oh my gosh. This book was good. I did not wanna put it down for a second. I wish I could read more from her. Thank you netgalley.
I love how Megan Lally writes. I read That's not my name and I was needing more. The story was so was chefs kiss. The writing was so good. I needed more from her. Then she announced this gem. When I got accepted for this book I was so freaking excited. And guys, gals, gays, and they's. This book is so good. Megan Lally is such an awesome author.
I can't thank NetGalley and the publishers enough for granting me this ARC. Earlier this year, I had read "That's Not My Name" by Megan Lally and loved it so much that when I heard about her new book, I couldn't wait to read it!
I had high expectations for "No Place Left to Die," and it exceeded all of them!
I was so drawn in by the plot, the writing, and the characters that I read it in less than 24 hours.
The pace was as fast as the car chase that we followed; it was impossible to stop myself from reading. The atmosphere was spooky and eerie; I was on the edge of my seat every time I had to begin a new chapter. The layout made the suspense, as we swung between past and present chapters.
I don't want to spoil the plot, so I can't say as much as I want.
Despite some predictable elements, some plot twists left me shocked. The characters were also very interesting, and my heart goes to Jena ♡.
A book I will recommend over and over, and I'm sure that I'll remember this reading for a long time.
This was a great twisty YA thriller with a Gossip girl vibe that will have you second guessing everything as more and more is revealed!
When Brooke gets accepted into her dream school, nothing can get in her way of success. But there are many secrets in this story that will potentially bring everything crashing down. After a celebration party, she is being run off the road. Who’s following her and what do they want?
This book started out a tad slow then I just couldn’t put it down! It was a quick read with a satisfying ending!
I was a BIG fan of Megan’s first book: That’s Not My Name, unfortunately, I didn’t love this one quite as much. What I will say though, is I really rate Megan’s writing style. It’s sharp and edgy and filled with so much suspense.
No Place Left to Hide, rates at 3 stars for me, the fast-paced ending, the short chapters, the tension had me pushing to finish it within one sitting. It was certainly easy to read and I’d definitely recommend this to YA thriller lovers. But, unfortunately, I didn’t feel much investment in the characters, the characters were all extremely unlikable. I guessed what was going to happen very early on and it felt really far fetched with one too many plot holes and inconsistencies. I’m disappointed I didn’t love this one as much as I was expecting too, but I can see a lot of readers absolutely devouring and loving this one.
Just as a side note: this would adapt REALLY well into a movie.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review 🙂
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for an ARC of this title.
I absolutely loved this book! It was not at all what I expected. There were twists and turns and the ending...Oh! My! God! THAT ENDING! If you enjoy fast paced, YA books I definitely recommend you grab a copy right away!
Hahahahahah wow! What a masterpiece! I was so nervous picking up another Megan Lally after being blown away by That’s Not My Name, and there was a moment while reading this that I felt my anxieties and nerves were being justified. Megan Lally, I apologize for doubting you. The plot twist in this book left my jaw on the floor!
This book is the perfect fast paced thriller that screams teen slasher, legit the perfect read for this beautiful spooky season 👻👏
I will say, I liked That’s Not My Name more, but this baddie is still getting a 5 star. I will never stop thinking about that plot twist..wow.
Megan Lally has done it again! Another fast paced, twisty thriller. No Place Left to Hide is full of suspense and has the best PNW setting with creepy vibes. While I guessed part of the twist before it was revealed, I still really enjoyed the journey of getting there. Another great page turner by Lally. I hope she continues to give us more!

For some reason this book didn’t land it the same way as That’s Not My Name did. I thought that was a 5 star, fast paced, perfect thriller read with twists I wasn’t expecting.
With that said, the first 30-40% of No Place Left To Hide felt pretty slow moving to me. When things did pick up, I felt like before too long I had everything figured out - and my predictions ended up being correct. However, I did enjoy the ride and I was still captivated! The last half of this book absolutely flew by. I enjoyed the writing and the dual timeline. Overall, I’d give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Might have just had my expectations set too high after the first book but nevertheless this was an enjoyable read!
Megan Lally has done it again! I thoroughly enjoyed the sophomore book from the author of That's Not My Name (which I devoured in one sitting on a 4 hour flight). In Nowhere Left to Hide, Brooke Goodwin is at a turning point in her life where she will finally have the opportunity to step forward and leave her past mistakes behind. Her college dreams are within reach and her crush is showing interest at last. She heads to a party on the coast but has no idea what's in store for her on the way back.
This book is full of twists and turns, just like the road between Salem, OR and the coast that Brooke must navigate. Fans of Taylor Adams will appreciate the fast paced suspense and dual timelines. Brooke is a well done unreliable narrator and as her night unravels, so does our trust in her. Whether you're rooting for her or rooting for her downfall, it's a hell of a joyride. I did guess a bit of the twist but still enjoyed watching it all unfold. The PNW vibes made me miss living there so much. Thank you Megan!
Megan Lally delivers another fast paced read you won't want to put down. Is it as good as That's Not My Name?? 🫣 No, that's almost impossible. I loved that book and it was soooo twisty! I still REALLY enjoyed this book and read over half of it in one sitting.
Brooke keeps getting intimidating phone calls, slashed tires, and someone obviously thinks she knows more than she says she does about a death that happened last year. She's been laying low since "the incident" but it's the end of her senior year and there's one last party she figures it can't hurt to go to.
Stalkers, mean girls, covered up lies, and lake parties gone wrong. If you like a fast paced twisty read, this is for you!
I have some questions about some plot holes, but I'm also ok with them. Lol. When will Megan Lally write her next book? I can't wait to read it!!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC to enjoy.
Like this authors previous book, this is such a fast paced read and it will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Just when I thought I had everything figured out things would take a turn and I realized I didn’t know anything.
Highly recommend this one if you’re looking for a fast paced read that will keep you glued to the pages.
Loved this book, super quick paced, so many twists and turns that I just couldn’t put it down and the ending was just incredible!
4/5 star⭐
Plot

With her dream university within reach, she decides to celebrate with her classmates. A cozy evening with her crush by the bonfire seems like the perfect conclusion to the night. Brooke’s worst fears are about to surface—if she survives the night.
Thoughts
I loved Megan Lally’s first book and was excited to read this one!!!
I praise the book for its incredibly fast pace, intense shifts between past and present, and gripping tension which led me to finish it in one sitting. I enjoyed the shocking twists and climax but found the characters highly unlikeable, including both the antagonists and victims, which made some of their motivations feel implausible. Despite some dissatisfaction with certain explanations and plot twists, I give the book 4 stars for its thrilling, fast-paced nature and I recommend to YA thriller fans.
Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for sending me an arc!!
I was hooked. My jaw was on the floor. I read this so quickly. I just had to know how things went. This is my second book by Megan Lally. She hasn’t disappointed yet.
Mean girls, highschool drama, secrets, a stalker and a dead classmate culminate in this tense and unputdownable YA thriller.
No Place Left To Hide is mind-blowing! The back and forth between the past and the present is perfect - it builds up tension and pressure but also leaves much to be anticapated. You also get to a point in the story where EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER has an insane cliffhanger and then the timeline changes and you hate it until another shocking revelation comes out and the cycle repeates endlessly. It’s also so addicting! I read it in one day and I think it is the perfect length for a thrilling thriller (pun intended); it isn’t dragged out and as soon as we are introduced to the characters things start to get creepy and suspicious and you have a million theories running around in your head. I have to be honest, the plot isn’t new or unique but it’s still executed amazingly so that didn’t affect my reading experience at all. The whole book is part mystery, part car chase and I just had so much fun with this. I love a good car chase moment and things just kept escalating unbelievably, I loved it! Plus the ending is insane, it was so unexpected and had me on the edge of my seat with my jaw on the floor 😂
The only thing I didn’t love about this book is the explanation for all of this. I don’t know it just felt like the reason for everything happening was a little far-fetched given the knowledge that certain characters had. That’s as much as I can say without spoilers though :)
Thank you to Megan Lally, NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire gifting my an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally is your standard YA thriller - you'll predict the plot and ending pretty quickly if you're a regular reader of the genre. This one happens to be pretty over the top in terms of plot and unlikeable characters, in the style of Gossip Girl (both the original and remake). Still, I flew through this in one sitting because it's easy to read and I wanted the confirmation of my plot prediction. The ending is a little unsatisfying. It does wrap up, no question, but we see it from a more removed POV, which is different from the rest of the book. I'd like to see a little more detail there or hear from the MC again. Overall, give it a try if you enjoy quick thriller reads when your brain needs a break from books with complicated wold building and characters.
I was hooked from page one and loved this thriller…until the truth about THAT night came to light. The female MC wasn’t particularly likable from the beginning but I must say the conclusion of the story disappointed me—it felt like the easy route out. I would have hoped the author had found a more clever resolution that tied everything together and given it a different ending. That said, I couldn’t put it down. The pacing is perfect, shifting seamlessly between past and present, and the story delivers some truly heart-stopping moments.
3.5 stars rounded up
I was so excited to read this book after devouring Lally's debut novel, That's Not My Name. I'm not a big YA reader, but if there's a lot of buzz and good reviews, I will definitely give it a shot. FOMO, you know?! Unfortunately, my lack of overall enjoyment for this one is disappointing. It was fast paced, well written, and presented an interesting storyline, but I detested all of the snotty, entitled characters and the ending was extremely unbelievable. I can't fathom that more of these characters weren't in trouble for what they had done. I just couldn't relate to this. I think that YA thriller readers are going to love this book. I would definitely recommend even though I didn't love it. And I will still look forward to reading more from this author.

This book had me in a doozy. Honestly I was left speechless, from beginning to end I was very hooked. This is the type of plot that I love to read. And trust me when I say this book was not long enough. I couldn’t stop turning the page I even had to have my iPad read it to me while I was cooking because I didnt want the sizzle from my food to keep me from hearing the story. I am not one to have that happen to often. But this story is exactly what I needed. I was in for a wild ride and I didn’t even know it yet. I also had never had a feeling of being spooked by a book but the lights were off and I was a little bit on edge.
The only thing that I felt a little iffy about was the ending and the reasons behind how both sides were justifying their decisions and acts because nothing justified what both parties did. I feel like there were other ways to go about things and everyone involved took it way too far and I just couldn’t get behind anyone. But this was exactly what I needed to read during this fall season. I had so much fun diving into this story and that plot twist was crazy. I was suspicious but I also thought maybe I was imagining and seeing things where there wasn’t much to see. The writing was great as well, so much so that you forgot it was a book and not a movie. But it was so good. I definitely recommend, especially if you like this type of storyline.
