This was the first book, I have read by Sara Adrien, but it will not be the last.
"The Lyon's Golden Touch" is an amusing read set in the Regency era. On a mission to marry a Duke, everything changes for Lady Lexi, when she falls for her dentist. But which will win out? The heart or the mind? And what if the dentist is more than meets the eye...
Well written and well worth reading.

Will She Marry a Dentist or a Duke?

Lexi’s sister caused a scandal, and in desperation, Lexi sought the help of Mrs. Dove-Lyon to find her a match. She went to the Lyon’s Den with unbearable toothache, and Mrs. Dove-Lyon insisted she must see a dentist. What would follow was quite a bit of drama from Lexi who was worried that no one would want to kiss her with an imperfect mouth. Could Dustin ease her fears?

Falling in love with your dentist was surely unacceptable, so Lexi must marry the duke sent to her by Mrs. Dove-Lyon. Except, nothing and no one were who they seemed, and she instantly disliked Mrs. Dove-Lyon's duke.

A secret identity, a sprinkling of humor, and a visit to 19th century dentistry make this an entertaining read. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to those who like historical romance.

Perfection, attraction, obsession. Predicable with an unpredictable twist. Lady Alexis has been heavily influenced by her over-bearing, title hungry, perfection seeking parents. Older sister is a widow that has attracted Prinny's attention and when she becomes his latest Mistress it becomes imperative that Lady Lexi marry well, and immediately. She seeks out Bessie Dove-Lyon to find her a titled husband, quickly. A trip to the dentist changes everyone's lives.

Lexi is an annoying female lead in pursuit of perfection, because she was raised to believe it was what she deserved. .Dustin Fitzwater, Duke of Duncan in hiding, turned dentist wants to save the world one cavity at a time. This was hard to read sometimes and a little repetitive. The storyline is was a good concept but it got lost in the details.

John, Melissa and Herbert will get their own Lyon's Den story. I'll have to read because I have to know how Prinny's former mistress gets her HEA.

Provided the ARC through NetGalley, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved the next instalment of the Lyon's Den! It gave me everything I am looking for in a historical romance book. The tension between the MMCs was incredible and the confrontation scene was hilarious. I did also enjoy all the facts about dental care in Regency Era England and found it quite informative.

First time author read for me. It was on I DNF do to the theme of the book. It did not interest me, although others may enjoy the topic. ARC NETGalley.

Thank you NetGalley. There seems to be some confusion to who is the Duke of Duncan. Two cousins hold that title, Dustin who is known by his name and works as a dentist and John who is trying to live as the duke and take care of the village and tenants. Lexi is the daughter of an earl and goes to see Mrs. Dove-Lyon but is suffering from a toothache. She sends Lexi to see a dentist. Lexi reads romance novels. As soon as she see Dustin he reminds her of a character in the book she is reading and he becomes her prince-dentist. But can they have a life together or will he sail away to America?

Good book. I have enjoyed the author's other Lyon's Den books with their medical settings. It is a nice change from other Regency romance balls and house parties. This is the first time I have read one with a dentist as the hero, and I found it very interesting.

Dustin is a duke in hiding. Rather than take up his duties as duke, he lives under an assumed name and works as a dentist while trying to find the man who betrayed his father. He intends to leave for America and cede the dukedom to his cousin. I liked Dustin. Besides being too focused on revenge, he is kind, compassionate, and professional. I love that he cares for everyone, rich or poor. It bothered me that he was so willing to leave his heritage behind to pursue revenge.

Lexi is in a hurry to marry. Thanks to her sister's liaison with Prinny, Lexi is also tainted by scandal. This doesn't sit well with her obsession with being perfect. She asks Mrs. Dove-Lyon to find her a titled husband as quickly as possible. Mrs. Dove-Lyon, realizing that Lexi is suffering from a bad toothache, sends her to the dentist before she will arrange anything. I had a hard time liking Lexi. Her naiveté isn't unexpected, but she is self-centered, paranoid, and judgmental. She epitomized the worst stereotype of a romance reader with her obsession with one of the books she read.

When Lexi arrives at Dustin's office, she is terrified of what will happen. She's heard plenty of horror stories about pulled teeth, and none fit her self-perceived perfection. Instead of sitting and waiting for the dentist, she starts poking around the room and handling the instruments as though she has the right. She and Dustin are gobsmacked by the other's good looks, distracting them from the matter at hand for a little while. I liked Dustin's patience with Lexi's fears. Once she gets past her fear, Lexi's curiosity kicks in. I enjoyed Dustin's explanations and Lexi's interest.

Over the next few days, Dustin and Lexi grow closer. There's an amusing scene where Lexi and the nurse, Wendy, extoll the virtues of their favorite book characters while Dustin listens with amazement. I thought it was sweet how he read some of the book to see what was so special to Lexi.

Complicating matters, Mrs. Dove-Lyon has found a duke for Lexi. The dinner with him is awkward at best, as all Lexi can think about is Dustin. An unexpected twist throws a wrench into Dustin's plans, while his growing feelings for Lexi cause him to reevaluate his priorities. Lexi also discovers something about herself and what is important. It takes Mrs. Dove-Lyon to unravel the issues keeping Dustin and Lexi apart. The resolution didn't surprise me, but I look forward to reading the cousin's story.

Oh my! I never thought I could find toothache or treatment at the dentist romantic, but the author has convinced me!;-))
The ingredients for this sweet story are lots of fanciful fantasy, a romantic young lady who is trying to escape scandal with marriage and perfectionism, a handsome duke who would rather be a dentist and get revenge on the man who betrayed his late father and caused his financial ruin, instant chemistry, a steamy love scene and of course the help of the Black Widow of Whitehall!

I liked Dustin's character from the start. He is charismatic, professional, compassionate and helpful, regardless of social status or wealth. Lexi's character was difficult to digest at first. Although I found her romantic streak and naivety sweet, her arrogance and obsession with perfection was rather exhausting. Her character certainly developed the most over the course of the story.

I really love the author‘s narrative, her imagery and her meticulous research on a topic that make her books so fascinating. Overall, an interesting and entertaining story that I am happy to recommend!

This is now my favorite out of all the Lyon's Den Connected World Series. The characters were absolutely charming and delightful. This was a complicated and humorous love story. It had excitement, drama, humor, wit, and mystery that kept me entertained with laughter, intrigue, and its very interesting story that kept me guessing with what would happen next. I extremely enjoyed this fairytale like love story that includes a surprise romance and a beautiful happily ever after. I highly recommend reading!

A missing duke is committed to his practice as a dentist, but also seeks revenge. A young lady needs a husband and pays Mrs. Dove-Lyon from her own money. She sees herself as a princess in a book and wants a titled husband, but first Mrs. Dove-Lyon insists she see a dentist for a tooth ache. Two dukes are in Mrs. Dove-Lyon's den. Which one will be the real duke and marry the princess? What a dilemma!
Mild descriptive sex.

I came to the end of this novel with more questions than answers regarding medical practices in the Regency era. I was also a bit confused by Dustin's subterfuge and Lexi's obsession with perfection. Nevertheless, the romance comes to a sweet conclusion and all is well that ends well. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

She's a deb....he's a dentist...

Ok, this has got to be the first historical I've read where the duke's profession is...Dentist?!?
Yes. Dentist. It was brutal back then. But props for making Dustin, a duke in hiding, have the little utilized profession of dentistry.

Lexi must marry, stat, so she turns to Mrs. Dove-Lyon for a quick fix.
But she's interested in a dentist?
Recommend.

Dustin Fitzwater, Duke of Duncan, has concealed his true identity. Haunted by his father's scandal, he seeks solace and anonymity as a skilled dentist, he plans to raise money for his travel to America by being a locum for his friend Felix. But his meticulously constructed world unravels when he encounters the enchanting debutante, Lady Alexis Wentworth. Lexi must marry quickly to save her reputation from her sister's scandal, so she visits Mrs. Dove-Lyon but Lexi has tooth ache so she is sent to Felix’s practice.
An interesting book, I don’t think I’ve ever read a Regency book with a dentist as a main character. It was different but dwelled on the various aspects of dentistry too for my liking. I liked Dustin, Lexi not so much, she acted very much like the entitled lady, she was nosy touching Dustin’s implements & evening causing the damage to some. I enjoyed their story which I read in an afternoon

The Lyon’s Golden Touch by Sara Adrien is a mediocre addition to the Lyon‘s Den Connected World. Dustin is a dentist who is temporarily working on Harley Street substituting for Felix so he can honeymoon and earn much-needed money to finance his journey to Maryland where he had been offered a post teaching dentistry. Lexi had been to see the Black Widow to try to arrange a marriage. Her reputation has been ruined when her widowed sister became Prinny’s mistress. She had a toothache. She’d had it for weeks. Mrs. Dove-Lyon refused to arrange anything until she saw to it, even arranging for one of her minions to deliver Lexi to the dentist. Dentistry was a fairly new medical field and Lexi had heard stories. None of them good. It didn’t help that Puck (the minion) had an odd sense of humor and made it all sound horrifying. When she sat for the dentist she discovered not only that he was blindingly handsome but that he was also kind and gentle. And it turns out, a duke in disguise.

As far as I’m concerned this book focused far too much on the technical aspects of dentistry. Not interested. As the core story goes, it was good. Relatively believable and happily ever after. The characters were endearing, especially the heartache: Dustin’s over the dukedom and dentistry, and Lexi’s for being less than perfect for her parents and her prospects. In that regard it was fun.

I was invited to read The Lyon’s Golden Touch by Dragonblade. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Dragonblade #SaraAdrien #TheLyonsGoldenTouch

Perfection, Obsessive, Secrets:
Mrs. Dove-Lyon doesn't play much of a role in this short story. She does bring Lexi and Dustin into a hap-hazard complicated romance story
All of the characters were interesting, but I did have issues with Lexi. She was extremely self-centered, paranoid, and unlikeable the entire book.
Dustin was the star of the story and his professional occupation as a dentist was quite interesting. The author did a good amount of research in
presenting the tools of his trade
The charisma and passion between Dustin and Lexi fell way short for a Dove-Lyon book. I was hoping at that big finale I could raise my rating, but it fell short again.
This is a new author for me. The story could have been so much more.
👨Favorite Character: Dustin 🦷
⭐Story Rating 2.8 Rounded up to 3.

Being a Dental Hygienist, I just HAD to read this story that is wrapped around a Dentist, Dustin, who just happens to be a Duke. It was very interesting to me to read about the profession in Regency times and I was pleasantly surprised how the author was so spot on with the dental details. I found Lexi to be a bit of a nightmare at first with her perfection obsession. Watching the story unfold as it did, it was no surprise that Mrs. Dove-Lyon knew what she was doing, but was interesting how the author weaved the tale together. Your emotions will get a work out reading this and I was very enthralled with it all. It was good to revisit with some of the Jewelers family and can't wait to see John and Melissa’s story!

I received this story for free and these are my own opinions

It’s the beginning of a sweet romance that wasn’t expected when Lexi is sent to the dentist. The dentist is more than he appears to be and secrets are eventually exposed. I loved Lexi and her innocent, inquisitive mind adds bits of humor to the story. I would have liked more presence of Mrs. Dove-Lyon in the story. It’s a well written story that is worth reading and one I enjoyed.
