Obsessed with this sneak peek , but DYING FOR MORE . So beyond sad that this was only the prologue and chapter 1 ! GAAAH !
The audio was done super well , the mystical music , the characters voices. My gosh , I missed these characters SO MUCH !
This is just a sneak peek for Somewhere Beyond the Sea, and I thoroughly enjoyed the little bit I heard.
I can't wait to return to the world of The House in the Cerulean Sea and it's wonderful quirky characters!
I really enjoyed this arc audio sneak peak I got from NetGalley. The original has a very special place in my heart and I’m so happy to be able to revisit this world. I know the author didn’t want to become a niche series writer but I want more already.
I love this series, and I can't wait to read the second novel. This little teaser got me very excited for its release!
*I received an advanced peek of this audiobook from NetGalley.*
I don't know if I will get the audiobook version of Somewhere Beyond the Sea because I have such difficulty with the narrator Daniel Henning. I really enjoyed his work on House in the Cerulean Sea, and I don't know what exactly has changed in his performance to make it so irritating to me. (Henning is really prolific as a narrator, however, so this is absolutely my personal hangup). I find many of his characterizations so over-the-top that they took me out of the story, which is a shame because so far, it was lovely.
Aside from my personal difficulties with the narration style, this was a well done audiobook. The flow was perfect and the engineering was great. I don't know if I'll add the audio to my personal library, but I will absolutely be adding the story.
In the audiobook excerpt of Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune, listeners are immediately drawn into Klune’s signature blend of heartfelt storytelling and evocative prose. Narrated with warmth and sensitivity, the excerpt promises the same emotional depth and lyrical beauty that Klune is known for.
The snippet introduces listeners to a story rich in atmosphere and character, with Klune’s distinctive voice bringing to life the nuanced relationships and poignant moments that are likely to be central themes throughout the novel. The narrator’s delivery enhances the immersive experience, capturing the emotional landscape and setting the stage for the full narrative.
Klune’s knack for crafting engaging and emotionally resonant stories shines through, hinting at a tale that will explore themes of love, self-discovery, and the complexities of human connection. The excerpt leaves listeners intrigued and eager to dive deeper into the world Klune has created.
Overall, the sneak peek suggests that Somewhere Beyond the Sea will be a captivating and deeply moving listen, continuing TJ Klune’s tradition of delivering thought-provoking and emotionally rich stories.
Being back in this world feels amazing! These are the most heart warming characters. Daniel Henning really brings these characters to life. Jennings is a genius when it comes to providing unique voices to each character.
Between the writing and the narration these lovable characters have such personality and heart. This preview arc has made me so excited for the release. I can’t wait to learn more about these characters and go on a wild adventure with them!
Somewhere Beyond the Sea begins with a look back at Arthur returning to the island to begin the orphanage there. We see Arthur and Zoe preparing the island and the home for the children. Then we jump forward to near where the epilogue of The House In the Cerulean Sea left off, with the children preparing a surprise for Arthur and Linus. This preview was so endearing. It was a fun look at our favorite characters and made me excited to read more once the novel is released. As always, Klune has a way of writing characters who are so real and lovable not in spite of, but because of their flaws. I cannot wait to return to the island once again.
I received a Sneak Peek of Somewhere Beyond the Sea in exchange for an honest review,
Klune does an absolutely beautiful job of painting characters that we all fall in love with very easily. He has done it in all of his books thus far, and he did not disappoint here. For anyone hoping to jump into this book without first having read The House in the Cerulean Sea, all I have to say is, "Stop! Do not proceed. Turn back now. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200."
There seems to have been a trend lately with writers of series where you can pick up a book anywhere along the way, and you can enjoy the books just as much as a standalone as much as a part of a series. This just isn't the case here. We needed the first book to get to know Arthur, Linus, and all of his beloved children at the island's orphanage.
In the sequel, Arthur returns to the home we came to love 28 years ago (in the fictional time line), only this round things look a lot different, and Arthur Parnassus is set on bringing hope and happiness back to the orphanage. Filled with magic, adventure, and a whole lot of heart, Somewhere Beyond the Sea is bound to capture the hearts of its audience with the same fierceness as the first time around. The House in the Cerulean Sea was a book about Linus Baker, a book about acceptance, loving others and yourself, and choosing the life that is best for you. Somewhere Beyond the Sea is a book about Arthur Parnassus and the strength it takes to be vulnerable and fight for that life.
While I cannot give the book in its entirety a rating, the sneak peak I received deserves 5 stars and them some. I can't wait to read the whole thing on September 10th!
Ugh, it killed me to find out this ARC was only a sneak peek of Somewhere Beyond the Sea. I didn't get to listen to enough to tell you if you'll enjoy the story, but if you wanted more time in Klune's Cerulean Sea, Somewhere Beyond the Sea *seemed* to pick up where we left off with book 1.
Linus, Arthur and their adorably unique 6 adopted children are back in Somewhere Beyond the Sea, the sequel to House by the Cerulean Sea. From the first chapter, it’s funny and heart warming as we dive in to the children’s latest adventure they show us how to be more than kind and tolerant to each other. The same narrator is back for the audiobook bringing each character to life with a different voice. I can’t wait to listen to the whole thing!
Diving back in to Marsyas felt like coming home. I was a bit nervous because of how much I loved the first book, but even just reading the sneak peek, I can tell this sequel will honor everything I love about the first.
The humour. The family. The feels. I cannot wait to finish this!
Reviews on review sites will be updated when I finish the film book
I thought I might be satisfied by just a taste . . . I was woefully mistaken. Luckily, I have just one more week to wait for the whole enchilada.
One thing I can say is that it's an absolute delight to have Daniel Henning, who narrated The House in the Cerulean Sea, back to narrate this book. He's absolutely phenomenal—creating distinct character voices that really highlight their personalities and make it easy to understand who is speaking.
Reading the sneak peek *did inspire me* both to pre-order a signed hardcover edition and to re-read The House in the Cerulean Sea, which I loved *even more* this time around than when I read it shortly after its publication in 2020.
My four-star review for this excerpt is an expectation/manifestation for the full book.
Can’t wait to read the full book to see how the characters have developed. TJ Klune is quickly becoming an auto buy author for me. Thanks NetGalley for the audio eArc.
I was able to listen to a roughly one hour sneak peek of this audiobook thanks to NetGalley, Macmillan publishing, and TJ Klune. Truthfully, I loved what I heard. Daniel Henning did a tremendous job narrating this book.
I was fortunate enough to read The House in the Cerulean Sea as an ARC. Being able to get a glimpse into this one gives me the same feeling I had then. Whisked away by sheer brilliance.
I will definitely be reading and listening to this book as many times as I have the previous book and I guarantee it will be among my physical copies for my “shelf trophies” and given away for every occasion I can think of.
I cannot thank TJ Klune, Macmillan Publishing, and NetGalley enough for allowing me the opportunity to relish this ALC sneak peek and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.
I absolutely adore Daniel Henning's narration. He does such a stellar job with the voicing and when I started listening I really didn't want to stop. He took me right back to the island with all of my favorite characters and made it seem like no time at all has gone by since I listened to The House in the Cerulean Sea. I have now pre-ordered the audiobook and will be thrilled to listen to the whole thing when it releases next week.
I loved this little taste of what's to come in the sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea. Th first book made my heart so happy, and I cannot wait to rejoin some of my favorite characters. Looking forward to the full release!
I’m absolutely thrilled for the release of the Cerulean Sea sequel! The sneak peek was everything I hoped for and more. Seeing the characters I fell in love with return brought an overwhelming sense of joy and nostalgia. It’s like being reunited with old friends, and I’m so eager to dive back into their world. The snippet captured the magic and warmth that made the first book so special, and I can’t wait to see how their stories continue to unfold. This brief glimpse has only heightened my excitement, and I’m counting down the days until I can read more!
I absolutely loved this sneak peek! The narrator was fantastic and did such an amazing job. I can't wait till release day to dive in and finish this gem.
This sneak peek has me so excited for TJ Klune's follow up to The House in the Cerulean Sea. I would love to see this become a series because I just can't get enough of the characters. I will definitely be getting a copy come pub day!
