I've read this on Webtoon so I was excited to see that a physical book is coming out. The only reason why I gave it four stars is because I expected there to be more in the first volume. While it has been a while since I've read a physical comic book, it just seemed like not a lot happened. Maybe it's because I know how the rest of the story goes?
But overall, I loved reading it again.
Really enjoyed this fun look at a nanny who is skilled at everything!
The art was great and well designed, while the plot and dialogue was funny and interesting. The creator was able to blend both so neither outpowered the other.
I like the plot of the single father who needs a nanny to protect his son from being kidnapped by competitors in the mafia space and watching that young boy having to act too old for his age. Finally, when he's able to be a kid with a nanny, he struggles to allow himself some quiet and his nanny isn't normal enough for him.
We have three very intelligent main characters that draw the reader in and I feel like the complex situation of her background vs who the family is adds to the slight melancholy feel in the background of the story. Why do I have a feeling this series isn't going to have a happily ever after? I don't know, but it's meant I'm going to keep reading!
I really liked the concept of this graphic novel. The fact that you can hire a nanny who is trained in combat fighting, cybersecurity and other unusual skills to look after kids who are in the mafia is interesting. The artwork is also great and I am interested in seeing where this series goes.
Did I request this even though I've read it already via the Webtoon app? Absolutely, because I love this comic!
This volume is only the first 12 episodes but it does such a great job of pulling you into the story. The foundations of this series are great, and the characters are all layered and interesting. There's a fantastic balance between drama and comedy, with the author always able to add moments of levity to break up the darker plot points. I'm not even a mafia romance fan, but this one has me completely enthralled to the point where I read 50 episodes in a day. The slow burn is deliciously slow burning, but the rest of the plot also has me engrossed. I'm at the point where I just really need my friends to read it so I have someone to talk to about it.
Oh, and if Mikey isn't your favorite character, you're wrong. Try again.
Thank you to Wattpad, Webtoon, and Netgalley for the ARC!
I need the rest of this series as soon as possible. I was laughing from the very start. Mikey is hysterical and I love his big personality. The art style is very beautiful and lends itself so nicely to the storytelling. I am so excited to continue these stories.
I kept seeing ads for The Mafia Nanny (Vol. 1) everywhere, so I finally gave in—and I’m so glad I did! The story follows Davina, a smart and resourceful nanny, who takes a job caring for Mikey, the cheeky son of brooding mafia boss Gabrielle Angelini. Between the sizzling tension with Gabrielle and Mikey’s mischievous antics, this book had me hooked from start to finish.
The illustrations were a standout—they’re hilarious and added so much personality to the story. Whether it’s Davina’s awkward moments or the chaos of adjusting to Gabrielle’s intense world, the art made everything even more entertaining.
I loved the dynamic between the characters. Davina’s strength and wit make her an incredible lead, Gabrielle brings just the right mix of danger and vulnerability, and Mikey adds humor and heart to the story. It’s the perfect mix of romance, action, and laughs.
A huge thanks to @wattpadbooks and @netgalley for the ARC! If you’re into mafia romances with high stakes, sharp humor, and characters you’ll fall in love with, The Mafia Nanny is definitely worth picking up. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Davina, Gabrielle, and Mikey!

I enjoyed this read and I have to say this was an amazing start to a series.
I can't wait to continue
The Mafia Nanny seemed like such a wackadoodle premise that I couldn’t help but be intrigued. Davina is not only a professional nanny, she’s also trained in hand-to-hand and weaponry. She was determined to protect her client’s children no matter the cost. She was handpicked for her first case out of the academy by mafia underboss, Gabriel Angelini. I liked the art design and the wardrobe in this comic despite the nutty plot. It absolutely tickled me that the father loved to relax by the pool in a speedo. Who am I to deny the swimwear proclivities of Italians? The biggest issue I had was the son was supposed to be four years old but he acted twice his age with a vocabulary to match. It was highly unrealistic and he still would have needed a nanny as a third grader. Perhaps it was to show his vulnerability and need for his father? I liked the light flirtation between the underboss and the nanny, but I was disappointed there was no liplocking by the end of this first volume. Perhaps we’ll get one in the next collection, although I'm not sticking around to find out. This was a cute comic yet it wasn’t engaging enough to keep me interested. I’m willing to try webtoons comics in the future and hopefully they can hook me more than the Mafia Nanny.
I was hooked right from the start! The storyline is fast-paced and full of action, charm, and mystery, making it hard to put down. The artwork is stunning, and the characters are intriguing, especially Mikey—his tiny suits are absolutely adorable! If you enjoyed Spy X Family, this one is definitely worth checking out.
The Mafia Nanny follows Davina, an elite nanny fresh out of the Elite Nanny Academy. Her first assignment is to protect the young son of Gabriel Angelini, the underboss of the Venetian mafia. But what Gabriel doesn’t know is that Davina has her own hidden connections to the criminal world. The mix of secrets, humor, and action had me on the edge of my seat, and now I need volume two to hurry up!
5 ⭐️
Always saw this on socials and wanted to read it. Now that I have, I regret not reading it sooner!!
This was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful art style, great story so far and hilarious at times.
It’s different from all the other webtoons I’ve read before, and this was such a refresh on them. I need to know what happens next too!!
Thank you NetGalley and Wattpad Webtoon Book Group for allowing me to read the ARC in exchange for a review :)
Hope to see more of this author and story.
I was hooked at the start with this.
I tore through this volume so fast I didnt even realize I was reading. Now i need volume two to hurry up!
The banter between the characters is fantastic. Without giving to much away , you can tell both the FMC and MMC ( the dad ) are holding back on their true motives. The FMC however may not be coming out with her secrets but she truly does want to do her best to protect the kiddo, who by the way is written fantastically. She knows just the way to get him to come out of his shell and show us who he really is and how he's really feeling.
The banter got me hooked but, the story is developing, and you can see layers to all the characters that haven't quite been revealed yet.
I have tons of questions I cant wait to be answered. Why did he move away from Venice? Was his wife really murdered , if so why is she still thought of as missing? Who were the nannys parents , and what did they do for them to be attacked? How much did the kiddo really see from being with his dad "working" this whole time? Why is the kid the heir and not the dad ? Why did he specifically want her to be the nanny when shes just graduated ?
Thank you NetGalley and Webtoon for providing me with this ARC for an honest review.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Books for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!
This was a charming first installment to what I anticipate to be an exciting series. There is plenty of action, charm, and mystery to keep you hooked the entire time. The only thing is that I wish it was longer, since we weren't able to dive into the deep end of the plot quite yet. The artwork was beautiful, the characters were enjoyable, and overall it was a great read. I would recommend this book to any of my romance girlies/guys who enjoy an action-packed adventure!
I am so thrilled to see where the story goes. Especially with Gabriel's character I'm interested to know where his character goes. I also am excited for the possible romance.
What a fun start to a graphic novel series! I was hooked from the first page! I love the premise of the story- a young graduate from the Elite Nanny Academy gets hired by a (HOT) single dad mafioso to look after his son (who is adorable!) She is also trying to find some answers about her past, answers this family might have. Mystery and intrigue follow. I am solidly hooked now, and cannot wait for the next volume. The art style is amazing as well!
While I did enjoy the artwork and characters in this story, I found that the ending of the volume to be very abrupt. To be honest, it also didn't end with a hook that had me interested in continuing this story, I'm definitely content with what I read but I'm also content to leave it at this volume and move forward with other books.
It's been a hot minute since I read any graphic novels. I devoured them in school when it was nearly impossible to get them in Canada. I was curious to see if I still would enjoy them as much as I did in school. And the answer is yes. This is a fun and fast-paced story and a great start to a series. Everything seamlessly came together to create a really enjoyable reading experience. I think anyone who likes action stories and is looking for a new series to sink into should give The Mafia Nanny a try.
This was such a fun read and great introduction into the series. I literally devored it very quickly and went to webtoon to read more. I had been meaning to check this series out and thankful that NetGalley and Wattpadbooks for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
Davina was young when her parents were tragically and mysteriously killed. Her nanny rescued and raised her. While raising her Davina trained to become an elite nanny that can take care of children who are in high risk families. She's given her first job for a family who might have information on how her parents were murdered.
First volume focuses on an introduction to the story and is a combination of a few of the first few episodes of the comic. It has action and humor. The art is very well done and I could easily see this being translated into a anime of some sorts. If you enjoy Spy Family, you'll enjoy this.
The Mafia Nanny follows Davina, an elite nanny who's equipped with special skills. Her first assignment out of the Elite Nanny Academy is to protect the young son of the Venetian mafia underboss, Gabriel Angelini. What her new employer doesn't know is that Davina herself has some past connections to the mafia.
OMG. This is my absolute favourite ongoing webtoon. I'm obsessed with it!! I'm so glad that it's getting published in print 😍 This volume covers episodes 1 to 12, and you're going to be so hooked to this story that you'll head to the webtoon app to immediately continue reading. Let me warn you though: it is absolute torture waiting for a new episode every week 😂 But ohhh the wait is always worth it.
This webtoon perfectly balances fun and dark. We get to have a lot of fun through Mikey and Davina. We also get to explore the dark world of organized crime through Gabriel. You will absolutely fall in love with Davina, Mikey, and Gabriel. Mikey is the cutest little boy in his tiny suits; he is such a scene stealer. And get ready for the slow burn romance because the tension between Davina and Gabriel will make you sweat 😮💨
I've been looking for a romance novel similar to this webtoon, but all of my efforts have been in vain 😂 This story is too unique. If you're a romance reader, then The Mafia Nanny is a must-read!!
Absolutely charming—subverts a few tropes that could use subverting more often! Doesn’t hurt that everyone is hot and competent. (Or that the adorable Mikey makes for the perfect beating heart of the story.) 5/5 stars—I can’t wait to get my hands on the physical copy !
I can’t say no to a hot mafia dilf. This is the perfect blend of action, humor and spicy tension. the characters are instantly like-able and the art is wonderful!
