free her from the wreckage. He takes her to his home where his wife, a nurse, promises to take care of her until they can get help when the road clears.
When they place her in the basement with a hospital bed, I'm like "No this can't be happening!!!"
Tegan was fleeing to her brother's because after a nondisclosure agreement she would not sign. If she does not reveal her baby daddy, she would receive a ridiculous amount of money and care, but she remembers the one night stand as induced with a date rape drug and he is a very powerful, yet married man and she refuses to take the money and stay quiet.
A lot of bad characters come into play, some with very little consciousness of guilt and some inaccurately misjudged. The writer reveals the characters' true colors to the reader, but not to the main character which makes it frustrating as the main character makes mistakes. Incredible writing and highly anticipated!!
Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this incredible ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Freida did it again! I loved this book! I consumed it in 2 days. So many twists and and turns I did not see coming. The character development was on point. By far my favorite author, her books never disappoint.

One of Freida’s best! This book had me from the beginning, and I couldn’t out it down. The story line was completely believable and I literally gasped out loud in several parts! Love this one!!!

Different than other Freida books, but still a great read!
There are twists, as expected, because it’s Frieda, the queen of twists.
Original storyline, likable characters, or characters that you grow to like.
Solid read. Would recommend.

A huge thank you to Freida McFadden, Mandy Chahal, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
As a Freida reader, this was exactly what I expected it to be in terms of suspense, but for once, I was shocked with myself at how much of it I could actually put together before the last page. Of course the epilogue will always hit with a little something extra, and this one was no exception. This contains some Misery-esque undertones, albeit from a different motivational standpoint, but it made for a bit of an anxiety inducing read. (Especially being a woman and a mother, because this is the type of situation that would plague my nightmares.)
I really felt for Tegan throughout this entire book. She never knew who she could legitimately trust, up until the very end. She struggled with everything in her life, and the situation she finds herself in here only makes everything so much worse. (I don't want to say too much, and give the entire plot away.) But, if you enjoy any of Freida's other works, you'll more than likely enjoy the ride (no pun intended) you'll go on in this one as well.

I have always been such a big fan of Freida. I love how quickly I can get through her novels without getting bored and I never want to put the book down. This novel was just the same for me.
“The Crash” by Freida McFadden was a journey. Very fast paced, a little bit darker than what I’m used to from her. But I still loved it! Sometimes in her novels, I find the characters to not be very realistic, and parts of this book had me scratching my head but I’m not reading her books expecting reality.
The only thing about “The Crash” that fell short for me were the plot twists. Freida is the queen of twists! While I may be able to guess one or two in her books, there’s usually about 10 more that I don’t expect. Except this time, I guessed all of them. It’s not something that disappointed me though! It was still a fun reading journey and I will always be a big Freida fan!
