3.75⭐️ While I felt like the author did a good job keeping me on the edge of my seat, I figured out what was happening pretty easily. There were a couple of little things that took me by surprise, but I thought it was easy to figure out. I still enjoyed it though!
Brooke is rich and always gets everything she wants. She goes to a party on the beach to celebrate getting into Yale but on the way home, she and her best friend are trailed by another car that wants nothing more than to see Brooke confess to something horrible they think she did or else!
This book was fast-paced and kept me turning the pages! I am not sure if the author the main characters so insufferable on purpose, but they were NOT very likable. 😂 The story was also pretty predictable, however, I still found the story to be enjoyable. I found nuggets of surprise despite the predictability.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for this advanced e-copy in exchange for this honest review.

I recently read That's Not My Name and was thrilled to have an ARC for her upcoming release. Once I started I could not put this book down, I read it in a day. I really enjoyed the pace and high tension. While this gave YA vibes with the entitlement and drama, it was still a great thriller.
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED this book!
I really liked Lally's debut and I was excited but also scared to read this 2nd book as I didn't know if it would be as good, but it absolutely is! It is just as suspenseful and intriguing and scary as the first one.
Megan Lally is a master at writing YA thrillers that are realistic, play on misdirection and assumptions to surprise the reader, and involve characters that you end up caring about so much, all with a satisfying ending (which honestly, is so so rare).
I am so thankful to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Thank you Sourcebooks Fire and NetGalley for this advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review. I loved That's Not My Name so when I seen Megan Lally had a second book coming out I was excited and let me tell you she did not disappoint! This was a quick read and I enjoyed it just as much as her first book.

“No Place Left to Hide” by Megan Lally was an exhilarating, non-stop read that made me distrust everyone. I devoured it in a day. I had one guess about the plot twist, but the others had me rereading the book to catch all the clues. This book is a must-read for anyone who loves a good YA thriller.

Wow, this book totally sucked me in from the very first page! The suspense was real, and I honestly couldn’t stop reading. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, wanting to know what would happen next. If you love thrillers that keep you up late reading, this one is definitely for you.
I really enjoyed the alternating timelines between "before" and "now." It was such a clever way to reveal the story bit by bit, and I found myself constantly piecing things together as I went along. The way the past and present intertwined made everything feel so much more intense, and I loved how it all slowly came to light.
Brooke’s character was well-written. Her obsession with maintaining the perfect image made her both relatable and frustrating at times, but it really added to the tension of the story. As things started to unravel, I found myself sympathizing with her more and more. The mystery surrounding her and the incident kept me intrigued, and I loved how it all came together.
The only reason this isn’t a full 5 stars for me is that it felt a little too short. Just as I was really invested in the story, it wrapped up quickly. But honestly, that’s more of a "good problem"—I just didn’t want it to end!
If you’re into fast-paced thrillers that leave you breathless and guessing until the end, you need to add this to your TBR. I’m already thinking about what this author will write next!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this arc.
At first read, knowing this was a high school story- I thought ‘this is too young adult for me’ but I am glad I did t DNF. The twists definitely caught me by surprise and if you have the same initial feelings that I did- don’t stop- continue till the end!!!

Brooke Goodwin’s school year is coming to a close and then she will be able to put the past year behind her. All she’s waiting for is an acceptance to Yale and she can leave Dallas, Oregon and the harassment of No Caller ID in her rearview mirror. Her stalker has different ideas and things are taken into overdrive when a vehicle begins tailgating her on a dark, deserted road and they tell her it’s time to play Truth or Die.
This book has a really good sense of nostalgia for a very specific era of slasher films that I just know is going to really appeal to readers. There is something so fun about the trope of a stalker knowing a secret that could destroy you and Lally does a great job playing with this idea. This book is so full of twists and turns that it feels like just when you think you are getting a grip on what’s truth and what is lie, it rams into you just like the white Bronco in this story. The duel timelines work really effectively to build a sense of suspense as the reader feels time ticking down in the present whilst there is a building anxiety to learn the truth of “the incident” in the past.
At this point, I would recommend turning away from this review if you intend to read as this book is most effective when you know as little as possible…
I was completely drawn into Brooke’s version of events and love, love, LOVE that she was an unreliable narrator because it really took me by surprise when the truth was revealed as you realise that she is completely delulu. I did think that the book was a little bit insistent that Brandon was the one harassing her which made it obvious that it wouldn’t be him. And then the final unveiling of everything was just absolutely delicious.
This book is a wild ride and thoroughly enjoyable.

4.25⭐️
Many times second books can be a letdown after a successful debut novel. This is NOT the case with Megan Lally’s “No Place Left to Hide”. I enjoyed this book so much more than her first.
I’m thankful to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the complimentary eARC so I could leave an early review.
This book is told is a duel timeline format which is done seamlessly. They just flow together and intersect at the right moments making this an absolute page turner.
While I figured out the intended “twists” it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book. I stayed up way too late to try to get to the end but my body won out and I was glad . I wanted the focus and clarity to read the last 30% of the book after a good sleep!
One thing I really liked is that you were always learning something with each chapter. It kept the action moving. I can’t say I particularly liked the FMC but in the end I was thrilled for her outcome.
This is a YA book that will have a speak to any thriller lover regardless of age! It comes out January 7th 2025 so get it on your TBR!! I know I’ll be getting the physical copy for my home library!
My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.
⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

I would like to start out this post by thanking Sourcebooks Fire and Megan Lally for allowing me to read this book, No Place Left to Hide, via #Netgalley. All opinions following are my own.
This new book from Megan Lally took me on a ride, and I did not want to get off. The story follows the main character, Brooke, who leads the perfect life, or at least it seems. She is the queen bee at her prestigious high school, and she finally just got accepted to her dream school, Yale. Not everything is as it seems, though, because "an incident" a few months prior to the novel's opening is threatening to ruin everything for Brooke, her family, and their perfect image. Someone is bound to make her pay for "the incident" even at the cost of Brooke's life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The jump between the present time and the time of "the incident" was easy to follow and added to the build-up of the suspense. I did figure out part of the twist, but it honestly didn't ruin the story for me because build up to the twist was so well-written. I easily gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Thank you to NetGalley for an early copy of a book I was highly anticipating. As I just finished reading, I’m slightly encouraged by the ending. I liked the format. Overall, though, I was a bit disappointed in this sophomore effort after having adored That’s Not My Name. This book would, frankly, be a better movie. It had lots of Scream vibes. I got bogged down by the very detailed descriptions of physical fights. Clearly, the characters were not likes or but I don’t think they were supposed to be. That being said, they were all fairly one note. Lally used a similar tactic from her first book, giving the reader the protagonist view of who a character is, even misnaming them at times to show what the protagonist believes to be true. It was just executed better before when it dropped right at the end. I saw the red herring from miles away on this one.

I was so honored to be chosen to read this book early. I absolutely loved Megan Lally's first book so I had great expectations for this one.
It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's a perfect balance of mean girls, revenge and thriller. It was perfectly executed and I can't wait to read more books by Megan. These books just keep me wanting to keep reading because I have to know what is going to happen next. The build up was so good, I hope her books become movies because I'll definitely be watching. I highly recommend this book.

"No Place Left to Hide" is a fast-paced, unputdownable thriller that gradually unveils its story through a dual timeline, making it perfect for YA mystery thriller enthusiasts. Last summer, a tragic incident occurred at a party hosted by Brooke at her family's lake house, resulting in a girl's death. Now, Brooke is plagued by anonymous calls threatening to expose the truth of that night. With her image at stake, she has strived for perfection in her grades, appearance, and life, particularly after the "incident." Having secured a spot at her dream university, she looks forward to a new beginning. However, her resolve is tested when a bonfire celebration beckons, offering a chance to see her crush. The night takes a harrowing turn when a truck begins to tailgate them aggressively on the way home, leaving Brooke convinced that someone is determined to unearth the truth. This YA high school mystery thriller captivated me with its suspense and I eagerly anticipate exploring Megan Lally's other work, "That's Not My Name."
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

WOW!! This book took a turn I was not expecting at all. The dual timeline really helped draw in the suspense and kept you wanting to read more and more. It also created a mystery in both the past and present that you were trying to uncover. The characters all seemed so innocent in the beginning. I really thought this was going to be taken a different direction, so it surprised me in the end to see what truly happened.
This was my first YA thriller and I loved the mix of drama with suspense. Felt a little repetitive at times, but overall loved this book!
Thank you to NetGalley & Sourcebooks Fire for this ARC!! I have been wanting to read Megan Lally’s, That’s Not My Name for a while now but have not gotten to it, so I was so excited to see the arc for her new book. I absolutely loved this and cannot wait to go back and read her other book now!

WOW. This book caught me by surprise. First of all, the dual timeline isn’t always something I enjoy, but it worked SO WELL for this plot!! It basically made it double the mystery and I found myself wanting to find out what happened in both the past and present. Also, the surprise unreliable narrator was a plot twist I never saw coming! I figured Jena or Dylan had something to do with it but not Brooke straight up going rogue! Overall I loved the gossip girl mixed with thriller vibes the book gave off! I would give 4.5 stars overall. The only reason I didn’t give a full five stars is that a few places seemed a little redundant or slightly off for my taste, but super minor. Thank you for this great read!

Thank you to Sourcebooks Fire for the arc!! I LOVED this one. I already knew I was a Megan Lally fan with That’s Not My Name and this was another great read. It’s fun, it’s thrilling, it’s twisted, and it all takes place in one night! I really enjoyed the fast pace and once the ball starts rolling it never stopped! I’m grateful that it didn’t drag on and the action starts and never stops. I’m not usually a huge of YA books but this one feels young but not in an annoying way. One of my most anticipated reads of 2025, so glad I got to read it a little early, I struggled to put it down!

okay this is my first YA thriller and what a ride! i honestly didn’t think id enjoy it as much as i did but i ate it up. enter perfect it girl brooke who is willing to do just about anything to achieve her dreams and maintain her perfect image. and when i say anything, i mean anything! 🫨
we have mean girls but with a sociopathic twist. jumping from past to present really sets the tone, and the high stress atmosphere adds to the bottleneck drama. i was reading this like “girl what is you doing?! - and the ending tied up really well and was very vindicating!
i had a fun time with this one and definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a wildly suspenseful YA thriller with a bratty protagonist who stops at nothing to get her way.
thank you to sourcebooks fire and netgalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I enjoyed Megan Lally’s debut novel and was exited for the ARC of her second novel. This one was DARK, and characters were twisted and deprived and the last few chapters had my jaw hanging open 😮 If you enjoyed her first novel, or want to try a new author, I would recommend No Place Left to Hide!

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Near perfect thriller, a twist I didn’t see coming! I’m definitely going to purchase and reread! Has the perfect amount of believability that makes YA thrillers so appealing as an adult reader.

Brooke, the golden girl, is blamed for the death of a classmate at her beach house. She is receiving anonymous phone calls, notes but tells no one. Then one night after a party, a car is following her and her friend Jen, home. This was gripping and scary.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
