The World Is Your Dumpling by Emily Roz is a delightful culinary adventure that celebrates the joy of dumplings from around the globe. With 80 gorgeous recipes, it beautifully balances classic favorites like ravioli and perogies with Asian dumplings using store-bought wrappers. Roz’s clear instructions on folding and pleating techniques make the process accessible for all skill levels, while her comprehensive guide to various cooking methods ensures that every dumpling is cooked to perfection. (I received an advance reader copy and all opinions are my own.) This book is a treasure trove of flavors and creativity, perfect for anyone looking to explore the world of little parcels filled with big flavors!
Our family is a big fan of dumplings. I was so excited to discover this cookbook. So thankful to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity. This was a positively fun cookbook. I never knew there were so many wonderful variations to the simple dumpling. There are over 80 recipes to choose from. They are so easy to follow and understand. The ingredients and directions are easy to understand. So many unexpected possibilities I never imagined. I can’t wait to try new flavors and ideas for my family. I have even found new favorites like the Air Fryer Crab Rangoon and the Shitake Alfredo Dumplings. You're in for a real treat with these delicious recipes. Enjoy.
This book is incredible! It takes you on a journey throughout the world in dumplings (or dumpling-type dishes) and it's so wonderfully executed!
If this is your kinda food (like it is mine) you are absolutely gonna LOVE this book!
Thank you so much NetGalley, William Morrow, Harvest and Emily Roz for allowing me to have an ARC of this wonderful cookbook.
DO NOT SLEEP ON THE HUMBLE DUMPLING! Emily Roz's beautifully executed 'the world is your dumpling' is filled to the brim (the edge of the wonton wrapper?) with insights, tips, tricks, and histories of the world's most versatile dish. Highly recommended for the chef in your life!
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. The author is very clear and organized on the introduction to this cookbook. She provides two different homemade dumpling shell ideas, as well as staple pantry items and cooking utensils one will need to make dumplings. The recipes themselves look delicious; I cannot wait to try them! I like how the book is broken down into difficulty and speed of making the dumplings so that if you want a quick recipe or have more time to invest you can find something you'll like!
This was a surprise to me regarding how much I enjoyed this book! The pages are colorful, fun, a visual delight! The recipes are simple to follow and I appreciate that Emily Roz gives you the green light to “cheat” by using store bought wrappers if needed. On full disclosure, I have not had the chance to create one of the dumplings yet, but I will and I look forward to it! This is my own opinion and I thank NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.
The world is your dumpling focuses on all things dumplings. Featuring different dumplings inspired by dumplings from around the world.

Each recipe has a little blurb about the dumpling dish, a little symbol to represent the dish (meat, vegetarian, vegan, etc), servings, ingredients, directions. The recipes are very neatly organized and have clear directions. Some of the recipes are accompanied by beautiful photos of the dumplings. I wish there were more pictures to follow all of the dumplings.
The beginning of the cookbook goes over how to assemble and cook the dumplings and is very comprehensive. One note is you have to use a QR code to learn about the dumpling fold which I don’t love.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Omg this books was so good, definitely need a hardcover copy as soon is out. Loved the way it explained the recipe and how easy is to follow the instructions . Really good
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of The World is Your Dumpling.
I 💗💗💗 this title and I 💗 this book!
Who doesn't love dumplings?!
I love how the author introduces us to all kinds of dumplings from all over the world, and how they're a part of culinary cuisine in so many cultures.
She puts her unique and original twist on many of these recipes, some which are too spicy for my taste.
I'm an old-fashioned dumpling lover; nothing fancy, just meat or vegs in a simple broth, but the author goes all out with exotic gravies, spices, and shapes.
I especially appreciate the dietary swaps at the back of the book. Thank YOU!
The photos are tasty, and they came through well on my Kindle. Sometimes, they don't.
As the author notes, the recipes start from simple to ones that require a little more time and patience.
The recipes aren't difficult, even for a person who doesn't cook (like me), or doesn't cook well (also me).
This is a great cookbook for any food lover, not just dumpling connoisseurs.
First off, the photos in this book are amazing and extremely enticing. I also really like the layout of this book and the brilliant use of color. There is a good intro section with helpful information about ingredients and techniques that are very helpful. I love how diverse the recipes are. At first, I was unsure of how many different dumplings there could possibly be, but I was clearly mistaken. I like the use of the air fryer in several recipes. I appreciate all of the different cultures represented, and as a dessert fan, I was happy to see that there were also dessert dumpling recipes. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.
Emily Roz’s "The World Is Your Dumpling" is a fantastic guide that celebrates the delicious world of dumplings in a fun and accessible way. I loved how the book is organized by time commitment, so you can easily pick recipes based on how much time you have. Whether you're in the mood for quick and easy dishes using ready-made dumplings or feeling up for the challenge of making wrappers and fillings from scratch, this book has you covered.
The recipes are diverse and exciting, offering something for every taste and skill level. The beautiful photos and clear instructions make cooking a joy. "The World Is Your Dumpling" is a great way to explore new flavors and techniques while enjoying the comforting goodness of dumplings. In the future, I would love to see various dietary considerations not included in the book.
