I am no longer interested in YA titles unfortunately. I tried to give this one a go but couldn't get into it! Those who love YA and lots of twisty suspense might enjoy.
The prologue immediately grabs with the promise that not everyone will have a happily ever after. It piques curiosity and invites readers to step back in time in Imogen’s life to the events that set things in motion. It sets the stage for an eerie and suspense-filled tale.
A paranormal Downton Abbey-esque novel? Sign me up! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the sense that the mystery would all become clear...but for most of the book it was like peering through a delicious fog as I raced to finish the book. Very well done and recommended!
Imogen Rockford is not at all prepared to be the next Duchess of Wickersham, nor is she at ease in the grand estate that was the site of her parents' death, but she is determined to do her duty. Back at Rockford, Imogen reconnects with her childhood crush and starts to become very suspicious about her cousin's untimely death.
Suspicion is like a mash-up of The Princess Diaries and Rebecca. It has all the charm of the suddenly-a-princess plot laced with murder, paranoia, and the paranormal. Rebecca is one of my favorite classics, and I really enjoyed seeing how Alexandra Monir drew from that creepy tale. This book would be a really fun Halloween pick.
I didn't get this book. I found it weird and it had some plot holes that I couldn't get over. However our teens seem to like it so it may be an age thing on my part.
I just coulnd’t get into this book. It wasn’t for me. I appreicate the chance to read this one, but since I didn’t finsih it, I won’t be rating or reviewing. Thank you.
Can't remember really much at all of what this book was about because I read it so long ago but from my updates I can tell that I did not enjoy the overly dramatic romance that was all consuming and took precedence over the plot. I also expressed displeasure at the ending.
This was a great thriller. It kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. By the end I thought I had it all figured out, but boy was I wrong! The ending was a total surprise to me!
I am sorry. I could not get this book to download on my phone. I apologize for the inconvenience.
