Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the chance to listen to this audio version of this book.

I enjoyed this audio book and it had me gripped to the end! I enjoyed the twist ending, one I didn't predict at all.

Sophie has the perfect life or so it appears. But her daughter is having troubles and has been kicked out of school. Now Sophie is sure the tutor they’ve hired is after her husband. Things start disappearing and reappearing and it’s hard to know whats true and what’s just in her head anymore.

This one is a true psychological mystery that will keep you on your toes and thrill you right to the very end. It’s creepy AF but you won’t be able to stop reading /listening.

The narrator of the audio book is perfect never over dramatizing but inputting just the right amount of emotion and suspense and is a voice (and accent) pleasant to the ear.

Highly recommend!

I listened to the audiobook version of this title and I really enjoyed it.
I wasn't sure where it was going or who was the bad person!!
It had lots of twists and turns. I couldn't have guessed the ending - there was a bit too much going on, but I enjoyed it all the same.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Overall I enjoyed listening to the book as a quick read. I could have lived without Deanna’’s point of view seeing how her character turned out at the end. The book is definitely giving Lifetime Movie Network. Some parts seemed predictable and then the ending sped up and took a sharp left.

I’ve seen some hype around this read and was eager to get stuck in but honestly I think I missed the memo. I found it extremely slow paced and predictable an it was missing the intriguing aspect. I found the storyline boring and didn’t really hold my attention. Sophie for me was such an irritating character. The ending was just rushed and unbelievable and really just meh. I’m all for a storyline that’s a little different and stretches the truth but this one just didn’t ring true in any way. Not for me I’m afraid.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review #TheHomewrecker

This was a good book that kept my attention for the most part. There were times when I feel like it got a little slow, but it did pick back up in the end. I thought I had things figured out, but the ending did catch me by surprise.

Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook!

Firstly, I really enjoyed this audiobook and it was my first experience of a thriller in this format. It’s quite fast paced so if you want a gripping read you’ll definitely love this.

For me, I’m not sure if I’ve just read a few too many thrillers recently but it just felt a bit samey. The mental health struggles, the plot twists. It’s all just getting a bit standard for me so I struggled to really be invested in the book.

I’d be intrigued to actually read the book to see if I felt the same way.

Homewrecker is a gripping psychological drama by JM Dalgleish who I've never come across before. I received my audio copy from Netgalley. I liked the narration which was clear and easy to follow. There are a number of red herrings and I was caught out by the shocking conclusion although I had trouble believing the part an 18 year old and a 12 year old played in the drama.
I will look out for more of KM Dalgleish's work even though I did find myself getting irritated by the number of hands slipped around waists and the amount of shrugging that went on but I am a grumpy old lady!

Wow! Let me start by saying it’s been a long time since I’ve read a psychological thriller .. and I’ve never read anything written by J.M Dalgliesh. This was so good. I was Honored to listen to an advanced audio copy provided to me by NetGalley. The story is focused on the FMC, Sofie who is a middle aged woman whose daughter is having behavioral issues at school and her along with her husband, Scott are forced into hiring a tutor for Katie so she does not fall behind. Deanna is the tutor, she seems a wonderful fit for Katie until Sofie starts thinking her intentions are not as pure as she thought. She thinks Deanna and Scott might have something going on. Is sofie overreacting? Why is she forgetting things? Why is she seeing things that aren’t there? Or are they? The twists and turns in this story were mind blowing. Just when I thought I had It all figured out- - then boom, something new and surprising is waiting on the next page. The plot was so suspenseful, the characters were perfect, the narration was on point. I absolutely Loved it. Highly recommend. Definitely 5 stars for me .

Okay woah, that ending was something I thought I'd figured out but wow was I wrong. This psychological thrill was gripping, and had me interested from the start. I love that we got to understand the whole picture from multiple perspectives, leaving us wondering what the F*** was really happening! The twist at the end really solidified this as a huge win for me, as I absolutely did not see it coming. Each chapter was suspenseful and leaves you wanting more. I HIGHLY recommend this work and cannot wait to read more in the future.
Huge thanks to J M Dalgliesh, NetGalley, and Bookouture Audio for this advanced copy.

'Homewrecker' is an engaging read/listen from J M Dalgliesh that had me hooked!

The protagonist, Sophie, is an anchorwoman, and the story is largely told from her perspective. She is married to Scott and harbours a secret from her children, Chas and Katie. Everything seems to be running to course until Diana arrives to home tutor Katie following expulsion from school. What follows is a rollercoaster into mental health, deception and other things we can only associate with epic psychological fiction reads!

This is gripping, narrated well and capable of engaging to the end. Overall a very decent listen!

My thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this audiobook in exchange for an advance copy.

I really liked this book. The plot twist had me shaking in my boots. I thought I knew what was going to happen the whole time but then I was so wrong. The ending was very far fetched but I was okay with going for a ride.

Sophie's perfect life starts to take a turn for the worse when her daughter is expelled from school and the private teacher Sophie's husband hires, Deanna, is a pretty young woman who seems to be everything Sophie isn't. To make matters worse, her career, which seemed to be taking off, now seems to depend largely on how much skin she's willing to show. With things rapidly going downhill, Sophie has to figure out how to keep her life on track despite Deanna's attempts to derail it.

I struggled mightily with the first half of this book. The young nanny/tutor/babysitter trying to worm her way into a family has been done and overdone in my opinion. I wanted to read this one because it sounded like it had a slightly different bent on it and eventually it did but for me it took a very long time to get there. Still, I enjoyed the start of the story, and the last quarter was fast moving. I would definitely try one more from this author.

new author to me and totally won't be the last book i listen too from them.

The first tick in the box is that it has 2 of the best and favourite narrators ever! Imogen Church & Alison Campbell - its always going to be a cracking listen when they are narrating.

anyway - to the book itself.
it's not an original storyline, has been done before, but this is one of the better versions i have listened too. twisty, turny & unputtdownable, highly recommend.

5 stars

Sophie has the perfect family. When her daughter gets in trouble at school, she gets desperate and hires a nanny, Deanna. The nanny seems to be getting very close to her husband and her teenage daughter. What will Sophie do in order to protect her family?

I thought I had the ending worked out, but I was mistaken. There are lots of twists and turns in this thriller. Must read!

Thank you to J M Dalgliesh, Bookouture, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sophie has what seems on the surface to be a perfect life, but don’t look too deep. She feels she’s playing second fiddle to the dead first wife, her bosses at the tv station find her dress sense grumpy and want a change, her daughter is troubled and about to be expelled from school again and her cleaner has left with no sign of returning. Deanna seems to be the answer to at least one of those issues in her role as homeschool tutor to Katie. However she’s soon got her feet well and truly under the table. Overly friendly with Sophie’s husband and kids she’s soon living in the basement flat on call for anything.
Okay so this has the bones of a good psychological drama especially with Sophie’s blackouts making for unreliable narration. But it really misses the mark for me with its convoluted sub plots, too many unlikeable characters and the most unbelievable twist at the end.

Sophie has a well established career and is working really hard to keep up with everything going on around her - her daughter Katie seems to have suddenly turned a rebel and has been expelled from school for incorrect behavior.
When Deanna enters their life as Katie's tutor everything seems to change - Sophie's whole family seem to be falling in love with Deanna, and she doesnt know why!

Does Deanna want to replace Sophie or is there something more sinister at play? Deanna seems to have everything under control unlike Sophie who seems to be forgetting, misplacing things and almost becoming suicidal!

This book was a perfect example of how gaslighting works, eerie to the core!
Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture Audio and the author for the audiobook ARC!

I liked it. Don’t let the title fool you…. Dalgliesh has penned a twisty tale that will have you guessing. Things are not always as they seem!
I very much enjoyed the audiobook. The narration is clear, well paced and easy to listen to.
