While the beginning is a bit slow and a little confusing, it’s also intriguing in a way that keeps readers interested until it picks up speed. This story has a lot of different facets to it. There are issues of race, politics, deep abandonment issues that make the relationships more substantial. The characters have a sweet chemistry with a little dose of humor and drama that develops into more than just a hero rescuing the heroine.
