Really creative take on dual-timeline and time traveling. I enjoyed the story, and seeing both times of pirates in 1727, as well as the prohibition era of 1927. And the tension of Caroline having to function in both those times was done really well, both trying to disguise herself in the earlier time with the pirates, and in navigating her family dynamics in the latter.

I thought the writing was really good, and the depth of characters was also excellently done. The concept of shame and feeling stuck in your mistakes and bad decisions, and accepting God’s redemption was also well done and relatable.

All in all, I had a very hard time putting this down and loved all the elements in it. Really enjoyed it.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are mine.

Even though Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer had a beautiful ending, I hope the author continues this series as I enjoy these romps through time far too much!

Throughout this book I kept asking myself, what would I do if I lived two lives like Caroline? Would I choose to stay in the time when the convenience of things like hot water, cars and electricity made life easier? Or would I choose love and give up all that? I have read all the books in this series and I knew Caroline would have to choose before her 21st birthday. And this is where this book takes a different path - Caroline doesn’t know a thing about the time-travelling rules and throughout the book you are biting your nails hoping she figures it out fast as the days get closer to her birthday. I could not put this book down!

The romance was awesome, as was the faith element. The message of redemption was well done, and I appreciated it.

While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you buy all three books. Why deprive yourself of this incredible series? I highly recommend it!

I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Bethany House Publishers through NetGalley for my honest review.

Another great novel in this series. So different from the others--again. This one had a few more tie-ins to the previous novel. The main character in this novel was really on a search for who she was in God’s eyes. The difficult romance choice was much different in this story and I liked how that wasn’t such a central focus for this book. Both time lines she lived in had fascinating historical things that I learned so much about. Both time lines delt with difficult issues and the overwhelming arc of God’s forgiveness was strong. Fantastic read!

Every time I read one of gabrielle meyers books, I love being swept away to two different time periods, and she is so great at bringing them alive! The way she weaves together 1927 era prohibition and 1727 pirating on the high seas-what else could you want from a story? I loved the messages of faith too, there were a few scenes that made me tear up, in fact. Read this for the:
-immaculate historical vibes-you can tell she does her research!
-redemption and also whatever the opposite of redemption is
-the most handsome heart of gold pirate that ever pirated
-speakeasy adventures and pirate ship shenanigans

Another incredible book in the Timeless Series! I have read all of them and they are consistently impressive storylines, interesting settings, moving moments and decisions to make, and always well written. I can't get enough of these books!

Across the Ages was an extremely satisfying addition to the Timeless series. The books have me captivated! I was literally bouncing in my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen to Caroline!

Plotline wise, Caroline was a compelling character and I was rooting for her at every turn. My heart ached along with her during the hard times, and I cheered when she succeeded.

Without spoiling anything, as a history buff there were certain characters mentioned that I went, "Hey! I know who that is!" And I loved it. I also always love little Easter eggs sprinkled in about other books and characters.

Overall, this was a five star read for me!

This book is INCREDIBLE! Gabrielle Meyer did it again and wrote another amazing installment to her "Timeless" series with "Across the Ages". I'm so glad the publisher, Bethany House gave the green light for Meyer to write more of these books and am excited for more to come. I finished this book within 24 hours of starting it and had a hard time putting it down to be a responsible adult! These are time slip novels where the heroine falls asleep in one timeline and moments later awakes in the other.

This one is set in 1727 and 1927 in the eras of pirates and prohibition. This heroine, Caroline doesn't know why she is the way she is so unlike the other books she doesn't have a guide so is on a quest for answers. She finds a clue in the 1727 timeline and the story takes off from there.

This book, like the others is very faith filled. God truly is at the center of what she does and through her experiences with characters in both timelines, she learns more about herself and her Creator. The author's research was so good and she really brought these eras to life for the reader, even when full of danger and things that would bring despair to the reader. The epilogue at the end also gives the reader an insight to the characters, some of who were loosely based on real historical figures and is very well worth reading after you finish the novel.

There are so many twists and turns the reader is left guessing what will happen next. I enjoyed seeing how Caroline chose her final timeline and who she met along the way. There may even be some cameos from previous characters in the series.

This book is best read as the fourth in the series. I've read all four books and strongly suggest that anyone looking to read this books, reads the previous three to fully understand this character and her book. The series really builds upon itself and is well worth the time to read.

Thank you to Bethany House and Netgalley for an opportunity to read an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Gabrielle Meyers Time Crosser series is a page turner that can't be missed.
Caroline doesn't know why, but for as long as she can remember, she has
known two lives. In 1727, she lives on a plantation with a strict grandfather
who has plans for her marriage. But Caroline has other plans when she runs
away and eventually lives aboard a pirate ship disguised as a young cabin
boy. At midnight, Caroline crosses over to 1927 and lives the life of a preacher's
daughter. Who sings like an angel but longs to be like everyone else. Caroline
believes that she is the only time crosser and wonders if there are answers just
out of her reach. A book about forgiveness and making changes. What a great
series. I hope there will be another story in this series.

Across the Ages
by Gabrielle Meyer
Pub Date: Nov. 5 2024
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Caroline holds a deep secret. Living in 1727 and 1927 simultaneously, each night she goes to sleep in one life and wakes up in the other. In search of answers to her unique existence, Caroline stumbles upon a letter from her mother hinting at her own experiences as a time-crosser, sending Caroline on a daring quest to uncover the truth. In 1727, Caroline disguises herself as a cabin boy and joins a ship sailing for the Bahamas, her mother's last known location, where she crosses paths with a ruthless but handsome pirate and is caught in a web of secrets, deception, and unexpected alliances.
Across the Ages is the fourth book in the Timeless series. While there are some references to previous characters in the series and there may be a few spoilers to such, this could probably be enjoyed as a standalone as well. That said, it's a wonderful series and absolutely worth reading in its entirety.
This is my favorite in the series! Caroline's parents in 1927 were such a wonderful example of practicing what you preach, and I just found myself loving everything about this book so much. This one absolutely cannot be missed.

I was very excited when I saw this book. I just had to grab it.
This is such an awesome series! Very exciting too!
Pirates, treasure off the coast of Florida wow!
I was drawn into this adventure book from the beginning. I lost a whole evening with this adventure.
I really enjoyed in getting to know each of these characters.
Can you imagine living 2 separate lives? I sure can't. That's why I think time traveling would be fun. I'd like to know what Florida be really like in those days.
I was tickled pink about this novel. I live in Florida now and love learning about it.
Lots.of twists and turns to keep me turning the pages.
I think I loved 1727 better. It was more exciting than 1927.in my opinion.
Lots of famous people woven in to make a wonderful rollercoaster ride that I won't soon forget.
I was sad when the story ended. I sighed in satisfaction.
Meyer did an awesome job of describing Marcus and Caroline that I could actually picture them in my mind.
I want to make mention another reason I love this series so much was the author used the main characters' point of view. For this I feel like I can connect to them much better.
There's treasure all around us. We just need to open our eyes and look around us.
Thanks Mrs. Meyer! Please keep these wonderful adventures coming!
5 stars from me. I loved every minute of it.
I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer is a unique, yet thrilling story set in 1727 and 1927. This time the storyline features pirates and the 1920's with a Billy Sunday vibe. If readers have read her other stories, then there will be a few returning characters from the previous books. They will interact in ways that will make readers smirk as they know the truth behind their time crossing. I love how Meyer takes two totally different historical time periods and make them interact through one character. This time, Caroline, gets to make the decision about which path to follow. She is the daughter of a time crosser that is mentioned in one of the previous stories, but her story is not flushed out. It is a glimpse on the page. Readers who are familiar with Meyer's stories know how hard it is for each heroine to decide which timeline to stay in and what timeline to leave. The struggle on the surface is harder than we could ever imagine. These characters need a supportive cast in order to help them make the correct decision. Caroline is no different. Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer is another wonderful addition to this series. I can't wait to read the next two books that are still coming.

I received a complimentary copy of Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer from Bethany House Publishers, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Absolutely stunning in every way!!

Caroline spends a day on her grandfather's plantation in 1727 and when she wakes up the next, is with her parents in 1927.

She has no idea why she lives two different lives and desperate for answers, she disguises herself as a cabin boy and joins a ship sailing to the Bahamas. When she meets Marcus, a handsome pirate with secrets of his own, she hopes she has found an ally.

As she looks for answers in 1927, she uncovers uncomfortable truths about her family and finds herself in dangerous situations though thankfully, her childhood friend and policeman Lewis is there to help her and keep her safe.

But as Caroline discovers the truth about her past and her present, she is forced to make an impossible decision about her future.

What you'll love:
time-crossing romance
single POV
pirates & mobsters
vivid historical details
treasure hunt
plot twists and teurns
swoony romance
themes of mercy and forgiveness

I left so many things off the list but this book, much like the others in the series, is best enjoyed without knowing too much beforehand.

Because OH MY WORD!!! This book was a breathtaking ride that took me from the high seas of the 1700s to the speakeasies of the 1920s. I came for the pirates and mobsters but stayed for the epic adventure, the swoony romance, the enduring friendships, the captivating history, the heart-pounding suspense, and the beautiful message of forgiveness and mercy.

Beautifully crafted and altogether mesmerizing, this story will undoubtedly be one of my favorite reads of the year! It truly deserves all the stars!

Loved this fresh take in this fantastic series and while this *could* be read as a standalone, you will enjoy it so much more if you read the series in order. (Start with When the Day Comes!)

If you haven't experienced the thrill of a Gabrielle Meyer time-crossing romance yet, do yourself a favor and pick one up! You can thank me later.

I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.

Gabrielle Meyer's Timeless books are on my all time favorite list. As every book is announced I automatically pre order it. This time I was fortunate enough to score an Advance Reader Copy through NetGalley! Across The Ages is fantastic. I loved Caroline in both of her lives and really struggled with which life I thought she should choose! I loved the fact that Caroline was a woman of faith in both timelines, but still struggled. She was very real. Caroline had two swoon-worthy guys to choose from, which complicated which life she wanted. My only problem with the story is that it is over...

So pre order Across The Ages and be prepared to take PTO, hire a babysitter, meal prep, you know just set aside time to read it as you won't want to put it down!

I was given a copy of Across The Ages with no expectations. all thoughts are my own.

What an absolute PLEASURE to read a book of this quality!
I enjoyed every well-written word!
The storyline is amazing and very captivating! The characters were very well defined.
The time-crossing element flows so well that it is believable! I was able to go back and forth between the two different years with each new chapter very easily, without any confusion.
I loved the historical facts woven throughout the story - and appreciated that the author includes some notes after the conclusion to clarify which characters were inspired by real people. Her history research efforts make her stories so much more real - and so enjoyable!
The romance was clean and the ending was very satisfying! A bit of drama and suspense had me wondering how it would all work out though!!
I particularly loved the faith in God aspect in this story. It was beautifully written, with a soft yet strong inclusion of salvation in Jesus Christ, and sweet focus on forgiveness, and grace.
This is one of my top 5 favorite books I have read in 2024 for sure!
I whole heartedly recommend this book - as well as the rest of the series!
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this book!
All opinions stated here are truthful - and all my own!
I will definitely read this book again in the future!

This was such a GOOD book! If you've read all the others in the series, this is such a fresh take. How interesting to see how life would be for a time-crosser who thought she was the only one!

Once I was hooked on one time (and didn't want to leave it), something would happen in the other time to endear me to it. Lots of interesting characters here, y'all. (Pirates, gangsters, a Billy Sunday-esque preacher, etc.) I appreciated the lack of a love triangle. And of course, the story is rich in history, making it all the more intriguing. The faith thread, though, MAKES the book. Loved it!

This is now my second favorite in the series! (When the Day Comes will always hold first place, I think!)

Across the Ages is the fourth book in the Timeless series. While there are some references to previous characters in the series and there may be a few spoilers to such, this could probably be enjoyed as a standalone as well. That said, it's a wonderful series and absolutely worth reading in its entirety.

With each additional book in this series, I am absolutely astounded... not only by Gabrielle Meyer's fantastic storytelling abilities, but also how each book---while all dealing with time-crossers who will ultimately have to choose one time--- feels like a completely unique and exciting story. In this story, Caroline is living in 1727 and 1927. One of the things that sets her story apart is that she does not have someone in her life to help navigate being a time-crosser and what that truly means. At the start of the story, she believes that she is the only of her kind... but when she finds a letter from her mother in 1727, she finds herself posing as a cabin boy on a pirate ship to seek answers. Pirates and prohibition!? What's not to love about these two drastically different lives she is leading? I really loved the romance in this story... but I have to say my favorite aspect was truly the message of God's grace and redemption that it offers. This is a theme that we see carried out so beautifully across both timelines. Caroline's parents in 1927 were such a wonderful example of practicing what you preach, and I just found myself loving everything about this book so much. While I have enjoyed absolutely every single book in this series, this is definitely a new favorite for me and one that absolutely cannot be missed.
