I loved this fast paced and suspense filled thriller. It was very hard to know who Polly could trust and it seemed as if anyone at the resort could have been the culprit. I really enjoyed how the author kept turning up the tension, Once I reached the halfway point of the book, I just couldn't put it down and finished the rest of the book in one sitting. I've never read anything from Amanda Brittany before but I'm certainly going to be looking for more books from her!
Thank you, NetGallry, for a wonderful time with this ARC.

This book is incredibly suspenseful and so well written that you can actually see the details depicted in the book. I loved the different POVs and timelines, and the twists just kept coming!

This is a creepy and suspenseful novel that ratchets up the tension steadily. I really liked it and enjoyed the different narratives, it pulls you in so slowly but effectively, I didn’t realise how quickly I’d read it, it’s that good!

Polly, a victim of a recent stalker, finds herself at an exclusive art retreat, set in the town her birth family is from. The retreat is the perfect escape from the latest incidents and she can search for the truth about her birth family. The property has recently been renovated and with only one photo of her mother, she knows she’s at the right place. Polly has an eerie feeling about the hotel and when disturbing incidents start happening, she’ wonders if her stalker has found her or if the guests are really who they say they are.

A page turning mystery that had me guessing whodunit all throughout! A big cast of characters, but easy to follow along. The story is told from different perspectives, in present day and past. The author does a great job giving backstories to each and connecting everything in the end.

An art retreat at a beautiful house on the banks of Lake Kendalmere. Polly, arrives, not just for the retreat but to find out more about her mother who she believes had links to the house years ago. She's had a traumatic year so far as her and her flatmate have been targeted by a stalker.
Lakeside House has a sordid past though, years ago Esme and Stephen Framptom were suspected of a murder suicide although their bodies were not found.
As the retreat continues, Polly suspects the stalker has followed her to the lakes when suspicious events happen. This novel gives locked room vibes as fellow retreatists are stuck in the house due to bad weather conditions
Amanda Brittany is an automatic read for me, her books are on the creepy, tense side. As with all her books this novel sends the reader into tailspins as there are plenty of red herrings to confuse you.
I will post this review on Goodreads, Bookmory and Storygraph now and Amazon on day of publication

A fun read.
When Polly signs up to an art retreat in the Lake District, it's an escape from the stress of recent months, when a stalker preyed on her and her friend.
It's also an opportunity to find out more about her family history: Polly believes her biological mother once lived here, at Lakeside House. But things quickly turn sinister. The previous owners supposedly took their own lives here, years before – and the glamorous new owners are now receiving disturbing threats. Someone is sabotaging Polly's artwork. The five other guests on the retreat all seem to be hiding something. Then one of them goes missing. Is someone trying to scare Polly? Do the creepy goings-on have anything to do with the family she never knew? Or has the stalker followed her to Lakeside House, and is now hiding in plain sight?
I enjoyed this one. Ignore the slow pacing in a few sequences.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me an advance copy.

Polly decides to attend an art retreat at a remote location in the Lake District for two reasons. Firstly, to rest and recharge from the terrible experience that she and her friend have recently been through with a stalker. And secondly, because she believes it may give her answers about her mother's past.

What she finds there is rather less straightforward. Lakeside House has a disturbing past and a troubled present...

The new owners are being threatened, the strangers at the retreat all seem complicated and secretive, Polly's artwork is damaged, and when one of their group disappears, things worsen to another level together.

So who is responsible? Has her stalker returned? Or is it someone else, with different motives - ones that have nothing to do with Polly? Perhaps the destruction of the art is simply collateral damage. She's about to find out...

This is a twisty, fast-paced story that keeps the reader guessing. Worth checking out, it gets 3.5 stars.
