I will admit that I am a Jack Ryan universe fan and this new book was great! I could have read this in a night or two if i let myself. Overall, it felt good to have Katie back in the narrative along with Clark and company doing their thing. Overall, I enjoyed this read and it was everything I expected out of a Jack Ryan book.

I genuinely admire writers who can recreate the voice of another writer, not by imitating him, but by essentially becoming him, at least for the duration of the specific book they're writing in his voice. It's a very specific talent.

This book is a pitch-perfect resurrection of Tom Clancy at his very best. Same tone, same pace, same attention to detail. If Clancy were able to read it now, I'm certain he would scratch his head trying to remember when he wrote it.

If you liked the classic Clancy, you'll absolutely love DEFENSE PROTOCOL. If you didn't like the classic Clancy, I figure there may not be a lot of hope for you.

Taiwan and it’s valuable assets like it’s chip manufacturing abilities and natural resources have spurred on the desire of the Chicoms to retake the independent island nation. President Ryan has the world perched on the edge of their collective chairs while he tries to outwit President Li and to use all the diplomatic tools at his disposal to avoid WWIII and placing his daughter at grave risk.

An action packed book. Typical Clancy with lots of technical information. I like how Jack Ryan story has progressed through the series
