This was perfection -- but I'd expect nothing less from Sesame Street. I've used this at home with my own children, as well as with my special education students. I love how accessible everything is.
Okay, you put a muppet on the front and I’m going to read it. Great fun family cookbook. You can cook with your kids or grandkids. A fun read
My daughter really loved looking at this one with me. Was adorable cook book. Recipes look easy to do. She already picked a few to try. So I'd say this a five star book.
This cookbook is cute and has lots of fun recipes that I’d make with my toddler son. I liked the “helping hand” tips that were added to the pages every so often, although admittedly some of them were a little obvious.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book!
There are so many healthy, yet tasty recipes to make in here with little tips and tricks for your kids to help out with!

I wanted to love this, since we are a house full of Sesame fans, however this cookbook fell a little flat for us. It felt like it lacked the Sesame magic when it came to discussing food and immediately felt quite preachy for a children’s cookbook (notes to ensure you’re only using low or no fat milk/cheese to make it “healthier” when that may not be what’s best for your family). Apart from that, this cookbook lacked symbols and icons to make it easy to navigate for any families with allergens or restrictions. I’d also expect to see process images in a book marketed towards young children (ie how to roll a burrito) to help the youngest chefs understand the steps to take.
Overall my kids weren’t interested in these recipes and I didn’t find them eye catching either. For me, this is a pretty mid-range cookbook with Sesame character stickers sprinkled throughout vs a true children’s cookbook.
Sesame Street does it again. What do we love as much as Sesame Street, FOOD and COOKING! We loved this book. So well put together and easy to follow , even for little ones. The photography shows us characters from Sesame Street and some yummy looking food we can’t wait to try. Each recipe is easy to follow, has a brief description, ingredients, serving size and how long to cook. The instructions are step by step and so easy to understand. The book is packed full of helpful tips along the way. It also explains different items needed to cook with, preparing meals and healthy habits.
This book is perfect for every family with little ones who love to cook, love Sesame Street or both! We even found some new family favorite recipes like Coconutty Chicken Bites, Wonder Waffles and Roll and Go Wraps. We received this as an ebook ARC but can’t wait to add this to our home collection and to gift to some friends. Your family will Love this book! Enjoy it together.
1000 stars and more
I absolutely love this! My daughter is still in her Sesame Street phase and loves to look at cookbooks, so this was the perfect fit. I love the little tips and tricks spread out through the book. Recipes are accessible for kids.
So much fun! My kids and I loved the recipes and it made healthy snacks easy!
The recipes were super easy to follow and the kids loved being able to see their favorite characters.
Cute idea but the food isn’t anything my kid would eat or want to make so not for us. I wanted to like it but my kid was zero percent interested in any of it and I agree.
Sesame Street’s Let Cook Together cookbook is full of a wide variety of healthy recipes for kids. I haven’t made anything from this cookbook yet, but I can definitely see myself using some of these recipes on my kids. Some of these recipes are better for non-picky kids, but there is also a good array of recipes for even the pickiest eaters. I like how this cookbook was laid out and enjoyed the pictures that accompanied the recipes. I think this will be a good cookbook to test on and with my kids. I recommend this book to anyone with kids who is looking for some healthy recipe ideas, whether you’re a Sesame Street fan or not.
The dividers in this delightful book are: Get ready safely, Bright breakfasts, Super snacks, Yummy lunches, Delicious dinners, Healthy treats, glossary, Cooking together. Simple precautions throughout demonstrated by our favorite characters along with some great recipes. Perfect to prop up in the kitchen and cook with kidz.
Ideal for reading alone or WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting, but especially to a school, or your public library!
I requested and received a free temporary digital review copy on Adobe Digital Editions from DK | DK Children via NetGalley. Thank you!
#40FunHealthyRecipes
This is super cute. I love how it gets parents cooking with their children. I especially loved the focus on making and eating healthy food. ZEZven I learned some new recipes that I would eat as an adult.
The cook book has pictures of the foods, especially some really cute Sesame Street-themed ones. There are also Muppets all through helping to keep kid's attention.
Those friends we grew up with on Sesame Street will be teaching us how to eat healthy and cook healthy. They even advise us on foot safety and allergies! (The cookbook stresses that all cooking demands adult supervision.)
The lessons start right at the beginning: cracking an egg, separating yolk from white, how to use a whisk or rolling pin, making overnight oats or smoothies, and fruity ice pops to pancakes, hummus, Grouch on Toast (too cute!) to fritters, chicken kebabs, fishcakes, pizza and fried rice. Everything’s healthy, and the recipes are tempting even for adults. And, grownups, seeing Cookie Monster in a chef’s toque is worth this book on its own!
In the interest of full disclosure, I received this book from NetGalley and DK in exchange for an honest review.
A darling book!!! My boys loved this! It was adorable and just full of great recipes for kids, and the illustrations were so fun! Highly recommend
This is a cookbook for the whole family to use. The use of Sesame Street characters is such a cute idea for a cookbook.
The recipes are easy to follow. The different sections on how to use the cookbook along with making healthy choices are great.
There are five recipe sections filled with great recipes for children. I really liked the Cooking Together section. It gives the parents great tips on getting the child involved in making a recipe in the book.
This is a great book to put in your collection.
Thank you NetGalley and DK Publishing for the ARC of Sesame Street Let’s Cook Together. This is my personal review.
Thank you to Net Galley for this e- copy of Seame Street Let’s Cook together in exchange for a honest review. This book is full of visibly appealing recipes that help combine a child’s love of the same Street characters with nutritious meals, snacks and treats. Perfect for parents who struggle to find nutritious meals for their little ones to eat . Lots of colorful pages that show what the finished recipe should look like.
The cover of this book drew me right in. After all, how could a person resist Big Bird and Elmo in these food incarnations?
Kids and adults will enjoy this visit with the Sesame Street family in the kitchen. Note that children will need the help of an adult when they are ready to cook.
The book begins with a safety disclaimer that is not scary but is worth reading. There are additional introductory sections as well.
There are 40 healthy recipes in this book. They are grouped into categories titled Bright Breakfasts, Super Snacks, Yummy Lunches, Delicious Dinners and Healthy Treats. Just a few of the recipes are for Gonger’s Egg Surprise, Granola Cookie Bits, Grouch on Toast, Coconutty Chicken Bites and Mango Fro Yo-Yo. All have easy to follow directions and illustrations. I like that for each there are lists for ingredients and tools before the recipe. There are also sections called Helping Hand with extra tips.
The book concludes with a number of additional sections including a Guide for Grown Ups.
Here is a wonderful way to introduce a child to the fun and nutrition that can be found by preparing food at home. I highly recommend it.
Many thanks to NetGalley and DK-DK Children’s for this title. All opinions are my own.
This is a super cute, Sesame Street-themed cookbook for families! I loved all of the pictures of the recipes & how accessible they are for kiddos. I was really impressed with the intro section that went over easy kitchen skills. Everything was super clear and accessible. The recipes themselves are not overcomplicated and have lots of fun ties to Sesame Street.
Thanks to D.K. Publishing and NetGalley for the chance to read and review! My opinions are my own.
