Sleeping with the Frenemy, the third book in the series, is my favorite so far! Leo Vega’s love life is in shambles—between recovering from a gunshot wound and trying to rekindle things with Sofi, the woman he’s been secretly involved with for years, he’s got his hands full. Sofi, on the other hand, is focused on moving forward, and she’s not about to let Leo drag her back into old mistakes. But thanks to some meddling from their hilarious, scheming grandparents, and a cute rescue dog, Leo and Sofi end up as reluctant roommates, and sparks start flying all over again.
What makes this book so enjoyable is the mix of humor, family chaos, and a sweet second-chance romance. Leo’s determination and Sofi’s stubbornness make for a fun push-and-pull dynamic, and the family meddling just adds to the charm. If you love second-chance romances with a good dose of humor and heart, you’ll enjoy this one!

Leo and Sofi have been secretly seeing each other off and on since they were teens (15 years), because Sofi didn’t think her BFF — Leo’s sister — would be okay with it or the longevity they’ve been hiding it.
Healing, growth and change after traumatic injury and the weight of family obligation are navigated while deciding whether or not they can/should be openly together.
Meddling elders, a big family wedding and cute little (kids, pups) adds fun to this steamy, engaging, fun and moving love story, highly recommend.
Such a great cast of characters. I hope we get more of their stories.

I was so excited when I had the opportunity to read the last book of The Vega family series through NetGalley as an ARC. I read the first two in September as part of my Hispanic Heritage month celebration. The way Natalie describes her characters is phenomenal, I feel seen as a Puerto Rican. There’s not many Puerto Rican stories out there and I love when I can connect to a story. The characters are so relatable and I loved reading Leo and Sofi’s story. Sofi is Kamilah’s best friend and has secretly had an on and off relationship with Kamilah’s brother Leo. Leo’s grandfather of course gets involved in helping to get them together and stay together. Memories are intertwined throughout to show the connection of the two. Reading this series has made me want to visit Chicago even more, as I didn’t know there was a huge Puerto Rican community there.

I couldn't get into Sleeping with the Frenemy. I really struggled with Sofi's character. She was a little too abrasive for my taste. I found her hypocritical with the whole Khamilia thing. When it came to Leo and Sofi's relationship, I started to feel bad for Leo. I wasn't invested enough to want to continue on with them. I found some of their interactions awkward. I did like the grandparents and the Puerto Rican representation. Thank you to NetGalley and MIRA for the ARC.

I have enjoyed all of the books in the Vega Family Love Stories series but Sleeping with the Frenemy has to be my favourite. Leo and Sofi were compelling, interesting characters and I was immediately rooting for their relationship. It was wonderful to see all of the characters from this world we have come to love (Papo Vega fans unite) and the growth, both together and separately, that the characters went through. This book was fun, spicy, and hilarious - highly recommend!

Exquisite. I loved it. The writing has so much emotion, sass, tension, angst. I was captivated from page one. Books one and two I listened via audiobook and they were great, but eyeball reading this one was an experience of emotions.

First off, thank you to the publisher + NetGalley for providing me with this ARC!
This story follows Leo and Sofi, who have known each other for years and have (unbeknownst to Kamilah - Leo’s sister/Sofi’a best friend) had an on and off romantic relationship.
Things happen in their lives that puts them in a forced proximity situation and the two are forced to have some difficult decisions/make some hard decisions about their connection.
I was super excited to read because I LOVES the one before this, but I just wasn’t obsessed with these two😭
I do plan on going back to read the first book in the series SOON + would love to read more books by this author, this just wasn’t the couple for me.

absolutely love love love the Vega family.
i liked this one more than the second book. but this author hasn't disappointed me, yet.
Looking forward to more sagas from her

This is the first book I have read by Natalie Cana. I really enjoyed it. I can see myself reading more by her. It was funny, heartfelt, steamy, and romantic. I am glad that I took my time with this book. The ending was really great. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this addition to the series of strong, Latine-led women! It was a rollercoaster of emotions but worth the ride in my opinion. That third act break up was rough though! I should've known. Sofi and Leo go through one hell of a bumpy road to find their way to each other!

This third book in the Vega Family Love Stories series focused on Sofia and Leo, and I'm sure fans of this series will enjoy it. The family shenanigans and Papo's standout moments added humor and warmth, while the depth of character development—especially as both main characters faced their pasts and grew together—showcased Natalie Caña's exceptional writing. There were, however, scenes involving grand gestures at other people's weddings pulled me out of the story, as they made me uncomfortable,. Additionally, the trope of one partner keeping the relationship a secret is something I find hard to overlook.
3.75 rounded up

Such a fun read! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

This series just keeps getting better and better. The drama, the romance, the family dynamics. It all comes together perfectly. Sofia and Leo are so much more than their on again off again situationship. The character growth they both went through in their own struggles and together made me fall even harder for them. Papo is great yet again with a new sidekick!

I wanted to like this book more than I did. Unfortunately, it fell into a trap that many contemporary romance “enemies to lovers” do. The way Leo and Sofi treated each other was embarrassing. Sofi called Leo a fuckboy in front of his mother and her grandma. They traded barbs at each other like kids. I found it hard to overlook how childish they acted at the beginning of the book.

This is the third book in the Vega Family series and I had great time while reading it. We follow the youngest Vega son Leo and his will they, won't they relationship with his sister Kamilah's best friend Sofi. Leo and Sofi were great characters both on their own as well as together. I rooted for them from the beginning and I loved how devious their grandparents were in order to make this happen.
This is a great romance series and I am fully invested in the whole Vega family. I am hoping there is more to come soon!

I was genuinely rooting for Leo and Sofi, the main characters, to succeed and change their ways because the author had me completely invested in them. The relationship between grandparents and children is always my favorite aspect of family novels, and I really enjoyed how the authors incorporated the grandparents into Leo and Sofi's love story.

This is absolutely my favorite installment in the Vega series by this author.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Harley Quinn trade books for the arch copy. This is my honest and willingly published review.
I have read the other two books in this series and I feel like you really do need to read them in order to get the most impact, although they can be read alone. So far this one has been my favorite in the series. It is absolutely so well done and the characters feel so flawed and human and yet emotionally charged.
We get some really great representation for trusting ones. Hard learning to build trust in others again when you've been hurt by previous close family members. We have Afro Latina representation. We have recovery from a traumatic injury. We have just so many great things that many people can relate to.
I absolutely recommend reading the first two books and then getting to this one when it's released on October 29 because it is absolutely worth the read.

I love this series and it’s very hard to pick a favorite couple but I must admit Sofi and Leo are delicious! I loved finally getting to the meat of their relationship. With books 1 & 2 all we got were glimpses and sprinkles of moments and comments that left you wanting more information. Both characters were so fully fleshed and had such interesting arcs they went through individually. Sofi’s conflict with her father felt so familiar and I loved their confrontation. Seeing Leo realize he was more than what he thought made him who was heartwarming, the Vegas are the most loving communicative Puerto Rican family I’ve ever seen lol
Not to mention the ups and downs of Leo and Sofia’s relationship. I loved their banter, the flashbacks, the spice and dirty talk, and the grand (and small) gestures. This was so well worth the wait
OH and I loveddddd all the musical references, it made me smile, sing the songs to myself while I read. I need a playlist with release! The representation was everything to me as well. BRAVO Natalie this is absolutely my favorite Latinx romance series

I am obsessed with this book. Like so much. I adored every second of this. I've been obsessed with this series since I picked up the first one. I was waiting for Leo's book so much.
I always love the Puerto Ricaness of Natalie Caña's books. I love the bilingualness. The messy grandparents that meddle in their grandchildren's affairs and the close family that has each others backs always. Reminds me so much of my family and why I love being Puerto Rican. Like so much.
Sofia right now is my favorite Latine female lead. I love me a non-curvy Latina. It made me feel so represented in the way that I am not the "tradicional" latine looking person. I love my girl and I'll always protect her and her feelings. In some moments I wanted to smack her, but she's so great. She's so human and I wish she was real and my friend.
Leo on the other hand was great to see him not be such a fuck boy. Like how he now wants his life to be. Like I want to marry him, to be honest.
I got an e-arc of this book on NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5/5 and 3/3 for crying while reading the last third of this book.
It was a rollercoaster and I loved every single minute of it.
Seeing Leo's maturity in the forefront and his growth from book 1 to book 3 was amazing. I'm still shocked at how long he and Sofi had been dancing around each other. That was a wonderful surprise and a great foundation that helped bring a solid foundation for the book.
Papo is brilliant and I love Abuela Fina. She's my second favorite character in this whole series.
Sofi and Leo had a lot of road bumps in the journey of their happily every after and I was invested in every single moment. The third act break up was a punch to the gut and I was in tears throughout all of it. I understand Sofi's trauma wounds and I related to her pain so deeply that I just wanted to give her and Leo the biggest hugs.
This book was beautiful and like the rest of the series, I felt so seen and represented. I loved every single bit of this series and I can't wait to see what is next for Natalie.
Thank you NetGalley and Mira/Harlequin Trade Publishing for the free eArc in exchange for a review.
