This little sneak peak was just enough to get me very excited about TJ Klune as an author. I haven't read any of their work before and I did not realize that this is the sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea so I definitely need to read that first.

I really enjoyed the writing style and the descriptive language that Klune uses. This book really did a great job of the setting the scene and I really enjoyed the narrator.

I will definitely be checking out both The House in the Cerulean Sea and Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Macmillan audio for this snippet audiobook ARC.

What a bummer to think I got a full ALC, only to realize it was a sneak peak!

Regardless, I really enjoyed the first book and found Arthur much more compelling than Linus, so I'm thrilled this book will focus on Arthur. Even the short time spent with the kids in this sneak peak got me so excited to be back with them.

I'm excited for this book, but also disappointed in the author. I'd be much more excited if Klune would actually release a statement around his "inspiration" for the story being from residential schools and include reparations for Indigenous families who's stories he co-opted for his own gain. His silence has been deafening the past few years.

Just a teaser and it had me ready to cry!

'House on the Cerulean Sea' is an absolutely gorgeous story with top notch characters. So much so that as exciting as it is to revisit this story, it's also a little terrifying... what if it doesn't feel the same!?

From this first snippit my fears are somewhat swayed. The prelude portion felt pitch perfect in humor and setting, like a warm familiar hug. I truely cannot wait to get the whole book in my hands.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series. Listening to the audiobook of the second part that gives insight to Arthur's life and ratio of the orphanage was beautiful.
Shedding so much more light on the children and the life that emerged from his own decisions to take up as the caretaker of the place just beyond the sea. Klune's imagery paints a beautiful world within its words. The story is beautiful, breathtaking and should be on every readers TBR.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune. I am a pretty consistent mystery, thriller reader but decided to give TJ Klunes first book in this series a try and WOW! did it change my mind on fantasy so I HAD to read the sneak peak for Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Arthur is back and I am here for it! This sneak peak was amazing and I cannot wait to read the entire thing!!! The narrators were also fantastic!

I am so excited for the full release of this book! The first chapter of this book helped bring me back to the characters and I cannot wait to explore them more!
The only thing I wish that would have been there was a synopsis of what had happened in the first book or a character description again. I read the first book four years ago and would have loved a recap.

The narrator's voice is lovely and the pacing of the audiobook is perfect. I was thrilled when I was given this preview audiobook sample because I've been waiting for this sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea since I heard that there would be one. Just like the first book, this book promises to be the sweetest, warm hug of a book (the Cerulean Sea was one of the few books I read that made me happy during the pandemic). I cannot recommend this audiobook any more!

This audio excerpt of Somewhere Beyond the Sea was absolutely phenomenal. The narration is excellent and thoroughly kept my interest throughout the extended preview. Pacing, voices and inflections, and general sound of the narrators voice were just a few things that were particularly lovely about the audio. The small amount of story that was available was so enticing and I’m counting the days until I can consume this story in it’s entirety.

I loved this preview of Arthur's story even more in audio than I did in print since the narrator is amazing! I can't wait to read the full book! Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the early listen in exchange for my honest opinion.

I overall enjoyed the sneak peak but I couldn’t really get a feel for what the book would like. I absolutely loved book one and never expected there to be an additional book, so I am super excited. This author has an amazing writing style and I can’t wait to dive into the full book and be transported back to this wonderful world.

I was not expecting this to be a "Sneak Peak". I know it says it on the title but I managed to miss that somehow. I am really glad the same narrator is coming back though! This is one you definitely have to listen to. And I'm also excited for us to get Arthur's pov!

Okay, this excerpt was both a blessing and a curse.

I am so excited and it was so incredibly amazing. But - WHAT A TEASE!!!

I need it all, ASAP.

I am so excited for the rest of this story and will be foaming at the mouth waiting for release date.

I read a physical copy of House in the Cerulean Sea, so I can’t compare the two audiobooks. However, I may have to go back and listen to the first one after hearing this sneak peek!

I loved the opening music and how it immediately set the tone for the story. I was excited to jump right back in to the world the moment I heard the music start! There is only one narrator, but I was wildly impressed with how well they do with character voice variation. I do tend to find single narrator audiobooks difficult to listen to as audiobooks aren’t my preferred format, so I was pleasantly surprised.

I was already excited to revisit this world, but now I truly can’t wait. Thank you to NetGalley and TOR for the sneak peek!

I was disappointed that they used an American as the narrator. The story was good, but the American accent was distracting in a book where the setting is so important to the story.
