I truly enjoyed this book. It made me laugh, it made my eyes roll, and it had me wondering the whole time who the culprit was.
When 10-year-old Alfie disappeared from a school field trip, single mom, Florence, decided to investigate herself. She was afraid her son would be blamed as there had been issues in the past between the two boys, so it was her duty to find out the truth. What ensues is chaos and confusion. Florence tends to be an unlikeable person and rarely does anything right. But her antics bring this story alive.
This book is very entertaining. You may not like Florence, but I found her quite captivating. Funny, engaging and a great whodunnit. Thank you, NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the eARC.

"All the Other Mothers Hate Me" was fun right from the start.
A main character you can relate too in some ways, but hate in others, and you can not help but still routing for her!
Quick fun read, with memorable characters.

Alfie Risby goes missing on a class trip and Florence Grimes’ son is the last known person to see him. Everyone is trying to figure out what happened to Alfie, while pointing fingers at Florence’s son, Dylan. But as a single mother, Dylan is the only thing she has to live for and she has to do something to protect her son’s innocence.
As a mother, I am team “do anything for my kids”, but I found myself siding with the other mothers quite often due to Florence’s immaturity and lack of accountability. Truthfully, her personality really sold the story and made it interesting (and infuriating) but made me want to keep reading! Once I reach about 80% through I could not put it down.

It took me a little while to get into this book, but eventually I read it all in one sitting! The main character is SO hard to like, it definitely made it difficult at time. But I enjoyed the fast paced mystery aspect of it. I would read another book by this author again! :)

Well, I can certainly understand why the other mothers hate Florence. She’s not exactly a good person. Or a good mother, for that matter.
I don’t really know what to say about this book. At first I found it fun and engaging, but it quickly went off the rails with outlandish plot twists and a ridiculously cartoonish villain. There came a point where I could no longer suspend my disbelief and just wanted it to end.

Such a hoot! I kept picturing who I wanted to play these characters when they make a movie of it (definitely should be a movie). Florence’s parenting skills leave a lot to be desired but she’s young and learning as she goes along her way. I could relate to the whole friends struggle and how hard it is to trust someone new. Fun story!

I loved the narrative voice of this book--Florence felt like she appeared to the world like an absolute dumpster fire, but her interiority totally saved the day. The balance was a fine line, and I felt like Sarah Harman did an excellent job of revealing to us why and how Florence was who she was. I also enjoyed the zaniness of the investigation, with Florence jumping to conclusions that the reader knows are not going to be good for her--or anyone else! Though I felt there were a few too many gaps and withholding of information for this to be my favorite book, I know many readers who will love it more than I did, and I'm sure I can get it into safe hands.

Ten year old Alfie Risby is missing and Florence Grimes isn’t exactly worried sick about it. After all, Alfie is a bully and has given her son, Dylan, nothing but a hard time. The only problem … Dylan was partnered with him on the field trip and the last one to see him alive. Dylan now has Alfie’s backpack tucked under his bed and isn’t talking. Is there a chance Dylan had something to do with his disappearance. Florence will stop at nothing to save Dylan … and I mean nothing. With no apparent detective skills, she’s willing to rewrite the story. When she pairs up with another new mom, at the elite school the boys attend, she finds herself out of her league, but even that won’t stop her. Soon her inklings sound ridiculous and even her new found friend doesn’t believe her. Will she be able to save Dylan before it’s too late…and just where is Alfie Risby? This was an entertaining read from start to finish and Florence’s antics had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. Would love to see her tackle another case in the future!! Thank you to Penguin and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

It's definitely easy to see why all the mother's hate Florence. Florence grew on me throughout the book. She's a single mom who thinks her son murdered his classmate. Florence sets out to clear her son's name, although she always doesn't make the best decisions in doing so. Solid debut book for Harman, It kept me guessing and it was a quick read. I even found myself laughing out loud at poor Florence. 3 solid stars!
Thanks to G.P. Putnam's Sons & NetGalley for the ARC!

My first take away of "All the mothers hate me" is that Florence, the female lead, is a certifiable hot mess. And yes, all of the other mothers do hate her. For one, she is a former American musician in a small British town that likes to party. Plus, she lacks social skills which almost feels intentional. While it is obvious she doesn't exactly mesh with the other moms she loves her son no less than the "posh" moms that clashes with daily. So,even before a child goes missing Florence and her son Dylan are seen as outsiders and slightly suspicious. When Alfie, a pretencious bully of a ten year old does not return from a field trip- one where he and Dylan are paired - Flo does everything in her power to lead investigators away from focusing on Dylan as a potential suspect which mainly involes solving this mystery herself. She stumbles upon another mom,Jenny, who also finds herself with liitle intrest in sucking up to the mom pool at school. Fortunately, Jenny is a lawyer with a LOT more common sense and social graces that help keep Flo from spiraling out of control......for a little while. The two eventually have a falling out, resulting in a return to poor decision making on Flo's part which lead to surprising results.
Flo and her conversations with her buddy Jenny are some of my favorite in the book.It would be fun to see them become a crime fighting duo :)
There are plenty of red herrings and twists throughout the book making it hard to read to put down.
Admittedly, Florence is not a likeable charachter making it hard to sympathize with her. Problems she faces are mostly self inflicted. However, Flo does step up when needed and feircly fights to keep her son unharmed.
The title grabbed my attention and I am happy that I took the chance . 3 1/2 stars thta I'll round up.
Thanks to Netgalley and G.P. Putnam's Sons for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I really enjoyed All The Other Mothers Hate Me. Such a great main character - so unlikable, but you are rooting for her anyway. Unique voice and a refreshing thriller. Excited to see other works by this author!

This was a trip unlike any other. There is no other way to describe this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin for the ARC.

All the Other Mothers Hate Me is a fun, fast read, with an interesting twist on a well-worn premise. Florence is the typical unreliable narrator that you love to hate - she's selfish and self-absorbed and narcissistic, but she does truly love her son, which really does a lot to redeem her. This book isn't really ground-breaking in any way, but it does manage to create interesting, memorable characters in a quick, light read. Overall, it was very enjoyable and definitely what I was looking for in a thriller/suspense.

This is where HYPE meets quality. A fun, voice debut that gives Finlay vibes. The main character is a relatable imperfect mom 👩 loved the Mariah Carey references!

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for providing this book, with my honest review below.
All the Other Mothers Hate Me is a witty story that has a little edge of heartbreak and a lot of sharp humor. While I’m not like her (I hope), I was drawn to Florence, an ex girl bander with a son she is supporting on balloon arch money, barely tolerating the rich mothers at his private school (who barely tolerate her in turn) who seems to be firmly stuck in her early 20’s. Florence was a complex character who is utterly selfish and destructive (or to quote her friend Jenny ‘a chaos muppet’) but deeply loves her son and does want to do better…. Eventually.
The plot around the missing boy kept things moving, people growing, etc. But really this book is about Florence and her messy life. It wasn’t always as fun as I wish it was but I guess life isn’t either, and ultimately I was cheering for Florence and couldn’t stop thinking of this.

This is a good book! a lot of reviews called out the "unlikeable narrator/main character" but I loved her! She was genuine and real, and well written! I loved seeing how she dealt with all the negativity and ignorance from the other moms. Over all I loved the mystery and the twiats that come in this book!
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complementary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

3.5 stars
This was a fun little mystery. I love an unlikable mc, and Florence was perfect for this role.
It had some dark humor, and an overall good mystery. I definitely enjoyed it.

Florence Grimes is a single mom who used to be the lead singer in a girl band. Now she scrapes together an income with part-time jobs while her ten-year-old son, Dylan attends the posh private school his dad funds. Florence doesn’t fit in with the other moms who feel she is too garish and poor for their cliques. Now Alfie, son of the richest of the rich and Dylan’s nemesis, has vanished from a field trip. Everyone is outraged and Florence fears Dylan may have something to do with the disappearance. She teams up with Jenny, another parent, to solve the mystery. Their antics are reminiscent of Finlay Donovan except they are solving a crime not committing one. I thoroughly enjoyed this. There was one storyline that I didn’t feel was clearly resolved but overall the twists were surprising and believable. I thank the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I'll preface this by saying I don't read a ton of mysteries compared to other genres so there has to be a hook which makes them interesting to me for me to request one, and in this case it was the protagonist and the humor--who doesn't love a funny washed-up former pop star? I enjoyed the similar concept of Meg Cabot's Heather Wells mysteries (think Britney's parents and manager spent all her money but instead of getting married and having kids and ending up in a conservatorship, she becomes an RA at NYU and has to solve crimes), and I likewise enjoyed it here with the transplanted American heroine having to deal with single parenthood and the other posh parents at her son's exclusive London school. Both the setting and Florence being a flawed but entertaining narrator gave this a fun Girls5Eva meets Bridget Jones vibe and made it a quick and diverting late-summer vacation read.

I think I’m going to be an outlier on this one. I’m with the moms. And I’m not a mom.
Florence Grimes is a thirty-one year old former girl band member who had an embarrassing downfall and now she’s single and broke. Her reason for going on is her ten year old son, Dylan.
Dylan goes on a class trip and rich boy Alfie Risby, who bullies Dylan vanishes. Suddenly Dylan is the prime suspect and Florence has a purpose: to find Alfie to clear Dylan’s name. Of course, she has never skills and no idea how one man got go about doing that. Oh, and all the moms at the school hate her (for good reason.). And maybe Dylan is not so innocent. Maybe.
I thought I was really going to like this book, as it was witty (“her awful triplets - Trip and Teddy and, I dunno, Tryhard”) and seemed fun, but the longer it went on the more Florence grated on me. She’s a thief. Her mothering skills are….um…well, she loves him, I guess, but…. She does many abhorrent things to the point it just wasn’t fun for me to read about any more. I think a lot of people loved it and found it all funny. It just fell flat for me. I liked her friend, though, 2 stars.
