No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally is a gripping, heart-pounding thriller that keeps readers on their toes from start to finish. The novel follows the journey of a woman on the run after witnessing a crime, with nowhere safe to turn and no one she can trust. Lally does an exceptional job of building a tense, high-stakes atmosphere, keeping the suspense alive with every page. The stakes are high, and the pacing never falters, making it a true page-turner.

Lally’s writing is sharp and engaging, drawing you into the protagonist’s increasingly perilous world. The character development is strong, particularly with the main character, whose resilience and determination to survive are both relatable and inspiring. As the story unfolds, the tension continues to escalate, and Lally does an excellent job of keeping readers guessing about who can be trusted and what will happen next.

What really stands out in No Place Left to Hide is the emotional depth woven into the thriller. While the plot is fast-paced and full of suspense, Lally also manages to explore themes of trust, survival, and the psychological toll of living in constant fear. The complexity of the characters and their relationships adds an extra layer of depth to the story, making it not only a thrilling read but an emotionally resonant one.

That being said, the plot can feel somewhat predictable at times, and some of the twists, while satisfying, aren’t as surprising as they could be. Additionally, the ending, while satisfying, left me wanting just a bit more resolution, as some loose ends felt like they could have been tied up more fully.

Overall, No Place Left to Hide is an engaging and suspenseful novel that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. With its strong pacing, emotional depth, and high tension, it's an excellent choice for fans of psychological thrillers. It’s a solid 4/5 star read, and Megan Lally certainly shows great promise in this fast-paced, thrilling debut. I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.

This YA thriller had me from the author's dedication! It gave 'Mean Girls' meets 'Pretty Little Liars' vibes which I was here for. I found one of the FMC Brooke so extremely annoying, but it was needed for the storyline! It was a quick and fun read!

"Revenge is a bitch...and so am I."

Thank you NetGalley, Megan Lally, and Sourcebooks Fire for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book in one day because it’s a quick read and I couldn’t put it down. Think back to high school - all the friends, the parties, the parents expectations….

Brooke comes from a high profile family that has a serious image to uphold. Unfortunately for Brooke her parents are more worried about themselves and their image to make their daughter feel loved and wanted. When she gets into Yale her dad’s response is that he expected it and reminds her that this is one step in her road. Heartbreaking to read!!

Brooke holds a back to school party in September and at that party something terrible happens. Someone thinks Brooke is responsible and is harassing her but Brooke won’t tell anyone. As the harassment escalates into a fast paced ending the reader is along for the whole ride!

Another outstanding thriller from this author! I was thrilled to dive into this book, especially after being captivated by Megan’s debut novel, That’s Not My Name. I couldn’t wait to read more of her work, and this book absolutely delivered. Packed with secrets, drama, and confessions, it was truly popcorn worthy.

From start to finish, I was on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what would happen next. I had plenty of theories along the way some of which turned out to be right, but the twists and new details constantly kept me second guessing myself, which I absolutely loved.

I will admit, this book had a knack for making me dislike the characters. Even when I didn’t know who was guilty of what, I found it hard to root for most of them. However, understanding their motives added complexity to their actions, and I think it’s a testament to Megan’s skill as a writer that she evoked such strong emotions in me.

Ultimately, I couldn’t put this book down and finished it in one sitting. Megan has officially become an auto buy author for me, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

*Thank you Netgalley & Sourcebooks fire for giving me the opportunity to read this as an early copy!*

No Place Left to Hide can best be described as if Mean Girls were a thriller! It has a very Pretty Little Liars feel to it, being an edge-of-your-seat young adult suspense. It had me hooked from beginning to end. Though I found the twists predictable pretty early on (unlike Lally’s debut book “That’s Not My Name”), it still had me rapidly turning the pages. It’s a very quick and fun read that held my attention throughout!

Thank you to Megan Lally, Sourcebooks, RBMedia, & NetGalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

A great second book! Wondered about the twist and was surprised I considered it. A really quick read and I enjoyed it.

I am a big fan of this author, and I was excited to read her Why novel. And the story definitely starts out with a bang. Brooke is the perfect student, the perfect daughter, and is very soon off to her perfect college career hopefully at an IV. She has a best friend and a boy she likes who seems to like her back, the only problem is the death of her former friend this summer before keeps tainting her success and making everybody think she had something to do with it. As the story goes on, you realize that not everybody in this story is who they say they are or has the intentions that they say they do. I will say that I did figure out what was going on early on, but I was definitely engaged enough to keep reading and to see how it all unfolded. I did find the ending Kind of anti-climatic and I’m not sure if that’s because I knew what was going to happen or it just felt like it was wrapped up too quickly and too tightly. I know that my students will be a big fan of this book so it will definitely have a home in my classroom

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the whole present to past part of this book! Each memory gives more answers to the mystery behind what happened on the lake in the past. I found some part to be fairly predictable but others that I didn’t see coming! The characters were well developed and the setting is perfect for the story. I would recommend to anyone who likes mysteries and psychological thrillers involving young adults!

I haven't read a YA thriller in awhile and this one caught my attention. I enjoyed it. It's a really quick read with short chapters and lots of action. It definitely kept my attention with the suspense. Yes, the characters can be pretty awful but sometimes it works and it did for this one.

Out MC Brooke is all about her perfect image. One night last summer, while out with her friends at her lake house, something terrible happened, someone ended up dead. This changes everything for her, and now she's paying the consequences. She's getting suspicious calls….and she thinks someone is out for her. She's been accepted to her dream university now, and it's hoping for a fresh start. She's invited to a bonfire and goes. On the way home, someone starts to recklessly tailgate her and her friend. She knows that someone is out for the truth.

Such a fun read. I highly recommend it if you want that HS thriller with some twists and lots of drama!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of No Place Left to Hide. It goes without saying, kids can be mean. Megan Lally took that statement and transformed it into pure ruthlessness. In the beginning, I was worried that the pacing was a bit slow. As I kept reading, I began to get into the book and the story came together. There were a few aspects of the story that were underwhelming but overall, I think it was a good read.

WHOA - that was one intense and crazy ride! Megan Lally delivers a second heart pounding, pulse racing, edge of my seat, thrilling book!

While I usually tend to stay away from YA thrillers, Lally has shown me the error of my ways! After reading 'That's Not My Name' and loving it, I was beyond excited to check this book out. I was immediately hooked and reading about Brooke "now" versus "then" brilliantly added to the suspense and intrigue. As Brooke's life was becoming more frantic, so was the "then" storyline of Brooke. This is one of those rare books (for me)where I wish I could read it again for the first time.

I rated this 4.5 stars but happily rounded up to 5 stars. I imagine some readers may say they knew who was harassing Brooke from the very beginning but I am one who enjoys figuring it out quickly then sitting back, tensely waiting for the other character(s) to figure it out.

No Place Left to Hide released Tuesday January 7th meaning it is available NOW! I'm so excited for others to read it and I hope people love it as much as I did!

Thank you NetGalley, Megan Lally, and Sourcebooks for the opportunity to read this in exchange for honest feedback. It was a delight!

Wow! No Place Left to Hide grabs you from the very first page and doesn’t let go. This fast-paced thriller dives deep into the pressure of trying to be perfect and the secrets we try to bury. The way Megan Lally alternates between Brooke’s present and her haunting past keeps the tension building with every page. I couldn’t put it down and ended up reading it all in one go—it was that gripping.

That said, the book isn’t without its issues. Without spoiling anything, the ending didn’t quite land for me. It felt rushed, and some of the big reveals didn’t make total sense, which was a bit disappointing after such a thrilling buildup.

The characters were another sticking point. Brooke, the main character, is hard to like. Her obsession with perfection and self-centeredness made it tough to really root for her, and most of the other characters weren’t much better.

Even though this is labeled as a Young Adult book, it doesn’t feel overly YA or juvenile. The story is intense, smart, and well-paced, so it’s easy to enjoy regardless of age.

Flaws aside, I’d still recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, edge-of-your-seat thriller.

Thank you publisher and author for sharing this book with me.

WOW! This book had the perfect build. It kept me hooked the whole time. More importantly, it had me guessing constantly. Any time I was certain I knew what was happening, I was wrong. I really enjoyed the twists in this, because none of them felt boring or predictable.

This was such a good book! Had me not wanting to put it down the whole time I was reading it! Pasted my social review below.

I don’t read a lot of YA novels, but I will never say no to a Megan Lally novel. Her second book and man is it good! 50% through the end had me on my toes the whole time. My predictions did come true but did not take away from the thrill of the book. MY heart was even racing at some points. Highly recommend for ANYONE who likes their books a little spooky and…revenge-y. Also love love love the setting of the book! I love feeling like I know exactly where everything is taking place.

Brooke is eager to find out if she made it into the school of her family's dreams, and we're immediately put into the action trying to decipher what is going on with her car.

The action was slow to start, but it went from nothing to "hold on tight" in the span of a couple short chapters. I loved how well the author put in alternating chapters of the differing timelines and how both unraveled simultaneously. I was frequently getting really into what happened in a chapter, only to find out we were flipping to the other on the very next page. It kept the story moving at a quick pace, and kept me from being able to put it down because I needed to know what was being revealed next.

Were they any major innovative moments in the book? Nothing I hadn't ever really seen before. However, the way it was brought together was different. I would have loved to see more with anyone other than Brooke the whole time, maybe get another perspective on things, but that is truly my only thought on what could improve it.

No Place Left to Hide will leave your heart racing as you hurriedly read page after page.

8.5/10 i could tell this was written as a YA book, but it still was a good book, and a very fast, short read. it was another well written book by Lally where nobody was likable and you kinda hated everyone. i started to know what was happening, but i still wanted to get to the end! i read it in a day, it was a fast read. Lally manages to write her characters really well. i’ll definitely read anything else from her.

In true Megan Lally fashion, this heart-pounding thriller is a non-stop ride of suspense and intrigue. The pulse-pounding pace, coupled with the exhilarating time jumps, keep you guessing until the final page. I’m torn on loving this book though because every single character was just so despicably unlikeable which made it harder to really engage with and believe in the story. While the ending left me with more questions than answers, the sheer intensity of the story made it a compelling, if imperfect, read. The thrilling plot and shocking revelations will definitely make this an appealing read for YA thriller lovers!
