Joanne, recently widowed, argued with her daughter Charlotte, on their last visit. Joanne has been worried about Charlotte's boyfriend Freddie. She can’t forgive him for the way he broke her heart when they were 1st together and wasn’t happy when they got back together. She just won’t give him a chance. Charlotte is desperate for her to get to know him like she does.

One Sunday afternoon 2 weeks later there is a knock at the door, when Joanne opens it she receives the news she’s been dreading. Charlotte is in hospital and Freddie has been arrested on suspicion of hurting her.

Rushed to the hospital, she finds Charlotte unconscious, surrounded by ventilators. As she discovers exactly what happened to her daughter, she is convinced Freddie is to blame and she was right to be suspicious of him.
She then discovers Charlotte is 28weeks pregnant! Devastated Charlotte hadn’t told her, she is trying to come to terms with all that has happened when Charlotte is rushed to theatre after another bleed on the brain. Will her and the baby survive?
Freddie continues to deny any involvement in what happened and the police continue to investigate.

The emotions that unfold as you read this book! The way the author has captured all those feelings and written it so well that you also experienced them is fantastic.
The only niggle I had was the timeline, things seemed to happen very quickly in some ways, visits to see Freddie arranged in less than 24hours, Freddie being held in prison as long as he was with such flimsy evidence and his ‘hotshot ‘lawyer on the case, seemed wrong. Despite that I couldn’t put this down towards the end.

Wow, where do I start with this book? This is honestly one of the best books that I’ve read for a while.

Joanna is certainly an over protective mother but there’s no doubting the love that she has for her daughter. The interesting thing as the story progresses, however, is how easily we can misinterpret the actions of other people. She had no idea of how much Charlotte loved her or how she felt about their relationship.

The characters are so well drawn in this book, and each time that we get a greater insight into one of them, our perception of the story changes. This heartbreaking tale is full of twists and turns.

Very emotional and poignant, this beautiful book will have you completely enthralled but it is a heartbreaking read, so be warned, it will leave you in tears. Such a fabulous book and one that I can’t recommend enough.

I adore Emma Robinson's books, and 'All My Fault' is no different. It's an incredible tale with characters that truly resonated with me, capturing my full investment. As is typical with Robinson's novels, I had my stack of tissues at the ready, given the emotional rollercoaster journey the book provided, frequently prompting me to grab one. It was absolutely fantastic.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

Emma Robinson feels like an author I should’ve read before now, but I haven’t. Clearly, I’ve missed out.

The books main character's (and the relationship that resonated most) is between Mother (Joanne) & Daughter (Charlotte).

Growing up, they seemed to have a good, close relationship. But as with anything, over time, this changes. Not always for the better.
Circumstances change, especially when Freddie arrives in Charlottes life as her boyfriend. Joanne dislikes him, doesn’t trust him and feels that her daughter could do better. All this does is cause arguments between them and tensions rise.

When 2 police officers show up at Joanna’s door she knows instantly something’s wrong. It’s never a good sign. What follows is an emotional, gut wrenching story.
Is it too late to repair relationships, what really happened that day, was it an accident? And why was Charlotte keeping one of the biggest secret's she could from her Mum?

The characters were well thought out, were flawed and in turn, utterly relatable. The author really managed to plunge the depths of human emotion and explore the intricacies of ever changing relationships.
I’m looking forward to checking out Emma Robinsons back catalogue and in turn, eagerly awaiting future releases from her too.
Thank you for my arc, much appreciated and enjoyed!

Well this book sent me on a rollercoaster of emotion. The author has a skill of eliciting a feeling towards a character then turning it totally on its head. Such a brilliant book full of heartbreak and hope.

The book follows a similar journey to my feelings and shows how we all make opinions and judgements. How judgements can stop good things happening if we can only widen our lens to see outside of our own perspective

Highly recommend

Wow!, This book was emotional. I cared about the characters and what was going to happen to them. First book by this author and definitely won't be the last.

Joanna and her daughter Charlotte had not spoken to each other in over two week. The closeness theyt used to have was gone and it seemed all they did was argue over Charlotte’s boyfriend, Freddie. Joanna didn't feel Freddie was good enough for Charlotte and she didn't trust him. Since her husband had died, it seemed there was no one to act as a buffer between the two of them. Joanna is working in the garden and around the house when she gets a visit from two police officers. Charlotte has been injured in what seems to be an altercation in her apartment and has been taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. It's uncertain if she will survive and Joanna is sure that Freddie is responsible. When she finds out that Charlotte is almost 7 months pregnant, she realizes things were more strained than she thought. Is Charlotte going to recover? Who pushed her? Will the baby survive?

Oh my heart, I don't think I have cried this much while reading a book. There were so many times that I was heartbroken for Joanna as she dealt with things. Luckily Joanna had her friend, Sally to be with her while she was at the hospital, but it was so sad. No parent wants that call about their child. We see what is happening at the hospital from Joanna's POV, but we also hear Freddie's POV as we learn about his relationship with Charlotte, how they met and how their relationship progressed. I totally disagreed with Joanna about Freddie and felt that she was blinded by something in her past. He seemed so sweet, caring and really loved her. I was sure I knew what had happened, but there were twists and turns that kept me second guessing myself. This book really looked at relationships in families, friends and couples. Although this was heartbreaking at times, there were high moments as well. There is suspense, what really happened to Charlotte, as well as a lot of drama. I enjoyed this book and although at times it wrecked me, I'm glad I read it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this ARC!

The cover of this book made me think this was going to be a thriller - it is a cosy mystery at most.

The writer is brilliant at making you feel like you are really in the story with them - bring a real life edge right with it.

The mid story twist actually had me gasp out loud.

Emma Robinson writes such beautiful stories that break my heart then delicately put it back together again. This book was no different. Charlotte has an accident and winds up in the hospital. While her mom is attached to her bedside, she is also stuck with piecing together what happened to her daughter, Charlotte, as well as handle everything for Charlotte while she is in the hospital.

I was so attached to these characters and invested in what was happening to them. My heart broke multiple times, and as a mom, I truly resonated with Joanna's character. This author's writing style makes her characters relatable. Robinson weaves stories that have incredible depth and are truly emotional. I always have my tissues ready when reading books by this author, and this one was no exception. This book exceeded all expectations I had going into it!! What a beautiful story!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book is a work of art, though heartbreaking. As a girl mom, it hit so hard. Feeling Joanna’s pain took me on an emotional journey. It’s truly every mom’s worst nightmare. Emma Robinson writes gripping novels that are so realistic. While pulling your heartstrings, they’re some of the best women’s fiction I’ve read.

Thank you, Emma Robinson, Bookouture, & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

This is my 5th book by Emma Robinson and my favorite so far! I loved it from the second I picked it up till the very last page. A woman’s worst nightmare comes true when she finds out her daughter has been hurt. Other things emerge that will pull on your heartstrings. I loved it! There’s a great twist about mid-way through that made me say “what?” Thanks to NetGalley for this early release in exchange for my honest review.

This is a really good book. I haven’t given 5 stars for a while but this book is definitely deserving. It is a good story and the characters are very well written. The story is really about Freddie and Charlotte. But Joanna is Charolette’ Mother and she doesn’t like Freddie. I want to be Joanna’s friend. Maybe not best friend because there is Sally but a close friend. I just signed up for a couple of months of Unlimited so that I can read some more by this author. Very good book and I will be recommending it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced copy for my honest review.

Reading Between the Wines book review #87/130 for 2024:
Book Tour!!
Rating: 31/2 🍷🍷🍷
Book: All My Fault
Author: Emma Robinson
Available now!! Released on September 9, 2024!

Sipping thoughts: What a great story of relationships, love, growing up and socio-economic disparities. This story was so heart-breaking. And when you first start reading it, you feel like it is just going to be a women’s fiction, but it turns a little bit into a domestic suspense. This story is told in dual storylines. The characters all start off as unlikable but as the story unfolds so does the likability of most characters. If you are looking for slow burning domestic suspense this is the book for you.

Cheers and thank you to @Bookouture and @Netgalley for an advanced copy of @AllMyFault.

Joanne’s dealt with a load of harsh blows in a short amount of time. The kiss of her husband and now her daughter.
I felt a lot of empathy for Joanne and admired her temerity and gumption.
I withheld any sympathy for Freddie until I knew his whole story and ultimately I think his character had the most development in the entire story.
His mother on the other hand had a very unnatural attachment to her son and got what she deserved.
There a lot of sorrow In the story but the ending couldn’t have been any better!

Joanna and her daughter Charlotte haven't spoken to each other for a long time. Joanna doesn't approve of Charlotte's boyfriend Freddie who she believes is not a very good person. When Joanna receives a visit from two police officers, who tells her that Charlotte has fell down the stairs after an altercation and is at the hospital with life altering injuries, Joanna immediately rushes to the hospital. Joanna firmly believes that Freddie is responsible for whatever happened to Charlotte. Joanna finds out that Charlotte was pregnant. What is going to happen next?

The story is told Joanna's and Freddie's POV. Despite the fact that Joanna thinks Freddie is up to no good, reading through Freddie's POV told me otherwise--that he was loving and caring towards Charlotte. The story overall was emotional and heartbreaking to read and the writing really captures those emotions very well. There are some twists and turns along the way which actually made me second guess about what is going to happen in the end. The book mainly talks about relationships, friendships and family in general and of course some suspense. This book will make you cry a lot.

Overall this book worth a five star rating.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only. Thank you Bookouture for making me a part of this blog tour.
