A great read for the holiday season. very heartwarming. Loved the family aspect. Riley was stronger than she thought. Loved her reconnecting with Aiden and seeing their romance bloom.

The Christmas Inn by Pamela M. Kelley is a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form and I absolutely loved it! I think going in with those expectations really set the tone for me, and it was exactly what I was hoping it would be. There is humor, second chance romance, Christmas cheer, single dad, and delicious food all wrapped up into this emotional story. I loved having the three viewpoints between Riley, her mom, and Franny and really enjoyed each storyline. This was the perfect read for wintertime, the holidays, or just any time you want to read a cozy hug in a book.

I listened to the audiobook, and it made this short read speed by even faster. I loved Stephanie Németh-Parker as the narrator, but I do wish she had been the narrator for only Riley with at least one other narrator for the older women. She didn’t try to change her voice at all, and I do think that was detrimental here. She sounded more Riley’s age than anyone else’s and it left me wanting more from the audio itself. The food in this book made me hungry and I loved the Cape Code setting in the cute inn. The writing is straightforward while still having heart, so I would keep that mind along with this being completely closed door and sweet.

Read this if you are looking for a light holiday read, love Hallmark movies, and enjoy multiple viewpoints each with their own romance.

Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio and the author for an audio ARC of this book. Pamela M. Kelley has written another warm and uplifting holiday read. Riley, a young content marketing manager in NYC, unexpectedly loses her job right before Christmas. She heads home to Cape Cod to regroup and help her mother (who is recovering from a broken leg) run her charming inn. Being back home does wonders for Riley’s spirits by giving her a sense of family once again and a second chance romance. The main and secondary characters are relatable, multidimensional and grow throughout the story. The narrator has a pleasant voice, the narration flows smoothly and is well paced. Long time readers of the author will enjoy this book as will fans of Debbie Macomber, Nancy Thayer and Rachel Hanna. Hallmark Christmas movie fans will want to add this to their holiday TBR list as well. Definitely a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season!

Title: The Christmas Inn
Author: Pamela Kelley

Publisher: Macmillan Audio
Length: Approximately 8 hours and 41 minutes

What type of books are your cozy reads? Christmas books are some of my coziest reads.

Riley Sanders loses her job right before Christmas when her job is made redundant by AI. Her mother has recently broken her leg and needs help at the Inn she owns, so Riley returns to the Inn to help. She meets and gets to know a variety of guests that are all going through issues of their own. Will there be a merry Christmas for everyone? Her ex-boyfriend Aiden and his son are also staying at the Inn. Seeing Aiden makes her think about her relationship with her current boyfriend Jack. He is a workaholic and does not have much time for her or their relationship. Will Aiden and Riley find romance?

My thoughts on this novel:
• This was a very enjoyable Christmas audiobook and enjoyable read. Stephanie Németh-Parker was a great narrator. There are multiple point of views and narrators in the story. It did take me a bit at times to remember where I was in the story and with who when I would start it up again.
• Riley and Aiden were the main characters, but the other characters were also well developed and had interesting storylines.
• I liked that there were people all different age groups involved in the story.
• I also liked the sub story of how Riley helped her mother with marketing to try to save the Inn.
• Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes and I loved it in this novel.
• This is a clean and cozy read.

Overall, The Christmas Inn by Pamela Kelley is a sweet contemporary romance that is perfect for lover of Christmas Hallmark movies.

When Riley loses her job before Christmas, she finds herself going home to Cape Cod to help her mother run the inn. This heartwarming, feel good story is perfect to relax with in front of a cozy fire with your favorite beverage. This is my first experience with a book by Pamela M Kelley and I wasn't disappointed. I found myself engaged and eager to see how the story unfolds. From Franny, a woman who recently lost her sister, to Riley's old flame, Aiden, I really enjoyed following the characters through the story. I liked the multiple POVs throughout the book and liked that each chapter started with who it was about.

The audiobook is narrated by Stephanie Nemeth-Parker who did a wonderful job with the various characters.
I would definitely recommend this cozy read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I thought this was a good holiday romance. The story line lended to a bit of a negative mood throughout the book, but I loved the holiday vibes and ending!

This was a cute winter story! I loved following each of the characters through their journey of growth and finding themselves. The Inn was such a welcoming place and I loved how a few staying at the Inn formed such a strong bond. Definitely a great feel good book!

Loved this story! Riley has lost her job and she comes back to the Cape to help her mom who has broken her leg and is struggling with keeping up with running the B&B. Frannie is staying at the inn after her sister passed and left her 4 letters, to be opened one a week. It gives her a chance to get to know the area she grew up in again. This was a sweet and special story full of all the feels. I highly recommend it.

Riley Sanders is a content marketing manager and right before Christmas she lost her job. She called her sister to vent and learned that her Mom broke her leg. Deciding that her Mom may need her help at the inn she journeys back to the inn, amongst the shores of Cape Cod, just in time for the Christmas rush. Needing something to distract her she’s more than happy to travel back during this delightful holiday season.

When she gets all the way home, she not only finds sumptuous cookies and a crackling fire, but finds much needed sense of family. Fanny who just lost her sister has 4 unopened letters to help her experience the wonders and joys of Cape Cod. Aidan which happens to be her old high school sweetheart. He’s a widower with a 9-year old son, Luke. Staying there too. What starts out as a quick stay could it turn into a second chance romance, have a sense of family and experience all the happiness and excitement of Christmas time in the Cape?

This book is heartwarming and has unforgettable characters! You will fall in love with them! You can just picture the lights twinkling and snowflakes falling with all the guests getting together at the Christmas Inn. Love is in the air! Another unforgettable book by Pamela Kelley! You won’t want to miss this one! The narrator was very good! Clear voice that’s easy to understand and follow. Speaks at the right speed. She brought life to the characters! Great combination of author and narrator! A must listen!

This is the perfect Hallmark-y read for Christmas set in Cape Cod at a family-owned inn. Riley heads home to get her life together after she loses her job, and it's the perfect time because her mom needs help at the Inn. This is not just a story about Riley, though. All of the female characters are in a state of transition, and the Inn is the perfect place to find what's next for each of them. Pamela Kelley delivers a feel-good holiday story that is perfect for the season.

This was a fun read for the Christmas season. Light frothy holiday fun. But it didn't have anything that will stick with me.

Lots of food details, especially about specific cheese and wines. Even down to brands of wines and what it pairs well with. It got very old after a while. We don't need details of every single meal. More emotional details would have been much better.

Plus, I wish the audiobook had different voices for the different characters. The perspectives of three women of all different ages, but with the same voice was a bit bland.

Overall a fun and yet unmemorable Christmas read.

Thanks to Macmillan Audio and St. Martin's for the gifted title. All opinions are my own.

This was a good heartwarming story that involved women who were figuring out their lives and what they truly wanted after going through tough times. I enjoyed the characters, their stories and overall ending. The narrator did a wonderful job. There were just some minor things I found annoying, but nothing that ruined it for me.

Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this ALC!

The Christmas Inn by Pamela M. Kelley is what I would call your typically, traditional holiday read. This book centered around three women of different generations which was interesting, especially since they were all looking/not looking but finding love. Add in your Christmas setting with the inn mixed with a bunch of typical Christmas activity and you have this whole novel in a nutshell. I did not love this one, but I enjoyed it. I did not love all the FMC but I enjoyed most of them.

Overall, an average holiday read that did not wow me, but had me questioning why there were whole entire recipes in the novel and not at the end of the book as a fun appendix.

When Riley Sanders is laid off from her job, she travels home to Cape Cod to help at her mother’s inn. She reconnects with a former boyfriend, meets interesting inn guests, and enjoys the slower pace of life on the Cape.

I loved the Christmastime setting on Cape Cod and the narrator was great. The Christmas Inn was an easy listen and a cozy story. The dialogue of the novel soon became monotonous, though. There were more details than needed in the story.

I was also not a fan of the food phobia throughout the novel. The daily meals of the characters played too big a part in the story. Rather than cozy treats and meals woven into the story, there was so much food guilt. It was so distracting and off putting.

I also really couldn’t stand the FMC, Riley. She was so focused on the fact that her sister was a stay-at-home mother. Riley kept bringing it up so confused as to why her sister wouldn’t want to be exactly like her.

Franny’s character was lovely though. I would have loved to read more about her instead.

Thank you to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for an ALC of this title.

I really wanted to love this book. I love small town, cozy holiday reads but this one just didn’t do it for me. The characters are stereotypical (which I actually don’t mind in a cozy holiday book) but they didn’t have a lot of personality. The characters felt interchangeable and I would confuse them at times. I think having 2 narrators for the audiobook would have been helpful for the POV switches. There wasn’t much of a plot and the storyline felt forgettable. It was a sweet Christmas read but it didn’t stand out to me. Plus, there is a lot of unnecessary details about cheese

"The Christmas Inn" is a sweet story of coming home and second chances at Christmas.

Riley Sanders loses her job right before Christmas and has to do some soul searching about what her future holds. She's been seeing her long-term boyfriend, Jack, for many years now, but it's not really going anywhere. Between his crazy job schedule and her recent job loss, she decides to head home to the Cape for the holidays to get some much-needed rest and relaxation, and to regroup to figure out what to do next with her life.

It turns out, the timing couldn't be more perfect for her mother, who recently fell and broke her leg. An extra set of hands to help out at the Inn is just what she needs.

While there, Riley is reminded how special home is, even if is was a place she once thought she'd never want to return to. Running into her high school boyfriend reminds her of what it's like to feel appreciated, which is more than she can say about Jack! And as an ideal job opportunity slips through her fingers, she is reminded what community is all about.

Riley had expected to find rest and relaxation in Chatham, but what she found was people she loved, a passion for her profession, and a purpose for her life.

Thank you to Pamela Kelley, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

What a sweet book! I read this book after taking a trip to Cape Cod/Nantucket, so I was laughing at how the characteristics of these people who can afford to not only live there, but BUY and run an inn, were supposed to be middle-class folks, but that was my only hang up. I love a good multi-generational story, and throw in some romance and Christmastime, and I will eat this one up! I wish there had been a little more closure with one of the storylines, but overall I thought this was a very good read!
