Like this authors previous book, this is such a fast paced read and it will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Just when I thought I had everything figured out things would take a turn and I realized I didn’t know anything.

Highly recommend this one if you’re looking for a fast paced read that will keep you glued to the pages.

I loved Megan Lally’s first book and was excited to read this one!!!
I praise the book for its incredibly fast pace, intense shifts between past and present, and gripping tension which led me to finish it in one sitting. I enjoyed the shocking twists and climax but found the characters highly unlikeable, including both the antagonists and victims, which made some of their motivations feel implausible. Despite some dissatisfaction with certain explanations and plot twists, I give the book 4 stars for its thrilling, fast-paced nature and I recommend to YA thriller fans.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for sending me an arc!!

I was hooked. My jaw was on the floor. I read this so quickly. I just had to know how things went. This is my second book by Megan Lally. She hasn’t disappointed yet.

Mean girls, highschool drama, secrets, a stalker and a dead classmate culminate in this tense and unputdownable YA thriller.

No Place Left To Hide is mind-blowing! The back and forth between the past and the present is perfect - it builds up tension and pressure but also leaves much to be anticapated. You also get to a point in the story where EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER has an insane cliffhanger and then the timeline changes and you hate it until another shocking revelation comes out and the cycle repeates endlessly. It’s also so addicting! I read it in one day and I think it is the perfect length for a thrilling thriller (pun intended); it isn’t dragged out and as soon as we are introduced to the characters things start to get creepy and suspicious and you have a million theories running around in your head. I have to be honest, the plot isn’t new or unique but it’s still executed amazingly so that didn’t affect my reading experience at all. The whole book is part mystery, part car chase and I just had so much fun with this. I love a good car chase moment and things just kept escalating unbelievably, I loved it! Plus the ending is insane, it was so unexpected and had me on the edge of my seat with my jaw on the floor 😂

The only thing I didn’t love about this book is the explanation for all of this. I don’t know it just felt like the reason for everything happening was a little far-fetched given the knowledge that certain characters had. That’s as much as I can say without spoilers though :)

Thank you to Megan Lally, NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire gifting my an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally is your standard YA thriller - you'll predict the plot and ending pretty quickly if you're a regular reader of the genre. This one happens to be pretty over the top in terms of plot and unlikeable characters, in the style of Gossip Girl (both the original and remake). Still, I flew through this in one sitting because it's easy to read and I wanted the confirmation of my plot prediction. The ending is a little unsatisfying. It does wrap up, no question, but we see it from a more removed POV, which is different from the rest of the book. I'd like to see a little more detail there or hear from the MC again. Overall, give it a try if you enjoy quick thriller reads when your brain needs a break from books with complicated wold building and characters.

I was hooked from page one and loved this thriller…until the truth about THAT night came to light. The female MC wasn’t particularly likable from the beginning but I must say the conclusion of the story disappointed me—it felt like the easy route out. I would have hoped the author had found a more clever resolution that tied everything together and given it a different ending. That said, I couldn’t put it down. The pacing is perfect, shifting seamlessly between past and present, and the story delivers some truly heart-stopping moments.

3.5 stars rounded up

I was so excited to read this book after devouring Lally's debut novel, That's Not My Name. I'm not a big YA reader, but if there's a lot of buzz and good reviews, I will definitely give it a shot. FOMO, you know?! Unfortunately, my lack of overall enjoyment for this one is disappointing. It was fast paced, well written, and presented an interesting storyline, but I detested all of the snotty, entitled characters and the ending was extremely unbelievable. I can't fathom that more of these characters weren't in trouble for what they had done. I just couldn't relate to this. I think that YA thriller readers are going to love this book. I would definitely recommend even though I didn't love it. And I will still look forward to reading more from this author.

This book had me in a doozy. Honestly I was left speechless, from beginning to end I was very hooked. This is the type of plot that I love to read. And trust me when I say this book was not long enough. I couldn’t stop turning the page I even had to have my iPad read it to me while I was cooking because I didnt want the sizzle from my food to keep me from hearing the story. I am not one to have that happen to often. But this story is exactly what I needed. I was in for a wild ride and I didn’t even know it yet. I also had never had a feeling of being spooked by a book but the lights were off and I was a little bit on edge.

The only thing that I felt a little iffy about was the ending and the reasons behind how both sides were justifying their decisions and acts because nothing justified what both parties did. I feel like there were other ways to go about things and everyone involved took it way too far and I just couldn’t get behind anyone. But this was exactly what I needed to read during this fall season. I had so much fun diving into this story and that plot twist was crazy. I was suspicious but I also thought maybe I was imagining and seeing things where there wasn’t much to see. The writing was great as well, so much so that you forgot it was a book and not a movie. But it was so good. I definitely recommend, especially if you like this type of storyline.

Oh man, I wanted to like this book SO HARD. But I'm sitting here struggling with how it all ended up. I need something more redeeming from this story arc. As someone who reads a lot of mysteries, the twists and turns weren't surprising enough like they were in Lally's debut. I hate to not like this book but I am just left asking "WHY?"

I really enjoyed this book a lot. There was a lot of suspense and it was written very well! The absolute betrayal that happened in the book!

This was a good and twisty thriller! I do think there were some TERRIBLE characters here in this book, and that did make me like the book a bit less. I did enjoy the twists and turns, but some were pretty predictable so that was really annoying, I hate it when that happens.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

I absolutely loved Megan Lally's first book and was so very excited to get my hands on this one! First let me say, there are some very unlikeable characters in this one. That does not bother me but I know some people need to like the characters to be able to enjoy a book. It is quite unbelievable and really puts out how rich/influential people can get away with quite literally anything. In fact, this sort of reminded me of Paul Murdaugh and how much he was able to get away with. In that sense, some of the actions start to become a bit more believable. I read this in one day and it was such a fast paced and hard to put down kind of book. The ending was where it really got to be a bit out there and hard to believe but overall I enjoyed it. It was quite thrilling and action packed. I definitely figured out where everything was going and who was involved, but with it being YA I think the author did a great job with everything. I still think her first book is my favorite but I am so excited to see what she writes next!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I'm always very happy about an ARC and being able to give it a review! <3

After her debut "that's not my name" I couldn't wait to read her second book and well... what can I say? It absolutely blew me away!

The characters are perfectly described and the story starts immediately exciting. It feels like you're there the whole time.

If you really pay attention, you'll know who's behind it towards the end... but the author was still able to get a lot out of it in the end. The ending was just *chefs kiss* I just couldn't put it down and had to finish it in one sitting.

If you want to read an exciting thriller, there you go !!

What I loved:

-The writing style.
-The cover
-This was a fun thriller read

What prevented this from being a 5 star book for me

-I did not feel myself getting invested in the story or caring about the plot as much as I would have liked
-The multiple time periods of before and after is something I am not the biggest fan of.
-Heavy focus on the party throughout the book lost my interest. I believe this just isn't the book for me.

Brooke is being harassed by a blocked number who calls repeatedly, which she believes is connected to several times her car has been vandalized (newspapers, bumper stickers, slashing tires). All of this she blames on the brother of the girl at the center of the incident. Regardless of all of this, she’s still accepted into Yale and doing well at school. She goes to a party to celebrate her Yale acceptance and the night does not turn out as she expected.

This story is being told in two timelines, before the incident and after. It’s primarily from Brooke’s POV.

It was a fast paced, interesting story. I enjoyed That’s Not My Name, so I wanted to give this one a chance. I was trying not to compare them, but I felt this was a bit more predictable and I wasn’t shocked by the ending. I didn’t like a single person in this book.

I’m sorry. This was too preposterous for me. Too unbelievable and outrageously convoluted.

As always, I appreciate the opportunity. Thank you.

like her previous book "thats not my name", this kept me turning the pages quickly. This author surely knows how to write a good thriller. Stalkers + a dead body + lots of secrets made for such a fun bingeable read. its kind of a mix between mean girls and I know what you did last summer. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally is a fast-paced read that I recommend to YA thriller lovers.

The story revolves around Brooke, a character who works hard to maintain perfect grades and looks after a life-threatening incident. The plot takes an unexpected turn when an old truck aggressively tails Brooke and her best friend, leading to a terrifying drive that brings out Brooke's worst fears. While I wasn't completely convinced with some of the explanations, the book is an enjoyable read that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Overall, I'd rate it as a thrilling and engaging YA novel.

summary:
I am really torn about this book! On one hand, I read it in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. On the other, it’s incredibly maddening and the characters are impossible to like. It’s about popular high school senior, Brooke Goodwin, the child of a wealthy and esteemed family in the Pacific Northwest. Daughter of a soon-to-be judge, she has is a model student — perfect grades, perfect life — until an incident happens at her family’s lake house where a classmate and former friend, Claire, drowns. The story, set a year later, revolves around the fallout of that accident. Brooke is receiving anonymous phone calls, has her car vandalized and is under threat from her parents to stay out of trouble until she graduates. She decides though to attend an “Ivy Party” with her best friend Jena at another friend’s lake house, where she finds that she can’t keep running from that fateful night.

As for the characters, Brooke is entitled, elitist and a typical privileged teen who takes no responsibility for what happens around her. Her friends, who seem to only exist in her orbit, worship the ground she walks on. I can’t say much more without giving anything away, but we go back and forth between the night of the accident and the current evening, as Brooke reflects back on the night one of her best friends died. The book itself is a legitimate chase scene almost the whole way through, in a surreal effort for someone to get Brooke to pay. There are a few plot holes, a few inconsistencies and an incredible lack of accountability across the board. Despite this though, it’s a shorter novel and you won’t be able to put it down.

Thanks to Sourcebooks Fire and NetGalley for the advanced copy. For a quick YA thriller, check this out when it releases on January 7.
