I loved the multi-character points of view; it allows the reader to see the assumptions some characters are making about others. Overall a phenomenal book; a must read for McFadden fans, and those who like suspense as this one keeps you guessing!

The Crash by Freida McFadden is a chilling thriller that combines survival, psychological tension, and the fierce determination of a mother to be. Tegan’s journey begins as an escape from her troubled life, but it quickly spirals into a nightmare when she becomes stranded in a blizzard and accepts help from a seemingly kind couple. The author excels in creating an unsettling atmosphere, that will keep you questioning the couple’s true intentions as Tegan pieces together the dark reality of her situation. This story has all the bells and whistles I’ve come to expect from a Frieda McFadden book, and there is always more to the story than it initially shows.

Tegan is one of those characters that is teetering between being likable or irritating. Even though she is in this horrible position, she has moments when she says something that makes me cringe.

I love the juxtaposition of the couple and how they each come across to Tegan while knowing the reality of their lives.

The story centers around what is happening to these three characters during the snowstorm, yet the reader sees glimpses of their pasts and brings in other characters that add some zing to the ending.
The Crash brings out the heebie-jeebies in the best way possible!

THE CRASH is a complex, gut-wrenching, locked room style thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Through past/present chapters of before and after “the crash,” readers are drawn into a deadly situation where it's impossible to figure out who can be trusted and who has ulterior motives. From beginning to end, all elements combine to set a deadly scene, driving an insanely suspenseful pace to a final unbelievable reveal. McFadden has cemented her place in the thriller genre as a writer who pushes characters and readers to the edge . . . before pushing them off with a shocker they never see coming. Support characters provide a choice of red herrings with motive who may want Tegan and her child out of the picture permanently. Readers are charged with deciphering the clues to figure out who the villain is before being blind sighted by the truth.

Intense, mesmerizing and heart stopping, THE CRASH is Author Freida McFadden at her best. Fans are going to devour this one in one sitting as I did. Highly recommended to fans of locked room mysteries and suspense thrillers.

Another heart pounding non-putdownable read by the queen of plot. twists.
A quick easy read with all of the fast pacing one has come to expect from McFadden.
The characters seem to all misunderstand one another and assume the worst- creating the tension that pushes the story forward. Fortunately, as the story unfolds the lies and truths behind those misunderstandings come to light.
I"m not always satisfied with McFadden conclusions but this one left me smiling.
For Frieda fans, don't skip this one.

I have to say this is not my favorite Frieda book. This needs to come with trigger warnings for sure. It gives Misery vibes if you have read that one. Just giving this one a 3 out of 5.

Another twisty thriller from Frieda McFadden! This short novel follows eight month pregnant Tegan, a young woman who is living paycheck to paycheck to survive. Tegan heads out in a storm to visit her brother, but before she knows it the storm becomes a blizzard. She crashes in rural Maine. Alone, cold, and stuck she is rescued by a couple, but nothing is as it seems and Tegan will need to keep her wits about her if she wants to survive.

This novel is a quick read and gives off Kathy Bates, 'Misery' vibes. While McFadden crafts her usual deceptive and intricate storylines, this novel falls short compared to her other works. The tension doesn't hold tight through the story, but readers will want to continue to the end to unravel key plot points.

Frieda McFadden's books are often a hit or miss for me. I enjoy her Housemaid series, but her other works can vary greatly in quality. This particular book felt like a bizarre fever dream at times, with little suspense and an unsatisfying ending. It started off promising, but the plot twist was far-fetched and the story didn’t improve from there. The ending was also mediocre. I do like that her books are often fast pace and are easy to read but this book was a huge disappointment.

Why do I keep reading this author?? I keep thinking I'm missing something with her popularity but if so, I'm still missing it. This book was boring AF!!! How do you even write a boring "thriller" with a psychopath?! Absolutely nothing interesting happens, far from the can't put it down vibe her other books at least have. This was literally worse than watching paint dry. AWFUL. 🤦🏻‍♀️😭

I enjoyed! It was a page turner for sure!! There were points where I was like for real…. Hank could have called the police so many times.

McFadden's best so far. The tension in this thriller comes from the bad decisions made by desperate characters. Set against a chilling blizzard and drawing on the themes of motherhood and female vulnerability, this book meets the moment perfectly and keeps the reader alternatively cheering for and chastising the characters, on the edge of their seat until the gratifying conclusion.

The crash is another Freida McFadden surprise ending. There are good in people and there is do what you have to do to help your cause In everyone

Keeps you on the edge of your seat, from beginning to end. Hints of Stephen King's Misery, with less gore. Satisfying ending.

I am a big Freida McFadden fan and read her books as soon as I can get my hands on them. Thank you, #netgalley.com, for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. It was a fast and great read, like all of her books. You get pulled right in and can't stop reading. This one left me a little disappointed, even though it takes place in my home state of Maine. The location doesn't matter, though. It mostly takes place in one room. The twists were a little predictable and far-fetched. However, I enjoyed the book and will order it for our library.

Once again, Frieda doesn’t let you down! What a strange story, and I loved every minute of it. I hope Tuna is doing well!

Another great novel from this author filled with the suspenseful buildup and unexpected twist her readers have come to anticipate. I’m already looking forward to her next novel.

Freida McFadden continues to produce thrillers that are a quick read. Sometimes the plot is predictable but other times there is definitely a twist you didn’t see coming. This one kept me engaged from the beginning. I read it in a day.

Tegan is 8 months pregnant from a one night stand. She is about to sign a contract that will provide for her and the baby for the rest of their lives when she realizes she was raped. She no longer wants the money and wants to do the right thing and report this man. While thinking about her situation she decides to spend some time with her brother in Maine. She encounters a snowstorm and her life takes a horrible turn for the worse.Luckily she preserves and survives.

Honestly whatever Freida writes at this point... I will read. And this one will lay among her others in terms of last minute twist and convoluted story lines that leave you guessing.

This one is another "who is the bad guy here" in terms of our main character not knowing who she should trust and who she should avoid while trying to save her unborn child.

There is one character that I wish we got a little bit more of the background and perhaps that is a bit of a plot whole but all in all I really liked this book.

I never know what I’m going to get when I start a Freida book, except an easy read that hooks you from the start and that’s exactly what I got with The Crash. Tegan is a grocery store clerk who is 8 months pregnant and heads out to visit her brother when she’s involved in a crash. Some of the story lines may seem predictable, but Freida keeps you guessing. Her normal twists don’t come as huge plot twists, but seemed to me to be surprise spins throughout. I stayed up too late and read this book in one sitting. A 4 star book!

Anything Frieda writes I’m reading it … period. As usual I had thought I had this all figured out but I was wrong. Loved the twists to a story with some familiarity. Lots of good underlying messages. Great descriptions and characters.
