Sarah Bonner’s “How to Slay at Work” is a darkly funny and twisted thriller that takes us behind the scenes of office politics and power plays. Set in the high-stakes world of corporate intrigue, this novel explores ambition, secrets, and the lengths people will go to climb the ladder.

Plot Summary: Millie, an assistant to her demanding and enigmatic boss Freya, knows that Freya is no ordinary manager. The cryptic instructions, mind-reading expectations, and insistence on high heels hint at something more sinister. When Millie discovers a pattern of unexplained deaths in cities where Freya travels, she becomes determined to uncover the truth. Could her boss be a stone-cold killer?

As Millie investigates, she gains privileged access to Freya’s diary and travel history. The stakes rise as the body count increases. Is Freya a master manipulator or a pawn in a larger game? Millie’s journey takes unexpected twists, leading her to question her own survival.

Review: Sarah Bonner’s debut is brilliantly twisty and thoroughly entertaining. The workplace dynamics, cryptic clues, and mind games keep readers hooked. The dark humor adds an intriguing layer, making “How to Slay at Work” a page-turner.

Audience: For fans of psychological thrillers with a corporate twist, this book delivers. Prepare for unexpected revelations and a finale you won’t see coming. Bonner slays it!

Final Note: Sometimes the deadliest secrets hide behind the office door. Read this book for a delightful combination of mystery, misdirection and hilarity. 5 stars from me, I will search for similar offerings in the future from this author - she has cornered a new delightful niche market, a market in which she delivers, perfectly. 💼🔍

Especially recommend for those involved in the machinations of the corporate world, with uniquely challenging (read: frustrating) coworkers. This book caused me to repeatedly laugh out loud, yet there is a lot going on in this complex and enjoyable mystery.

Personally, I LOVED this unique book!🌹💗

Damn! This was so good. Millie works for a bitch boss, Freya. When she starts traveling with her, one night she sees Freya doing something suspicious. From there she gets anonymous messages saying to dig deeper. Millie finds something more than she was expecting. From there, we are sent on a wild ride. Secrets and murder are revealed by Millie and Freya as they tell us their story. This will keep you guessing and I loved every minute of it!
