The Stories We Tell is a book that left me thinking a lot about marriage and trust. Growing up I was taught that you trust your family, especially your spouse. This book brought all that into question. Eve wants to trust Cooper, wants to believe all that he is telling her, yet the truths he is telling her are not quite adding up. As she learns more and does more research into the happening s of the night of the car accident, more and more do not add up. She knows that she has to discover the truth. It was hard to see her questioning her husband and the life they had, the internal struggles she had made her doubt everything she ever wanted. Eve is a character that I could not help but feel for, yet there were times I wanted to shake her and tell her to wake up and see what is happening in her own life. To see how the lies were affecting her daughter and herself.

I really enjoyed this entire book. The characters were great and easy to relate to, the plot kept me having to read, and the mystery of what the truth was kept me totally engaged in the story. I highly recommend The Stories We Tell. Patti Callahan Henry is an author that has never let me down, keeping me entertained well into the night.
