This time travel series is unlike any other. I love the aspects of faith intertwined. The idea of living in two timelines is fascinating,

Caroline lives in both 1927 during prohibition and the Jazz age, rubbing shoulders with Charles Lindbergh and Ernest Hemingway. In her life in 1727, she runs away from a forced marriage and hides on a ship which is eventually overrun by pirates and she is forced on the pirates ship. She wants to find her mother and finds help in unexpected places.

As she tries to unravel the truth surrounding her mother, she learns more about her time shifting and realizes she is running out of time with an important decision to make.

Caroline is embroiled in mysteries in both her worlds. She finds herself keeping secrets, but she also finds love and help in unexpected places.

Gabrielle Meyer is a master of these time travel stories and has built a beautiful lore surrounding them. The stories are well written and both timelines are fully developed and both have something that would draw Caroline to stay there,

I was drawn in quickly and couldn't put this one down. I look forward to reading more of these, I hope she keeps writing them as long as they continue to tell such compelling historical stories, giving me a glimpse of what the world might have been like at that time. I highly recommend this glimpse into two very different yet similar timelines. I love the leaning into faith and the integrity of the Christian writing.

I received an early copy from the publisher and this is my honest review,

Loved it! This series is so good. The history is so fun to learn and I loved the relationship with the wonderful Scottish pirate. Sigh*

This story follows two timelines one in 1727 and the other in 1927. Each time in history deals with timely issues of the era and the author weaves these into the story creating struggles that the main character must overcome. Caroline is a time-crosser just as her mother was and her relatives before her. She works to find her mother in hopes of reconnecting and answering questions in regard to this unique ability. In 1727 we find Caroline on a ship disguised as a pirate in order to gain passage and escape her dire situation. In 1927 prohibition era, Caroline is the daughter of a preacher and has siblings with questionable actions for their time. Both scenarios have Caroline questioning her choices and wondering which time in history she should belong. The author does a nice job of interjecting God's grace into the story and Carolines actions proves love does conquer all. A feel good read for historical fiction/romance readers.

If you grew up obsessed with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise like I did, you are going to LOVE Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer! I quite literally struggled to put it down as Gabrielle Meyer weaved a tale of pirate adventure, intense emotions, hard decisions, faith struggles, and family tension. The characters struggle with very real issues with their faith, especially given the circumstances of our main female character’s life, and it was beautiful to see them realize just how close God is and how faithful and true His love is.

This entire novel moved me in ways I didn’t expect. I was particularly moved by Caroline’s parents in her 1927 St. Paul, Minnesota life. It was such a beautiful look at what a life truly sacrificed to Christ can look like. The grace, forgiveness, and love they portrayed was a beautiful portrait of Christ and left me longing for Heaven even more. At the same time, my heart ached for the characters we met along her path in 1727. I too once felt as if I was too far gone for the love of Christ - so entrapped in my sin with no other way forward than to continue the path I was on. Just like some of our characters in 1727, I was not left where I was and my life too was transformed by the powerful love of the Gospel.

The romance in this novel is so sweet. It included some of my absolute favorite tropes! I was cheering for one particular guy from the very beginning but both sides of her story were fun to read.

I was pleasantly surprised to run into a familiar face or two and was delighted to learn more about some beloved characters' stories from novels past! The way Gabrielle Meyer weaves her stories and her timelines together is so beautiful and is such a delight to read!

Thanks to the publisher’s generosity, I received a complimentary copy of this novel. All opinions expressed in this review are truly my own and a positive review was not required.

What a fantastic read! It had everything I could ask for: complex characters, a wonderful romance, vivid historical detail, adventure and intrigue, and a masterful storytelling approach that made it a real page-turner. I read it in one sitting, completely absorbed in the world the author had expertly crafted.

I really enjoyed both time periods: pirates in 1727, as well as gangsters and the prohibition era of 1927. Each era was well researched, and the changing time periods flowed seamlessly.

Across the Ages has strong faith themes throughout of redemption, mercy, and forgiveness, which I thought were beautifully done.

If you're looking for a unique and captivating time travel romance series, I highly recommend this one!

This was really enjoyable! I've read all the books in this series but the previous one. And feel like they could be read as standalones but better if you read the first one maybe? I love the different time frames we got in this plus our main character is such a sweetheart.

I, especially, love the Pirate time frame. I was really digging that vibe. I'm glad we don't get a love triangle but I still kind of rooted for a guy in one of the time frames but I still loved the other one even more. This was just a fun adventure. It started to feel a little long and drug out a bit toward the end but that may be more of a me thing. But overall, I really enjoyed it and the characters. It did have a couple "preachy-ish" moments but they're very small and still found it enjoyable/good reminders.

'No matter how hard I tried to forget, the reality of my life was still with me--or rather, the reality of my lives.'

Where oh where do I start with this book?!?!?!

If you haven't been reading this series I cannot recommend them enough. Every single one has been completely amazing and such a work of art-in storylines, characters arcs, relationships, redemption and hope.

I have loved learning about each timeline of history that every character from this series has lived in. Each one is brought to life by the author and you feel completely immersed and invested in the lives of these characters.

This particular story has one set of parents who are preachers and in her other timeline she comes from thieves. It's such a unique plot line and I loved watching Caroline navigate between both. She is good to the core and I loved getting to know her.

It's always hard to review these books because I do not want to give even the slightest bit of information away.

Read this one for the experiences, historical settings, swoon worthy romance and seeing hope in every situation.

This is a top favorite from 2024! All of the stars, two thumbs up, the highest of recommendations!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Content/Triggers/Tropes: pregnancy out of wedlock/illegitimacy, on page miscarriage, parent abandonment, double lives, mentions of speakeasies and brothels, mention of desire, romance-kisses only.

I was worried that because I haven’t read all the other books in this series that I’d be lost at first. But I had no trouble at all falling into this lovely story!

Set in two different time periods, this story is about Caroline who wakes up every other day in 1727 and alternates the other days in 1927. She has family and a life in both time periods. The question is–which one does she belong in?

Time travel romance is one of my favorite genres and I love the way Meyer built the logistics of this particular time travel. Putting myself in Caroline’s shoes–I could see how frustrating it could be to not be able to control your travel. But also, to know where you’re going to end up every day–as opposed to how other authors deal with time travel–was very intriguing.

The characters in this book were multidimensional. And I loved the actual historical references in the vein of famous faces–this was quite the treat for this history-loving reader.

This is a story with a “religious” theme to it. Faith definitely plays a part in Caroline’s journey. Personally, I can relate to that. But if that’s not something that will resonate with you, this is just a warning.

By the ending of this story, I was hoping for the outcome that we got! It felt complete and perfect! This one definitely made me want to go back and read the others in this series that I’ve missed.

In this novel we get to follow the life of Caroline and her adventures in 1727 and 1927. I just love these novels and with each one you get more and more vested into this family of time travelers. Caroline has decided she cannot take it with her grandfather anymore, and after finding a hidden letter from her mother she decides to find her way to Nassau to find her. Caroline in 1927 has a preacher father and lives by strict code to keep their family image in tact. However as with all families, there are many secrets and if any of those get out, it could be devastating. When she gets to Nassau in 1727 she is disappointed in what she finds out about her mother and isn't sure what to do with her life, although she finds that the answers she needs now might lie back in 1927. Back in the life where image is everything and she will only find her answers in the underground of illegal activity and just hopes no one recognizes her. Will she find the answers she needs to understand her life as a time crosser? With her looming birthday what will happen? This novel was so good! I loved all the history all the sea adventure and Caroline's story. I am excited to see who the next novel is about. Thank you to to the author for allowing me to be a part of the launch team and for the complementary novel. This review is of my own opinion and accord.

I absolutely love this series and Gabrielle Meyer nailed it again. These timeless romances are just so good. I always think I know what they will choose but then I am surprised at the end.

This book absolutely lived up to all of the hype! Gabrielle Meyer has woven a captivating story that kept me engaged from the very first page.
Well-rounded characters, swoony romance, fascinating history, spellbinding storytelling...this book has it all!
I read this in one sitting! I picked it up and could not put it down!
This whole series is such a unique and fresh take on time travel romance.

“Everything about my life was one secret built upon another. A fortress of mysteries too high to breach. Some were the secrets I kept, and others were the secrets kept from me.”
Phenomenal story that captures the imagination with a unique premise that kept me turning pages. Caroline Reed lives two lives simultaneously in two different eras but no one believes her. She wonders if it is a blessing or a curse because there is no one to guide her as other time-crossers had. When she finds a letter from her mother, she goes on a quest.
The author drew on a lot of interesting history in each timeline: Pirates in 1727 and Prohibition, spiritual revival and infamous criminals in 1927. It was fascinating to go back and forth to see how these events connected.
The characters were well-rounded. My favorite was Marcus, the pirate and the 1727 time period was my favorite as well. Marcus was very noble and wanted to forsake piracy and live a more upright life. He grew in his walk with God and learned to rely on His leading. Caroline grew up as the daughter of a famous preacher in 1927. But putting her faith into action was difficult for her because of the compelling search to find her origins as a time-crosser.
If you like unusual but fascinating time-crossing stories, do not miss this book or series. I loved them all.

Title: Across the Ages
Author: Gabrielle Meyer
Genre: Historical Fiction
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Synopsis: “Do you think ‘tis His will that you live like this?…Mayhap it isn’t a curse, after all…but a gift from God that only a few are privileged to experience.” Caroline Reed lives two lives in two very different time periods: one of the pirates and one of the Prohibition. With little information as to why she was born this way, Caroline seeks to discover her family history. A search for her mother leads her to disguise as a boy on a pirate ship and leaves her to question not only her own identity but those of her ancestors. As Caroline discovers who she is, she learns more and more about exactly what this supposed gift means for her future—and how much she’ll have to give up in just a few short days.

Analysis: As perhaps my most anticipated read this year, Across the Ages 100% lived up to the hype and my (maybe slightly) lofty expectations. Gabrielle is a brilliant plotter and brings all three previous books to connect in this beautiful story. My mouth literally dropped open at one point—no spoilers here, you’ll have to read it for yourself! While it could be considered speculative or fantasy to some, I love that Caroline is so relatable. She struggles with real life issues such as pleasing people and her personal identity, and Gabrielle masterfully weaves timeless truth into these pages. Not to mention this book has a swoony pirate! Scottish brogue?! Yes, please! But I must say I have a soft spot for Caroline’s other love interest too. The deeper the time crossing goes the more obsessed I become with this series! As always, I can’t wait to read what Gabrielle writes next!

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Guys. Pirates. Airplanes. Gold. Ernest Hemingway. Ships. Prohibition. Hidden identity. Revivalists. Buried treasure. Robbers. Romance. This book has it all.

It's a time travel historical romance and I was hesitant because I get super confused when people mess with timelines but I am SO glad I said yes because it was entirely captivating.

Thank you Bethany House Fiction for the gifted ebook.

From the publisher: Caroline holds a deep secret. Living in 1727 and 1927 simultaneously, each night she goes to sleep in one life and wakes up in the other. In search of answers to her unique existence, Caroline stumbles upon a letter from her mother hinting at her own experiences as a time-crosser, sending Caroline on a daring quest to uncover the truth.

The Timeless series has easily become a favorite of mine and I’m always anticipating the next book! They never disappoint and always cover interesting historical periods - this book lets you live out high seas adventures on a pirate ship in 1727 and Prohibition and gangsters in 1926.

I think the romance in this book may be my favorite so far of the series! The story started out a little slower for me, but then became a major page turner. I’m always so anxious to find out how these stories will come together, but never want them to end!

Although you could read this book as a standalone - PLEASE read the earlier books first as this one includes some big spoilers for previous books.

“Mayhap you were born this way so God can work through your life, Caroline. Not because your mother or grandmother sinned, but because God has a plan for you.”

I have loved each book in the Timeless series. In the first three books, Gabrielle Meyer chose time periods that I have always found interesting and I loved getting a fresh perspective and new insights. In book four, Gabrielle introduces Caroline and she may be my favorite of the time crossing women. Living simultaneously in two timelines would be challenging to say the least, but the others had someone they could trust and talk to. They had someone who could somewhat explain what they were dealing with. Caroline was flying blind. She had nobody who could give her advice, explain things, or even just someone to vent to! I can’t imagine how much more difficult that would be! And, for the most part, Caroline handled it with grace and empathy. There were a few times when she was a little judgmental or petty, but nobody is perfect and she did get past that. I loved her 1927 parents and how loving and accepting they were. I adored Lewis, he was perfect for 1927 Caroline. Marcus is such a cinnamon roll character and the perfect example of how God’s grace can change us. I loved the visit with Hope and Grace and would love more updates in future books. I truly hope that we find out that Caroline and her 1727 grandfather managed a reunion. This entire concept is so imaginative and well written. And there are so many historical options that the series does have to end for a long time!

This was my first read of the Timeless series and I loved it so much that I need to go back and read the other 3!

A girl Caroline who lives 2 lives- one in 1727 as a stowaway on a pirate ship masquerading as a boy and in 1927- the daughter of a minister who has to keep her brother's nefarious activities quiet lest her family be ruined.

I liked her life in 1727 the best. I understand why she wanted to escape where she was raised there and she was so brave to hide as a boy. Though I'm a big fan of the 1920s, I really felt it unfair the secret she had to keep from her parents.

I like that when she tells people at this age of her double lives, they are a bit skeptical but choose to believe her. I think she trusts the right people to help her understand this gift she has been given. The choices she had to make related to the gift are hard but I felt she made the right one even when it's sad.

Woaaaaaahhhhhhhh this book.
The setting. The romance. The lively characters. Everything. Wowwwww.
Every single book in this series has been incredible so I knew this one would be as well, but wow. It blew me away.
I felt like I was experiencing everything right alongside the characters. I could feel the tension. I could picture myself right in the main character’s shoes. I was so immersed in the story and I stayed fully captivated until the last page.
I may or may not have cried when I finished it. I didn’t want it to end.

This book totally captivated me!

I had never read any fiction book with pirates before and that is what made this one so fascinating!
I could tell that the author had done a lot of research so I was looking forward to reading her notes at the end. I sort of wish I had read them before I read the book. It really enriches the story for me if I know more about the ideas for the characters and the history while I’m reading.

I have really enjoyed this series, even though the third book did make me a little nervous with all the witch trials.

I’m so glad this series is continuing. This story was different in the fact that the characters had no guide. And sometimes there were so many characters from the past books mentioned that I had trouble remembering who they were.
But I did love all the Christian references and seeing how faith can change lives.

Highly recommend!

Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.

I loved this fresh take on this travel-crossing romance, which features vivid historical details, including pirates, a treasure hunt, lots of emotions, and a swoony romance.

Caroline exists simultaneously in 1727 and 1927. Each night, she sleeps in one life and wakes up in the other. In searching for answers about her unique existence, Caroline discovers a letter from her mother that hints at her experiences as a time-crosser. This revelation sends Caroline on a quest to uncover the truth.

In 1727, while pursuing the mysteries of her mother's past, Caroline disguises herself as a cabin boy and joins a ship heading to the Bahamas, her mother's last known location. Amid treacherous waters, she encounters Marcus Zale, a ruthless yet handsome pirate. As she navigates this dangerous world, she becomes entangled in a web of secrets, deception, and unexpected alliances.

It was a wonderfully engaging and satisfying read! The writing was beautiful, and there were many amazing plot twists. I enjoy unpredictable books that keep me guessing and turning the pages, and this one certainly did that.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for the eARC.
