CD Reiss has hit it out of the park again. Spin is vivid, fast paced, and an absolute joy to read. The opening book of Theresa Drazen' s saga, it is a tremendous stand alone spin off of her Songs of Submission. Once again, she gives us a compelling, complex heroine to love, and a stunningly beautiful, brutal man to seduce us all. Set against the backdrop of a contentious election and a brewing mob war in a gritty modern LA, trouble finds Theresa Drazen. Her orderly life is in shambles and her heart tattered, thanks to infidelity and a broken engagement. She's desperately trying to keep it together and maintain her cool, controlled facade. But mob capo Antonio "Spin" Spinelli crosses her path and all bets are off.

Like moths to a flame, they're drawn to one another, despite the road blocks thrown up by those around them and their own preconceived notions The sex is incendiary and there's nothing sweet and gentle about their courtship. As always, the writing is lyrical and emotional, and leaves you craving more. Increase your lingerie budget because you'll need the extra panties. Brava, Ms. Reiss!!!! I look forward to your next creation.

Spin by CD Reiss
3 out of 5 Stars

Antonio Spinelli, Spin, is a hard, sexy, intense, threatening man that makes Theresa's blah world finally come alive. His mafia connections and animalistic sexuality make him completely opposite of everything she's set her life up to be. Cheated on by her DA fiance, while fast tracking at her accounting job is the perfect life for an heiress of LA notoriety. But the heat and vitality she feels when with Spin keep her coming back for more, that and his claim that she belongs to him.

Overall I thought the plot was interesting and flowed nicely, however I didn't like the constant need for the sex to be violent and hurtful. But that's a personal thing....others might enjoy that more. I don't believe I will continue with the series.
