I was instantly drawn into this book and couldn’t put it down. I felt for Tegan and her situation and fell down her rabbit hole of distrust of everyone around her. Her inability to trust any men and instantly jump to the conclusion that they were all bad. But when she put her fear towards the wrong person I wanted to yell “no!! Open your eyes!”.
The book is a great quick read and the story had many twists and turns. I never knew who was going to be the “bad guy”.

This book did not disappoint. In a true Freida McFadden style it had twists and turns that were unexpected and I couldn’t put the book down until I was finished. I highly recommend this book.

Amazing book. Had a few typos but nothing too serious! The plot twists really had me going. Freida has amazing plots and everything really came together at the end.

This was an amazing book! Freida definitely didn't disappoint with this one. I thought I had it figured out then the big twist at the end got me again!

The Crash had me intrigued from the very beginning and it was the true definition of a thriller, I never really knew what was going to happen next! The story is told through 2 main POVs and the switching really keeps the storyline moving and interesting. I did figure out the twists, but that did not take away from my enjoyment at all. Thank you so much to Freida McFadden, Mandy at Sourcebooks and Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read this amazing book early!

Freida does it again. Very suspenseful and had a twist I did not see coming. I couldn’t put down the book.

First off, thank you so much for this ARC! I thoroughly enjoyed The Crash! It had great twists that I didn’t suspect at all! This is a 4-star rating for me because some of the choices the characters made, especially Hank and Polly, made no sense to me. I understand that these choices contribute to the plot of the story and I still really enjoyed this read!

So just finished this book in 1 day. I just had to keep reading. There are so many twists and turns. Just as you think you have it figured out there is another twist. I feel like there is a few side stories intermixed too. I'm not mad about it. I loved it. Started out giving me Misery vibes then it was not. I enjoyed the way it was written letting you know when each part of the story was taking place.
I loved how it all played out. You get answers to each of the little side stories. I love the way it ended.
Definitely recommend for a quick winter read.

The Crash is another great read by Freida McFadden. I was hooked on this book from the very beginning and read it in a day, two sittings. This was a difficult book to stop reading. When you finished a chapter, you just wanted more. I absolutely love all the twists and turns in this as with all of her books. The characters were well thought out and the storyline kept me wanting more. I'm a fan for life.

Teagan is 8 months pregnant and living a far from glamorous life when a car crash turns makes her circumstances even worse. Set during a snow storm, this is a nice read during the cold, winter months. It is a quick read as I finished The Crash in 2 days while taking care of 2 young children. I could NOT put this book down. In true Freida fashion, The Crash is full of surprises and twists. The ending was not what I predicted, but is it ever what you think it’s going to be with a McFadden book?! Definitely one of my new favorites from her and a great first book of 2025! Highly recommend!

Beautifully written. Each twist and turn makes it even harder to put down. Read over two nights (about 7 hours total.) I enjoyed how the characters each had their own concerns yet they all converged perfectly in the end to complete the story. Nothing felt unfinished like some books do. The twists each made sense. Did not see or feel them coming which was very appreciated. Not an easy book to put down.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | The Crash by Freida McFadden follows heavily pregnant Tegan, who crashes her car while driving to visit her brother during a snowstorm. Stranded with a broken ankle, she is rescued by Hank and taken to a secluded cabin where his wife, Polly, helps her.
Tegan’s first impression of Hank is that he is kind and helpful. He comes to her aid after her accident, appearing genuinely concerned for her well-being. His warm and reassuring demeanor makes her feel safe in the immediate aftermath of the crash. However, as she spends more time with him, she begins to notice subtle hints that suggest he may not be as trustworthy as he initially seems, leading to a growing sense of unease. As Tegan starts to suspect something is off, she questions whether she made a mistake by following him home.
The book kept me on the edge of my seat, and I stayed up late to find out what would happen to Tegan. Although it has a slower start, I really enjoyed her journey.
It’s also worth noting that this story isn’t as dark as some of her other works (My all time favourite of her work is The Teacher!).

Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press for providing me with an early copy of *The Crash*! As a fan of Freida McFadden, I was eager to dive into this new story, and it certainly delivered. The narrative follows Tegan, a grocery store clerk who is eight months pregnant, as her life takes a dramatic turn after a car crash on her way to visit her brother.
The story is engaging from the start, and while some plot points felt a bit familiar, Freida’s knack for storytelling shines through. Although the signature twists were less frequent this time, there were still enough surprises to keep me intrigued throughout. I found myself captivated and read the book in just a day and a half! While it's not my absolute favorite Freida book, I truly enjoyed the experience and the journey the characters took me on. I’m giving *The Crash* a rating of 3.7. It's definitely a worthy addition for fans and newcomers alike!

Definitely one of Freida McFadden's best yet - it was a compulsive read with so many unreliable characters. I couldn't put it down and it will be a huge hit at the library.

What an absolutely wild ride from Freida!
Thank you Freida and Poisoned Pen Press for the e-ARC of The Crash! I have this book preordered but was so happy to get to read it early, as I love a good Freida read. And with the winter-storm setting of this one, reading it during a blizzard here in Canada, it felt like perfect timing.
WOW, I was truly not disappointed. I read this one almost completely straight through, and in true Freida fashion, the story kept me turning pages non stop. I feel this may be one of my favourites in terms of atmosphere and build up. With hints of claustrophobia, hopelessness, and entrapment, it’s a perfect thriller for those who fear the very monsters who live among us: strangers.
There are dark themes, so be prepared for triggers. Freida does not hold back, so know there are some disturbing elements to this.
I was gripping my kindle with discomfort through much of this, and my heart was pounding on more than one occasion. Definitely give this one a shot!

At this point I have read a LOT of Freida's books, so I know I can count on them when I need a quick and dirty thriller that's entertaining but not very deep. They can be a little hit or miss for me and somewhat predictable - but this one is more hit than miss in my opinion. I like the short chapters and how the story sucks me in immediately. My biggest criticism of Freida's books is that they can be repetitive when it comes to the character's thoughts/inner monologues. You also have to be willing to suspend disbelief to buy into her books, or else it all seems way over the top. This was definitely another wild ride - I don't know how/when Freida sleeps with all the content she churns out!

I absolutely loved this book! Freida never disappoints with the twist and turns of her books! I devoured this book in a day!

The Crash is good, but not a favorite. As usual with a Freida book, I read it in less than 24 hours because it’s an easy read that makes you want to know what’s going to happen next. It’s a little repetitive, and I kept waiting for something to happen or the plot twist to finally show up but it didn’t. There were no surprises or twists that I didn’t already see coming. In fact, I almost feel like this one ends with a perfectly tied little bow, which I’m totally fine with. It’s exactly what I had hoped would happen. Thank you Freida and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC.

I definitely didn't see the twist coming, just like all of Freida's other books, this one is a great read!

WOW WOW WOW! This was my first ARC EVER!!! Big Freida fan and this was just like insane. I read it in less than 24hrs. Possibly surpassing Never Lie as my favorite of hers. Had a small thing pegged from the beginning however did NOT guess the twist. IT SENT ME!!!! Must read of 2025 IMO!! Hats off Freida!
